  1. if that's the case they should lose draft selections.
  2. Knightmare have him at 44, not the most reliable i know but think our 3rd round pick is still a decent chance.
  3. Mate Griffen would be worth a mil a year to us, seriously doubt we could get him though, others are at finals contenders so highly unlikely.
  4. Have money on him coaching us and still very confident that he will.
  5. Good for the board, but not sure he is president material unfortunately, pretty sure bartlett is our man.
  6. Let's assume we get pick 1 and 3 we i like the idea of trading pick 1 to Collingwood for Steele Sidebottom and pick 12 trade Jack Watts to Carlton for pick 9 Trade Mark Jamar and 3rd round pick to GWS for Anthony Miles free agents we sign, Xavier Ellis and Adam Cooney ( may have to pay slightly overs ) Delist: Sellar, Gillies, Rodan, Davis, Tynan, Jetta, Magner, couch. have picks 3,9,12,19,37,55 draft: #3 Matt Scharenberg ( reckon he will be an absolute star ) #9 Matt Couch ( This years ollie wines ) #12 Dom Sheed ( inside/outside, great skills, great leader ) #19 Luke Dunstan ( another in an under type ) #37 Zac Jones ( Jones is ultra-reliable; he is clean, polished, composed and very consistent. Jones is your new-age hybrid defender; in the mould of an Alan Toovey cross with a Michael Hibberd, Jones has a beautiful set of hands, loves to take intercept marks, whilst playing close checking football. Jones as a defender will offer clubs plenty of versatility in his role across half back. He plays tall and small, need is say more? #55 Dayle Garlett ( worth a punt? ) In's: Sidebottom, Cooney, Ellis, Miles, Scharenberg , Couch, Sheed, Dunstan, jones, Garlett Best 22 imo B: Jones Frawley Garland HB: Terlich Mcdonald Grimes C:Scharenberg Jones Toumpas HF: Cooney Dawes Hogan F: Sylvia clark Howe Fol: Gawn Viney Sidebottom Int: Trengove, Couch, Ellis Sub: Sheed makes some real battles for spots all over the lineup I think this is realistic and would improve our side alot, thoughts?
  7. See i don't subscribe to this Clark is gone talk, our information from the club is that he will be fine for pre season, could have potentially been training now if he had pulled up 15% better, if he doesn't play at all next year it will be time to start thinking like that, but until we are told otherwise i think it's better to assume Clark will be right to go round 1 with no more hiccups
  8. I'm not real keen on offering Adams big, big dollars to be honest, i think he will be a good player, but when you're talking big dollars i am thinking throw big dollars at Daisy and Dal Santo just to add some seniority to the midfield and teach the young blokes.
  9. I think Roos would at least have things moving in the right direction, Neeld was untried, if we had no confidence in him how could the players?
  10. If carlton offer us pick 9 for Watts it needs to be seriously considered, he has huge upside, but he is a little soft so he may never realise it regardless of who coaches or where he plays, pick 9 would get us Crouch who is a young contested ball machine ( exactly what we need right now )
  11. The AFL want him to coach Melbourne, they won't leave any stone unturned, if he isn't coach next year, we will at least know there was nothing more we could have done, and Choco i think will do a very good job
  12. gold coast ia probably a good example of what we should aim for in 2014
  13. get crouch, he is monster!
  14. Just make Max Gawn the captain and be done with it!
  15. Couch seems to be a top 10 pick by most, anywhere between 5-15 very similar to where Ollie wines was rated last year really, having said that i wouldn't be surprised if we look at taking him earlier than he is expected to go, he is a clearance machine! Trade watts for pick 9 Trade pick 1 for sidebottom and pick 12 pick up Aish at 3, crouch at 9, sheed at 12 and dunstan at 19 and our midfield is sorted long term.
  16. It's a fantastic example for some of our blokes who maybe need a wake up call in terms of how hard they need to work and how hard at it they need to be to make it.
  17. No idea who he is close with, but i suppose when you're at a club for a few years you'd be reasonable mates with most people, you'd have to think signing Roos would improve our chances of keeping blokes like this?
  18. Jack Watts can walk out the door if he wants unfortunately, i know for a fact we're trying very hard to hang on to him, but ultimately it's his decision, if he walks fair enough, we need to work out the best trade outcome for us, which imo is carltons first round pick.
  19. Okay guys interested in opinions, should we before the start of 2014, table an offer of 3-5 years 700k-1mil a year to james frawley to sign an extension? for mine he is our most important player besides Hogan now, we need to lock both up ASAP if we can, imo Hogan is probably a safer bet than Frawley, hearing he is loving Melbourne, but as a club we need to be good enough to keep guys like this thoughts?
  20. we were missing some good players too, Clark, Dawes, Hogan, Frawley, and then Grimes, Trenners and Howe totally out of form, shows we are a long way from our best, not too concerned that we lost, more about the reasons why.
  21. Almost have to take the risk, free him of the captaincy, put him on ice for a huge pre season and i would bet vital organs to the fact he would be a much better player in 2014
  22. For your own sanity just write this year off mate, let PJ get things in order and we will see where we end up next year, might be a totally different footy club by then.
  23. Pretty hard to convince anyone to come to us over other teams at this point, might be better off to look to free agency and the draft for some talent until we get our house in order abit more, i think we can become and attractive destination again fairly quickly.
  24. It was Whitfield 1 Toumpas 2 through pretty much the entire year, GWS made some, in all honesty strange choices in Plowman and O'rourke that got Toumpas through to us, i still wonder if that was part of the Hogan deal.
  25. On the first part, i think his comments demonstrated it may be more about not having the guts then not having the heart, but like i said i have no issue that he left, but he left on really bad terms which is what i have an issue with, he had the choice to handle things differently, he hasn't that's just the reality of his decisions unfortunately, imo he can bag the club all he likes but we pretty much got Hogan and clark in return correct? something like that anyway, he is getting well overpaid up there and good on him.
