  1. Yeah pretty much, we are much better off in terms of key position players, our midfield wouldn't be as good but i am sure we will adress that through trading and free agents.
  2. Talented young mid/half back, far too good to be rotting in the reserves up in Sydney but i suppose that's what so many first round picks does to you. Great kid, leadership potential, and would most likely get him for very little. anyone interested?
  3. Defenders nightmare, 1 on 1 in the forward 50 with clark, dawes, hogan, howe, watts, fitz and the ball coming in fast from Toumpas, watts or Aish remember in 2011 we won 8 games, i'd like to think our side with the right coach/plan and a fit core group could do that again.
  4. that sort of game style suits the list we are building with quality tall forwards
  5. I think PJ just wants to know exactly what's on the table before they start making serious considerations if Roos doesn't accept in the meantime, would think during the selection process the quality of blokes like Williams and Eade as coaches and just the records over a long period of time would get them over the line ahead of Laidley, Knights and Ayres
  6. you can kinda look at the pro's list and i think that makes the decision pretty easy Toumpas: *quick *elite skills *leader *already played senior footy *balanced out drafting viney well *considered by many to be nearly on par with whitfield *huge upside *Big game player ( just about best on in the SANFL gf the year before drafted ) Wines *tough inside mid *solid skills ( not fantastic by any measure *leader *ready to go * already had a more highly rated inside mid in Viney, plus N.jones *hard to judge the upside of these blokes, he is already good but he might not get drastically better. in summery imo we made the correct call, i think wines will be a very good player, but i think toumpas will be a better player in time, keep in mind wines is doing well in a much better midfield group, toumpas is in possibly the worst AFL team of all time so it's really unfair to say they are on level footing on that alone, but i would say the game toumpas played against Geelong was as good or better than anything Wines has produced this year. anyways just my opinion
  7. we already have blease and barry, not really worth the effort
  8. Oh sorry i found what you are talking about, i actually quoted you but the person you're quoting and what they said came up on top of it, it's done it with the last few that you were quoting for me, i was just saying that i meant for this thread to include Jesse Hogan as a player on our list even though he technically isn't yet.
  9. I wasn't aware of that either? haha Nah mate, just Demonfan26, although my name is Ben.
  10. Yeah, it's not the end of the world, i'd be tempted to leave him in though, noone is beating down the door to get in and as long as craig sits him down and says it's okay, some very good players have done the same thing before i think he will be fine.
  11. I mean of the players currently associated with MFC who is the most important for now and for the future, that would include Jesse Hogan
  12. I think as much as that his injuries would be too much of a concern for the club to offer him a longer deal
  13. Would still be willing to bet on Roos coaching us next year, but i'd prefer choco
  14. Voss and Worsfold look like staying on so that helps our chances, if he wants to coach
  15. I tend to agree, it would send a huge message of faith to the entire list and be a huge boost, and if the club offers him a huge extension and he knocks it back right away we will have a better idea where we stand.
  16. Apparently we seriously considered him when we traded for Hogan, wouldn't be at all surprised if we pick him, but i'd prefer Aish or Sheed.
  17. I think Jesse Hogan and Jack Viney are going to be our poster boy players for the next 10 years, so that alone gives them a big measure of importance to us, as the club rises back to being a competitive unit we will be needing them to take up superstar status, i feel the opportunity for Trenners and Grimes to reach such heights may have passed but that doesn't at all mean they can't be good players for us, maybe trenners can be our luke ball and Grimes can play an enright role.
  18. from all i have seen and heard the club is expecting clark to be fine, the original injury is no longer an issue and it's where the screw was creating almost a hot spot like response, working on the theory that he will be right to go at the start of pre season and they can ease him into things and should be 100% next year.
  19. I like the idea, i think we need to chase two experienced mids though, a midfield of Jones, Viney, toumpas, grimes, trenners, sheed, cross, thomas and adams looks pretty handy, and is realistic, we would have to pay overs to appeal to thomas imo though, would need to be sure he is going to get back to top form.
  20. I am fairly confident he will re-sign fairly soon, i think the club would be well aware of how important his is to us, how popular he is with the young fans and his huge upside so i am sure they will offer him a deal accordingly, Sylvia i am not so confident about
