  1. I think trenners is doing alright, not great but he is in our best 22 for a few reasons, Next years coach with a bit more experience will be able to identify better the strengths of the players, and build a game plan from scratch that plays to the overall strength of the core group, i think this was Neeld's biggest fault, we aren't Collingwood, that plan won them a flag but we are 40+ totally different blokes, trying to find our feet, i think a more geelong like style suits us better, all things considered we did about what most would have hoped and expected against the Lions, would have been nice to win, but they are probably a better side in a few ways and deserved the result.
  2. He was a pick number 4, hopefully west coast is the right place for him to start to play some good footy
  3. Would he be worth a late first round pick? Wwuld think he would add a stronger body to our midfield and is a pretty handy player Crows would have to consider the offer to gain a place in the top of the draft.
  4. We need to seriously consider offering the job to Neil Craig, even if Roos does turn out to be interested, he has guys like frawley and watts playing some fantastic football, and he has the boys seemingly happy about playing footy again
  5. Poor game but give the young man the benefit of the doubt, he played very well against Geelong in horrid conditions not a week ago, and he looked pretty crook on the bench, weren't we talking at the start of the year about managing expectations on our young players? haha
  6. dom barry and sam blease would be okay in that sense i think, but i think they're gunna be more handy as outside mids, maybe recruit a dayle garlett who wouldn't take a high pick i'd imagine and rotate a few blokes through there? blease dawes watts barry clark hogan setting the forward line up next year if everyone is fit is going to be a fantastic problem to have
  7. what sort of player comparisons would you make for Aish and Scharenberg? from what i have seen Aish is maybe a little bit like a dayne beams and scharenberg abit like a sam fisher as a defender but could probably become a Mundy type player and really add something as a mid
  8. Totally agree and luke ball has come back to be a gun player, the other thing people need to consider is the stress fracture, the pain from that can hang around for a long time, so when you add up all of the factors that would be holding him back, OP stress fracture playing in a poor side pressure of being captain too young and of a poor side drug saga (less of a concern but i'm sure he was worried about it) and he is still averaging 20 touches over the last month, he can turn the ball over but in general he is okay with ball in hand, and he is our best defensive mid in terms of tackles and pressure around the stoppages, i know that's a hard thing to see when we are well beaten, but it's the same sort of strength alot of the sydney players seem to develop
  9. if we get a pp him and aish would be nice
  10. I'd say tonights result reflects where we are at, we probably have one of the better defenses going around but it's put under way too much stress, and we will have a very handy forward line next year but we lack a midfield and overall skill and polish, a good trade period and a pre season focus on skills and decision making rather than just getting our fitness up to scratch and i reckon we'll be alright
  11. It's hard to say, fitz started well and then they tightened up on him abit, i'd say they're fighting it out for the 3rd forward spot next year though
  12. He is alot like trenners in that he is great at the defensive side of things and the next step will come from adding more offensive potency, would love to see him become a 40-50 goal a year forward
  13. Anyone but Neeld! but we really need to get a midfield somehow, maybe look at trading some underperformers.
  14. I would have thought Dawes would be more worthy than Trengove of this weeks demonland hanging? 500k a year and he was shown up bigtime by fitz today, granted he has played some good games this year for us and his leadership has been impressive but we are paying him alot of money so he really should be showing abit more touch.
  15. I think Trenners fades in and out of games because he worries too much about doing the team things, he is great with tackles and 1%ers but we need him to turn these 20 touches 12 tackles into 25-30 touches 12 tackles and a goal, and i think he is capable of doing that, a solid month of 20+ touches while not what we'd like is something to build on.
  16. Shouldn't be captain, that's painfully obvious, but 20 touches again and 12 tackles, made a few mistakes so i'd say he was okay today
  17. More tough decisions are going to have to be made at seasons end, i would suggest there aren't many players who are safe.
  18. On a positive note, Frawley seems to be getting back to some of his best form, we must hang on to him.
  19. Sick of being happy with not getting totally flogged, would love to see some wins!
  20. Fitz would have to be ahead of Dawes as a player, sure dawes has leadership, but we can only have so many tall forwards and if clark is alright to play next year, Dawes might find it pretty tough
  21. Trenners has 9 tackles, at least it's not a lack of effort.
  22. He would be our best tackler, but i'm not sure he is a Mid, maybe a half forward? he is good overhead and a nice shot at goal
