Not sure if anyone is really happy about it, because i don't think anyone trusts the AFL at all and rightly so it would seem, if they are the reason we land Roos and Walsh and get our house in order than i am fine with it.

At the risk of sounding like another person throwing out conspiracy theories i don't think the AFL are concerned at all about weakening these clubs, i would imagine it would be much easier to move say a St kilda to Tassie than establish a whole new club again and compromise 3-4 drafts. the thing that makes us different is the promotional side of the Melbourne footy club, being the name of the capitol city of the heart of football we kind of have a shield that makes us a team the AFL needs to get and keep strong, the doggies, saints and Roos probably aren't as important in that sense so the help they receive may be far more limited if at all. anyway that's just my opinion.

I wish i could share this attitude, i just know it would be our luck though that we would trade him for a good player, they'd do nothing and he would become an absolute superstar somewhere else

I would pay a fully fit lecras 600k a year, i wouldn't pay betts that based on anything i have ever seen, betts is flashy and a good small forward, Lecras can do all betts can do, but can also play at an elite level in the midfield, he is exactly what we need right now, only issue being there is no way in the world he would a: want to come and play for mfc in it's current state b: just re-signed with wce long term.

This is one of the better suggestions i have seen on here mate, well done! only thing i would change is i would bundle pick 1 and mark jamar and trade that for pick 2, taylor adams and anthony miles then use pick two and three on James Aish and Dom sheed, ironically a fairly similar combo to viney and toumpas, it would take a few years but a midfield of, Viney, toumpas, adams, N.jones, M.jones, dom sheed, james aish, trengove ( if he finds his zip ) sits pretty well wwith me, maybe throw in a mature free agent to teach them abit and we are well on the way.

Watts seems like a smart lad, and while we have mismanaged him at times due to poor coaching decisions on our part i am sure he understands the level of faith we put into him choosing him at pick one, we have been very patient with him. i'm sure if he goes we would be able to get something for him but i can't see him going anywhere, it's vital to the culture we're trying to build that we hang on to players like this, hanging onto Wattsy, Chippa and col would be a huge step in the right direction for us. As i am very confident next year our coach will be one of Roos or Choco i can't see any player having any real objections.

Magner and Couch in particular play a huge role in Casey winning games, there is huge value in our VFL team having a winning culture and feeling while our AFL team doesn't as it gives the players who struggle at AFL level a chance to go back, play in a few wins and play some good football to knock the door down and get back in, i cannot see one instance where the recruitment of couch and Magner has hindered the development of any player on our list, if the club wanted a taggert to play as an attacking midfielder at casey make no mistake he would.

Miracle that might seem a bit closer when we get back to being a top 4 team.

Well it's true, we represent the capitol city of Victoria, the home of AFL. we are more important than a Stkilda or North Melbourne.

Put frawley, jamar and evans on ice, absolutely no good in risking them for 1 or 2 games.

I think the reason he just about shut the door on us a couple of weeks ago was to get the spotlight off him, maybe he is in the decision making process and didn't want external pressure which is fair enough, saying the wrong thing would have completely undone that, they didn't really look at each other but imo that's probably nothing.

A strong Melbourne football club would be of much better financial and promotional value to the AFL than another relocation team, this is why the AFL is bending over backwards to get us right quickly when they could have simply suggested move to tassie or something.

didnt matter what roos said or did people would have theorys behind it, i think he is coming because we arent as bad as people think, hes go down as a legend if he gets us right and the afl are backing a huge offer from us, 20% improvement from.our underdeveloped talent and we are a totally different team.

i tend to agree, i think we are still right in the mix, we are a shell of a club, why would he sign anything until he knows how he would be working with/for? and whats the rush? woosha and voss look safe now

i reckon our own Jack Viney might be the closest thing to selwood in the draft, wines might be more like a brock mclean yet, we really don't know how the kids are going to develop. Assuming our development problems are finally in order i think jimmy will be abit like a joey montagna, just my personal opinion but i can see some similarities

if we lose sack neil craig and see what royal has good as a senior coach

Dom Barry worth a run yet? surely he and taggart would worth a look before the season is out
