The if you can't get Dustin Martin get Reece Conca Thread
Ted Lasso replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
i tend to agree, would have to double his paycheck to even get a second look, having said that it would be stupid not to put in a call and just ask him, they should be asking anyone with even a 1% chance of moving. -
Got a few good options at pick 21 Durmont, Dunstan Cripps, Hartung, Acres, freeman some might go earlier but it looks as though we are going to get some good talent with that pick, might well be cripps
-
i thought he was good this week and the last few before
-
either they offer us pick 9 or we trade him to gws for pick 10

THE DRAFT: TAC CUP FUTURE STARS ROLLING DRAFT
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
might as well write melb next to 3 and 9 3 for pp and 9 for watts -
Absolutely, we'd have to pay 900k to get thomas, i'd rather offer them 450 k each for 5 years and lure them back to vic. and to satisfy the trade, Jack watts, Mark Jamar and pick 21?

I believe PJ and the new coach will understand the need for focusing 100% on player, team and whole club development, don't be surprised if a few boys who you thought maybe weren't up to it start to show a little bit. Trengove Grimes Sylvia Howe Watts Tapscott Mcdonald Evans Viney Toumpas Pick 2 pick 21 Gawn Spencer Fitzpatrick all of these boys have the potential to at the very least be solid B+ footballers for the Melbourne footy club, the right coach might make a bigger difference than people think, if they can get this group believing again, confident again and help them enjoy playing footy again.
-
We are trying to do that in Darwin as it is, can't see them changing that.
-
MFC- we have jesse Hogan..
-
Tapscott has shown enough to earn the one year left on his contest imo, he'd wanna improve next year though or he will be seeking a new place of employment.
-
I feel like leadership is missing as much as the midfield, Trengove and Grimes are solid players but Grimes is a handy half back, and Trengove is a link up player and good tackler who has the potential to be more if his body comes good. they aren't guys you'd follow into battle, for mine Garland, Clark, Frawley and Nathan jones are, a serious look at the leadership group and captaincy would be a pretty decent idea imo the midfield group is full of potential but seriously needs support from some experienced heads, we need to look at blokes like Dal Santo, Sewell, Chapman, Corey and those sorts of blokes on 1-2 year deals to sure up the midfield short term, teach the kids and provide support.
-
Totally agree mate, can't see him slipping past pick 15 under any circumstances if we can somehow get our hands on a pick between 8-12 i will be doing cartwheels.
-
Chapman isn't a rodan, he is a serious high quality player, i'd have no hesitation in offering him a short term deal if they feel his body would hold up.
-
we have been soo poorly coached for so long its hard to know what this group.is capable of.
-
nice theory but his injuries concern me, corey would be worth a call

Our Midfield: an optimist's short story....
Ted Lasso replied to PartyTimeJohnny's topic in Melbourne Demons
really need at least one older mid to guide this group, think sewell or dal santo -
whats swallow done to be worth pick 2?
-
They did play some fantastic football when everyone was fit and firing under him, injuries made things hard for him.
-
We are so reactive, it's frustrating to watch when a team like Geelong get the ball three players down the line know exactly what they're going to do and start running into position with Mfc we get the ball, sometimes we move it okay but we are so indecisive, don't run nearly hard enough to create options and seem to have almost no confidence i can understand keeping it simple with a young group but i just can't for the life of me see a game plan or any sort of structure.
-
The article on the AFL website about Neil Craig suggests to me that he either doesn't feel he is the man for the job or he doesn't want it, make of it what you will but i get the feeling more and more he won't be coaching us next year.

pederson is done at AFL level, would trade him back for gysberts in a heart beat
