Yes -
Agree. If Tom mcd had gone and availed $600k a year, we could have got Trengove for $300k half the price. Same role. Ultimately, it’s a No

Obviously hard to gauge young Will Papley. For the Dees, he may be an option as a rookie pick or perhaps offer a Casey contract for 2021 if he’s not drafted.
-
Delisted: J Wagner, C Wagner (r), Dunkley (r) Retired: Bennell (r) Traded Out: Hannan, Preuss Traded In: Ben Brown -> 45-5 = 40 I would also delist O McDonald and Chandler (r) -> 40-2 = 38 Nietschke to move to rookie list alongside Lockhart and Mitch Brown with Bradtke - Cat B Allow 6 more additions - 18, 19, 28 & 50 + DFA + rookie pick 10 (44 on list as 39 primary list + 4 rookie A + 1 rookie Cat B)

Great work GD98. ✅ Jack Carroll and Bailey Laurie. (Definitely ?????). But I think Freo may choose Carroll over Chapman. Baldwin. He’s a tough one. His injuries will make it hard to know who takes the punt. I’d rather Jackson Callow if we speculated on a young forward. I’m still grabbing pace and skill in our “#28” 3rd pick Certainly JT will have Macrae, Carroll, Perkins on his top line then Laurie, Cook, Winder, Maher, Ford, Poulter in his next bracket. I see you had Dees looking to bid on Errol Gulden. Either Gulden or Brandon Walker would be a good bid and force the Swans/Freo to use up picks/points.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

I haven’t changed my view over the last few months. Wanted to again highlight Eddie Ford from Western Jets. He played a good game in the Futures match in the G in 2019. Very strong at the footy. Great mark. Evasive. Skilled. Apparently the best player at the Jets since Callan Ward (as good as Rayner was one description). Half forward to start but definitely has midfield elite qualities. Unfortunately we didn’t see him this year as he would have been a standout. JT would have him on list short list imv. -

I saw Isiah Winder play senior footy v East Perth on the WAFL TV and immediately thought he was a very good fit for us. Great skills. Excellent pace. Dynamic with the footy. Could play half forward or half back or yes even on the wing. -

Bump. I’m hoping that Isiah Winder will get fanatical Demonland support as our 2020 pick. We got Trac in ‘14, Oliver in ‘15, Fritsch in ‘17, Jacko & Kozzzzy in 19. Isiah is our 2020 gun. -

Yes it’s a tough. If he was 182cms, he’d be top 30. I think he will make the grade and get drafted but I’m not sure it’s by the Dees. -
Answer to Question 1. No. Answer to Question 2. No.

Correction. I saw Bailey Laurie in 2019 playing for Caulfield Grammar. He dominated. -

Yes I understand the query. I saw him in 2010 get the footy in an APS match and he got about 35 possessions to dominate the match even as a 17 year old. He tends to bring others into the game rather than run and try to kick long range 50m goal. I like his creativity and ability to evade. -

Agree. Has no idea about the clubs list management. We don’t need Berry (inside mid) or Allison. But he lives in reality and I agree that Perkins, Macrae and Carroll will unfortunately be likely to be gone before our picks. He has put up my draft prediction of MFC grabbing Isiah Winder, but we were trying to keep him under wraps ?. Does he read Demonland? Based on his predictions of these already gone before our picks, we would go for Isiah Winder, Eddie Ford, or Zavier Maher. That would be a handy trio. -

I’m not a fan. His kicking is poor. Inside mid most likely and we are already oversubscribed. -

Yes and no. Bailey Laurie is stronger already in the upper body as a 17-18 year old. Could play next year after a decent preseason. His tackle is better. Laurie is 180cms v Spargo 173cms. -
What they’re saying in Lulie Street
spirit of norm smith replied to Deeman's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is unbelievable. They want special allowances. Ridiculous. It’s unfortunate to have a young man with mental illness like Dayne Beams (or repeated concussions like KK ) but the AFL made the rules and must enforce them. Otherwise it smacks of continuing bias to some clubs. -

I think JT has a dozen names already listed for his pick 18,19 options (end up pick 22/23) and who might even be left at 28 (#34/35). Finlay Macrae** Archie Perkins ** Jack Carroll** Nik Cox ** Brayden Cook Bailey Laurie Caleb Poulter Eddie Ford Isaiah Winder Nick Stevens Zavier Maher and perhaps a possible bid at Brandon Walker. (** I think these will all go prior to our pick but who knows on draft day ) -

@Gawndog98 well done on the video highlights thread. I saw Isaiah Winder v East Perth match in WAFL on the TV and showed he has AFL skills ready and the pace to match. That confirmed he would be a great get for the Dees. His combine backed it up. Any highlights? -

PSD. I’d be very surprised if any of these 3 blokes make it through to our current picks 18 or 19. I expect at least 4 bids on zone/academy kids prior to our pick. Effectively pushes our first pick down to 22/23. If we get one of Macrae, Perkins or Carroll, it would be an absolute bonus. JT would probably be as excited as last year and scream out the number if any were still available. -

HERE IS MY LIKELY OPTIONS FOR 18,19. (assume Macrae, Carroll and Perkins are gone) Caleb Poulter- SA. WWT Eagles. tall 189cms ruck rover or half back flank. Great skilled creative left footer. Sets up play and has that Pendlebury like time with the footy. Needs the gym and perhaps work rate. Brayden Cook -SA STH Adelaide. smart creative half forward or wing. Good runner. Pace and endurance. Loves a goal. Would start as a half forward or wing option. Bailey Laurie - VIC. Oakleigh chargers. Unfortunately didn’t see him in 2020 but his footy as an underaged in 2019 was superb. Saw him a game for Caulfield Grammar v Scotch in 2019 and he was the standout. Good solid build. Evasive. Skilled. Smart. Loves a goal. He’d definitely be AFL ready with a good preseason. Isiah Winder - WA. Peel Thunder. Had a really good 2020 to rise up in recruiters note pads. Too good for Colts about 5-6 excellent games, he played 5 league matches and was not overwhelmed. Creative and skilled. Loves to setup play or run. Pace. Yes he did 2.87 for 20 metre sprint. I’d like to see him kick the footy more because he has great skills. In JT’s sights ????? -

Picks 18,19 Finlay Macrae, Archie Perkins and Jack Carroll are my main three youngsters who fit our needs. But I’m thinking all are likely to be gone. Who’s most likely to be available ? (And suits our future needs). Bailey Laurie, Brayden Cook, Isaiah Winder and Caleb Poulter. Winder has really impressed this year in Colts and WAFL and would be a super get imv.
