I'd be tempted to try and run off their forwards, we know they are going to do damage, but if our backs can create at the same time we can at least make them accountable, the best defence is a good offence sorta thing. \

Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
If watson recieves an infraction notice i would assume that also means he loses his Brownlow? -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 2

I thought Toumpas was pretty good, i certainly rate that output higher than the one good game blease has played in his five years at the club.

Last year we won 2 games at 54%, there aren't a whole lot of positives that come out of a season like that.
-
we needed a pick to trade for Dawes, which is why the hogan trade was ND3, ND13 and ND 72 for Jesse Hogan, Dom Barry and ND20 if we just traded pick 3 for Hogan we could have picked up Grundy at 13 which would have been a much better result i think

Surely Gawn has to be smack bang in the middle.

Where? -
There was also Daniel Tahlia Ryan Bastinac Lewis Jetta Jake Carlsisle Daniel Menzel Jack Gunstan Luke Ball Nat Fyfe Sam Reid in the top 40, and we managed - Tapscott, Gysberts and Gawn out of that group but i agree that it really wasn't a strong draft overall, plenty of duds went to other sides as well as us.
-
I didn't see him duck his head, he just wanted the ball more than anyone else and got rewarded What Selwood does i classify as borderline staging and manipulating a poorly worded rule, which in turn hinders the respect i have for him as a player, i don't see why diving forward to fake a push in the back and getting done for staging is any different to dropping your knees.

Especially when noone wants to come watch you play and you're getting so much less money than some of the opposition teams as a result

Stkilda...
-
I don't believe either being rushed back will make us more or less likely to win, i think we need to let them get some game time at casey and make sure they're right for round 3 which is our next real winnable game
-
It's a shame we weren't able to lock in Simpson as Successor when we had the chance.
-
I think we are in for a long afternoon unfortunately, if we are in the game at 3/4 time i will be over the moon
-
If he was a little more accurate we'd all be celebrating a win, he was very unlucky on the weekend not to have 30 touches and 3-4 goals and wouldn't the crows love seeing him do that for another side.

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014

Exactly, alternatively we could clear out the entire 50 and just leave Howe down there and kick it high -

I really like the idea of a forward line restructure HF: Blease Fitzpatrick Kent F: Kennedy-Harris Howe Toumpas go abit smaller and quicker, i remember Carlton exposed the Eagles a little bit this way last year. -
Don't be so sure, Adelaide and the Suns have both made offers to his management as far as i know, Hawthorn are also right in the mix but i reckon their senior players getting abit older i'd be more likely to sign with the suns if it was me.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jobe Watson admitting on the footy show he took AO6 should mean he will certainly get an infraction notice correct? i thought a confession or information from a reliable source of wrongdoing was enough. -
Adelaide might well get Chip as a free agent and not want Tommy, then Danger might sniff a flag at the crows and not want to leave.
-
I'd argue that the players should be happy with any opportunity in the AFL, not everyone gets to play at this level and right now they're preventing clubs from getting the best possible trade for them by nominating one club and not budging
-
Getting Dangerfield would be massive, but we would need to pay way overs to have any chance a mil a year plus and we'd have to offer them alot to make the trade happen
-
How exactly? he is clearly keen on AFL to nominate for 2 drafts, he is from Perth, playing for either of those teams would mean he could be home and play the game he loves, i don't know where i mentioned anything about him not liking the Hawthorn football club and me saying i'm sick of the go home factor was just a general comment, AFL today makes it so easy for players to just claim homesickness and get out of the club they're in, which i don't like, means interstate teams would be hesitant to take the best talent all the time
-
I'll let you be the judge of that.
