WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
I'm personally not in favour of this but will float it anyway.. could we potentially shop Nev around as part of the deal to get Langdon and hang on to pick 20? I personally think Nev will bounce back and have a strong year, but if we feel he's on the way down, pick 20 might be pretty handy to hang onto.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
I've been thinking about this one a bit and he'd be very handy rotating from wing to high half forward, his height makes him a serious threat, playing on guys like Gaff if they aren't accountable he could become a serious offensive weapon drifting forward.

Billy Stretch
He's got great training standards, and seems like a wonderful young man but just doesn't quite seem to be an AFL level player. he's a very good VFL player at this stage. if you as an outside mid can't break into a side with no outside mids consistently you're maybe just not quite up to it.

Caleb Serong (Drafted by Fremantle)
I think if we go to the draft with pick 3 i'd be drafting Lachie Ash, assuming Anderson is gone.
-
Chris Masten
Depends on price doesn't it? if the question is would i rather Masten or Wagner or ANB in the side i think it's a pretty easy answer if we get him as a DFA and no huge $$

Brad Hill
Saints are gunna get shafted here and cough up pick 5 for him.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Just saw on the news that we've shown interest in Weightman as high as 2/3 potentially so if the club realistically thinks he might be there at pick 11 i think we'll do the split. because they'd get a bloke they wanted and another free hit at the draft, plus probably something else from the Giants as well.

Rory Laird
I think Langdon will play further up the ground so that won't be a factor. but i think we desperately need on field leadership and experience and Laird can provide that and is a proven performer for right now. Keith i quite like as a player personally and would rate him ahead of Sam Frost. Frost does some special things but his fundementals of footy aren't brilliant.

I'd still take King over Anderson, just, gotta go with the key forward.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I think they'd be much better off addressing the problems they have before they make a stand. King imo is going to leave this year, or next year, and with pick 3 on the table they might as well get max value and hope the off field changes enable them to keep their top 3 picks

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
you're probably right, i just think it's foolish on their part.
- If Adelaide sacked Pyke and made a long-term offer to lure Goodwin
-
The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
See i think the opposite. if they think it's likely King will go as soon as he can they may want to maximize value now, and pick 3 is certainly a good return. would be a win-win for both clubs.

Rory Laird
Offer them our 2020 first rounder for Keith and Laird and back ourselves to improve next year.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Langdon, Elliot, Tomlinson, pick 3/11&13 just need to find one or two good on field leaders to boost that area and it's a very productive off season.

Jones should relinquish captaincy now - Tex did.
Exactly. on field leadership in my opinion is our biggest concern in terms of list changes heading into 2020. not sure of who would be suitable targets to fill that role but it's definitely something we need to address.
-
Jones should relinquish captaincy now - Tex did.
I think it's at the very least debatable. our on field leadership is a mess for a team that should be much more advanced than the Suns.
-
List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
I don't think Oliver is quite on the level of the guns mentioned above. his best certainly matches them but i felt like he never really hit that this season, for whatever reason. an absolute gun though.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Heard that, he seemed very confident. i hope he's right. Noah Anderson would look very good in red and blue.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Big fan of Stephens, fits the outside run need perfectly. and weightman does some insane things. Sadly i see both being drafted before the two picks. it really depends on who the club thinks is likely to be there to what value the trade has. I think Lachie Ash for example would be a great get at pick 3

Our club has the worst leadership of any club in the AFL. even the Suns with Witts, Swallow, Miller etc have better on field leadership. we need to invest in someone like a Nick Maxwell figure to come into the club and develop leadership from our whole list. it doesn't matter who is captain and who isn't, the underlying problem is our lack of leadership across the board, it's why we are so inconsistent, slow to react to opposition plays and consistently lose in the worst ways possible. my personal opinion is we should recruit 2 on field leaders from other clubs, must be proven leaders, invest in a specific leadership coach/mentor and finally instill some ruthless, professional AFL standards at the club that we haven't had for a very long time, if at all.

Farewell Sam Frost
I suspect the GCS would jump at him unfortunately.
-
Farewell Sam Frost
Third round pick and Issac Smith sounds like a good deal to me, i think we could use the experience.
-
Farewell Sam Frost
He's a funny unit Sam. he athletically is amazing but he does some bizzare things, i think he's a talanted individual but the amount of times he flies at balls he shouldn't and does weird things with ball in hand. you kinda want guys who just fill a role, especially down back and i think Sam is probably one who has currency,

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
What's his kicking like? i've honestly not seen that much of him, i always thought he seemed a bit like a high endurance high half forward type, maybe a third forward, but from memory he's played some reasonable footy down back as well?
