  1. Not really considering he was clearly the second best prospect in the draft for the entire season, captain of his state, had been playing and playing well in senior footy premierships the two years prior to being drafted and contrasted perfectly with Jack Viney in terms of us getting a quality inside and outside player the only absurd thing in all of this is the insane expectations of some of our supporters, i'm sure Jimmy would look alot better in Ports side, and Wines wouldn't look nearly as good in our side, either way we'd think we had made the wrong call, it's the nature of a club in our position.
  2. He was alot quicker than this early on, i'd say the hip surgery has made him lose some of that, maybe needs a running coach
  3. Plenty of good slow players out there, i'm very confident his skills and game sense will be all he needs to be a dangerous player for us
  4. He does have a long way to go, but so do most second year players, he is getting the speed at AFL, we have seen he has some weapons, his skills, decision making and hard running, his contested ball i think will naturally come along
  5. Absolutely no reason a player couldn't complete year 11 and 12 at the teams expense, i think you'll find alot of players do.
  6. I reckon they should be drafted at 16 and have the opportunity to develop at the club for 2 years, this would help players settle into the AFL lifestyle and allow them to develop in an elite organisation
  7. 1. Jesse Hogan - Keep 2. Nathan Jones -Keep 3. Christian Salem - Keep 4. Jack Watts - Keep 5. Jimmy Toumpas - Keep 6. Chris Dawes - keep if fit 7. Jack Viney - Keep 8. Lynden Dunn - Keep 18. Daniel Cross - Offer one year as playing assistant coach? 20. Colin Garland - Keep 23. Bernie Vince - Keep 25. Tom McDonald - Keep 31. Jack Grimes - Keep 15. Neville Jetta - gone 41. Alex Georgiou - keep 43. James Harmes - keep 47. Max King - keep we need 20-25 list changes imo
  8. I don't think he did anything like what Neeld did really, he has put the heat on the boys and fair enough, i still think all things considered we are a much improved side, add our three big forwards to that and we may have only lost by 6-7 goals which against a team as good as the eagles and considering where we are at, might have been a solid result.
  9. i'd go Georgiou Frawley Garland Dunn Mcdonald Grimes Watts Jones Toumpas Vince Fitzpatrick Blease Howe Gawn Pederson Jamar Cross Tyson Viney Kennedy-harris Byrnes Kent
  10. Todd Viney watched Ollie Wines grow up, but he also had alot to do with Jimmy Toumpas through Junior footy, there is noone more qualified to have made the decision than him. having said that, there were rumours that he wanted Ollie Desperately and Neeld overruled him. but Toumpas had 2 very good years of senior footy before he was drafted so it's abit surprising he seems out of place with bigger bodies.
  11. Hardest team to play against because the opposition was too busy laughing to kick goals.
  12. to be fair on the weekend Wines had 4 more touches and one more goal then Toumpas, wines played in a team that won easily, and Toumpas in a team that got flogged.
  13. I agree, we will be a totally different side next year, might only be a handful of blokes who are safe right now
  14. nathan jones is well on the way
  15. Out: Pederson, M.jones, Michie, Bail, Spencer In: Gawn, Viney, Evans, Kent, Jamar
  16. Reckon Roosy would be having doubts yet?
  17. Jack Viney would be a handy sub, going to come on at a high intensity and go hell for leather at the ball when the sting of the game has gone out of it.
  18. There is no way Frawley won't get a 4 year deal and big pay rise, can't see us getting a free agent either so i'd say we will get band 1 compo which would be pick 2, we also may get a priority pick which after another bad year would be justified i think picks 1,2 and 3 is not an out of the question result at this point
  19. I am pretty certain that's what's going to happen at the end of the year RJAY, if we can snag their first pick for him it might be a decent result all things considered.
  20. Trengove needs a good spell in the VFL, i'd rather see Nicholson or Strauss be told here is your chance, prove you belong or you're gone at the end of the year than see Jack plod along the way he is, after 5 seasons 20 touches isn't okay anymore for a number 2 pick hyped as the next nathan buckley, it's time to start impacting games. I wish the AFL would let us choose 10 players to be safe and give us draft concessions for a total rebuild, this list is going nowhere fast
  21. Opposition teams can just kick to his opponent and know they will burn him off in space, he needs to be used as an inside mid or a forward and nothing else, which is a shame because during his first year i thought he would be an absolute superstar
  22. I really feel like this thread should be locked, start a new thread when we get something factual to go on.
  23. It's a shame we can't get some sort of Draft kick start where we delist all but say 10 of our players and get a heap of first rounders like GWS and GC did, this list is going nowhere in a hurry and we might have 10 players who are still capable of something but how are we supposed to keep them around
  24. Jack Trengove needs to find something fast, his speed is a concern, but he is no slower than Sam Mitchell, needs to work on becoming that type of player although i doubt he will ever be in that league.
  25. 6: Nathan Jones ( reckon he'll be in the brownlow votes as strange as that sounds. ) 5: Dom Tyson ( honestly shocked at how well this kids going, worth pick 2 on his own ) 4: Lynden Dunn ( fast becoming a very solid medium defender ) 3: Shannon Byrnes ( Looked our only scoring option ) 2 : Daniel Cross ( another very solid game ) 1: Jimmy Toumpas ( makes things happen when he has the pill and works his backside off )
