Rumour. Hird to stand down of be sacked
Ted Lasso replied to Demonsterative's topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember at the anthem he stood there with his arms crossed like he wasn't taking us seriously, my mother who was a Bombers supporter commented about how disrespectful that was. -
I think he would probably develop a new game plan based around the strengths of our list.
-
Who would you rather? i personally am thrilled to see we're going to have an experienced coach

Maybe we should get into Zaharakis's ear incase the entire list is banned but him? haha -
No worries, thanks for that.

Dancing pretty close to the edge, he will be lucky if there is a bomberland to take over -

Oh dear, who will be caretaker, surely Bomba just incase points aren't stripped and they are fair game in finals? -
it's about what we expected isn't it?
-
But surely a shortlist inclusion means they still consider him a very realistic chance
-
He is better than sellar and gillies but still not AFL standard imo
-
It was reported last night he was on the shortlist with Eade, Williams, Ratten and Craig
-
My concern is that we already have a pp being added to the list effectively with Jesse Hogan coming on board, the equivalent of adding 2 top 3 picks to the list, i wonder if that will hinder our chances of getting a PP?
-
I think there is more to the situation, i highly doubt PJ would bother wasting the clubs time putting Roos on the shortlist if he wasn't fairly confident he was a decent chance
-
malthouse and hird said no. mathews said no to the lions at first
-
until we sign someone else i am assuming we will get our preference
-
Great point mate. i think Eade has unfinished Business so he probably wouldn't be happy with it.
-
Eade in a succession plan with Leigh tudor sounds alright to me
-
If he is in their best 22 he'd be playing, you could argue Jack Watts doesn't want to be with us but is still playing.
-
I hope so, i really have no idea what i'd do if we folded or something like that, also one of the past players is a close family friend of ours so that i think would have been a big part of my choice.
-
It's the same as Watts and Col, why would anyone sign not knowing who the coach, board and president are? wouldn't work for someone and have no idea who the boss is.
-
Sounds like we're going with a succession plan so maybe we'd be better served hiring the best coach for player development and make the person who is going to take over a more game day coach who will win us finals
-
Yeah good idea, i suppose what's really important now is that we embrace what PJ is trying to do and don't look back.
-
I am only 22 so i wasn't around in the 70's but i probably started following football in about 98 and my mother was an Essedon fan and father was Collingwood, i wanted a team that was neither, and i loved the spirit and passion of the Demon fans at a game i went to against Richmond, just fell in love with the club, the fact we were a strong team around that time probably helped also, met Gary Lyon and Jimmy stynes at a football clinic and decided after that i wanted to follow the Dees and never really doubted it since, although now it's frustrating at times i feel as thought a flag down the track would make all this worth keeping faith in.
-
It's really tragic isn't it? how much wasted talent, our respect going down the drain.
-
Yeah i agree with that, but then again we have not had a really good coach, probably haven't even had an AFL standard coach for a full season.
