Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don’t think we should be waiting around for freo to make a trade with port. We should do that ourselves. Set the price 5&6 if they want him pay up otherwise keep him for another year. Freo are desperate for anything to sell their members and they will cave hogan is exactly what they need to sell hope and avoid slipping into long term irrelevance. if we do this we could make the trade with port and get steven May into the club as well as 2 top 10 picks to on trade or take to the draft.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
The only way this happens is if the trade requirements that the MFC have put on the table, and freo have In principal agreed to are not met by the dockers. This has been going on a while

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Agreed. I think we can carry one of Oscar or frost, not both, and if we could get someone else as well that’s a bonus
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Agreed. I’d take cerra and a pick for hogan in a heart beat.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Sorry mate Kolodjashnij. It’s definitely sad to see him go but I was also told very reliably no senior member at the club didn’t think this was a serious possibility. So plans are in place

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Reliably told Jesse has A. Formally asked to be traded to Fremantle. B. The dockers have agreed in principal to 2 first round picks this year for hogan will be either 6 &10 or 9&10 and an exchange of later picks. Some haggling to go on there. Steven may looking all but certain to join in exchange for one of those picks. I suspect kk will be involved in that deal. apologies if this news is already known, I haven’t been able to keep track on this thread.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
Gotta do what’s best for his family as sad as it would be to see him go!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
The other thing I like about him, and hasn’t been mentioned as much is he’s quite tall and good above his head, he has the potential to be a very good player and in my opinion has been poorly developed and mis managed

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Freo have offered stupid money. Move heard, but I’m not sure if I believe Jesse wasn’t happy with how we’ve treated his foot injury

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
Like gus very talented but had a string of concussions. Huge potential value if we can get him right

The Need for Outside Midfielders
Might tempt the giants about kelly If they are nervous about him leaving.
-
Josh Kelly
Yeah it does a bit but I do kind of see the logic, though I suspect if we drafted kelly we might have been playing this weekend. As good as Salem has been. I do wonder if the blues could be tempted into a trade say pick 5 and Tyson for pick 1 or some sort of variation of that to help us get Walsh in the door. The kid is fantastic! Would definitely soften the blow of losing Jesse if we could do that
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yep I think that’s a good plan! Pick 10 I think is also a fair deal for may. So head to the draft with a couple of top end picks and get in may! Or even package up 5,9 and chase another good player
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
5 & 6 or he stays... I bet you they will give both up. They’re that desperate
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don’t agree I suspect the pre season draft card will become a huge factor in 2019, if freo have another rubbish year as expected
-
Josh Kelly
Happy to pop picks 5&6 under the giants nose and see how confident they are kelly won’t leave next year. I think he will leave next year and we would be a chance to get him if we put a good offer to him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Firstly the suns are bluffing about being willing to hang onto may. It’s not going to happen. And the pies first pick would be about 17-18 so they would have to include a player of quality to get it up to the value of pick 5 or 6 i personally don’t mind the idea of passing on pick 5 to the power for 9& 10 and allowing them to grab the Adelaide lad and offering pick 10 for may. This allows us to fill the key defensive void and either take 2 top 10 picks to the draft or bundle them up for a crack at some good players.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yep I’m hearing that ballpark as well and 6 -7 years if you can offer a bloke a deal like that good luck arguing that player who is also contracted isn’t worth picks 5 & 6
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I’m hearing the freo offer is pretty Insane $$ wise, similar ball part to the mooted gaff and Shiel offers
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Couple of top end picks would go nicely as a starting point. Shame to lose Jesse though. Always had a feeling this might happen eventually sadly

Sam Mayes
He’s played some strong footy at AFL level as recently as 2017 so I think it’s worth doing some due diligence as to why his form has dropped off. If there is a realistic chance of him returning to his best form or even improving on that and he’d come at minimal cost I think it’s worth exploring. Bit like balic last year, it’s low risk but he does have some upside depending on the reasons for his form drop off

Farewell Jesse Hogan
The media has lost the plot. In what universe is chad Wingard worth 2 first rounders but hogan not?
-
Dylan Shiel
He can’t kick and doesn’t do the defensive stuff. He looks flashy when he runs through the middle but he doesn’t do the hard stuff we value so he won’t be coming to us
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Melbourne people not officially from the club are saying it’s not Melbourne driving this so it sounds like it’s not as though we are offering him up, he has said he’s open to a move if a deal can be done.
-
Farewell Dean Kent
That’s his value, not what it’d take to get him. Saints seriously overrating their list
