  1. Well I'll go against the grain and say YEP I'd take him. Although, only on the basis that he is the best player to suit Neeld's mantra, and if he has got things together then he is worthy of a second chance with one year in the rookies. In relation to was he any good? He was nothing fabulous before he was dropped but like the rest of the Tuck family they were late developers. His brother at Richmond is a gun and if he has shown excellent form at the Werribee Tigers and could turn out like his brother or Dad, that would please me. Thanks for the article stuie good food for thought.
  2. Well it's kind of obvious this has been going on for quite some time. Speaking to a friend on the inside he said the amount of cocaine residue in the toilets at the Brownlow would astonish most people, although I guess it's no different to a fancy bar on Chapel St. Although put it this way, you have young men with more dollars than sense that wants to get some for of high like that of a few too many beers, a player can take a certain elicit drug and be on water all night, he wont get the bloating or the same detrimental effects of hangover like that of beer. Obviously that [censored] is no good for you, but from a recovery perspective its far superior in order to get back to the training track. Why do you think so many players go to Vegas on end of season trips... as Dane Swan would say "shows". Unfortunately its sad reality to football and I hope clubs implement often drug testing and programs to eradicate the problem.
  3. Is it official? Are they picking him up in the PSD?
  4. May I just say I am just as excited about this kid as I am with Jimmy Toumpas. Strange I know, it's probably the unknown factor about him. I like his style of play and the concept of the large amount of travel he had to do. I like how he missed out on the WA state team due to a travel bug and wondering if he made that side would he of got to us at pick 48... I doubt it. I am also curious how he will develop in a full time professional environment, on the basis that Toumpas and Viney develop as predicted I hope this guy pulls a Tom McDonald, Tom Rockliff (initially rookie) or Dane Swan and come out of no where as a late draft pick. I have sat on these thoughts for a couple days now, trying to take any emotions out of it and think of it from a logical perspective, and YES I think he is a fantastic selection in regards to where we got him.
  5. I thought this article was interesting, although I think Port are well and truly on their way down and may very well end up below GC and/or GWS in 2013 due to the losses of certain leadership like Rodan and Chaplin, and players like Pearce and McCarthy (no disrespect, R.I.P), new coach with a new game plan, low supporter base, I think Wine's first two years in the AFL will not be pleasant. With that said, I hope he hates it over there and his mates like Viney and Toumpas can persuade him to get back home and join the Dees. I guess time will tell, and good on his positive attitude.
  6. Thought about it a little bit more today and after reading Swampfox's post regarding a pick up of a 200 cm ruckman, they may very well select Hannath if he trains well (of course), but the second selection may very well be Ben Warren after hearing all that chatter during trade week.
  7. Mate! DELETE this thread your ruining my chances (^^,)
  8. VOTED OTHER: I believe the club will continue with the selection of mature aged talent. Ben Ross (24 yo, 179 cm, current weight unknown), 2012 J.J. Liston Trophy recipient. If they choose another younger bottom aged player I would be happy with Sam Colquhoun or Anthony Bonaddio. Personally I don't have time for Dayle Garlett, the interview below alone puts me right off.
  9. Initially I was very shattered upon hearing the Gysberts trade. Although I wanted Pedersen at the time, I thought we overpaid. Since then I got speaking to a certain friend on the inside who currently works for another club, yet use to work in one of Neelds old organisations, knowing him personally. At the start of trade week they got speaking, Neeld informed him that Gysberts was most likely going to be traded and bluntly said because "he is a soft c*** (another name for a rooster)" who crumbled under pressure (from Neeld & co.), who didn't take kindly to critsism and didn't believe his game needed improvment where they pointed it out. Upon hearing this my views have changed, I still believe Gysberts is a good player with plenty of "potential", although "potential" can only take a player so far and doesn't always translate into consistant onfield talent. I'm glad Neeld & co. are taking this hard nosed appraoch and hopefully Pedersen can step up a massive notch this year. Let's just say I'm not exactly dissapointed by the trade anymore.
  10. Can't think of anyone better, an MFC supporter growing up, a responsible young man, I'm glad to see it go to someone that truly deserves it. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/dee%20tv/tabid/8667/default.aspx#playvideo#playvideo
  11. Nice find, lets hope he can sneak through and the recruiting department is onto it.
  12. Also Wines has previously run a 2.98 in the 20 m via the AIS.
  13. If Tom Temay gets there I would be happy to land him, other than that I hope the Dees get in early to land Ben Ross (VFL). We already have too many youngsters on the list.
  14. Haha don't make me laugh, and thank you for the kind inbox message.
  15. Ease up keyboard warrior, your at it again. Leave that up to the mods to decide.
  16. I'll be honest, I don't know much about him. All I know is he was initially sacked the morning of the Geelong thrashing and he had some form of conflict with the old football department. I don't know the ins and outs, I don't know what his views were on this so called tanking debacle, but all I can say is I love his passion he shows for the club and I like what he has done in relation to the new club sponsors and facilities at AMMI park.
  17. I agree, I wouldn't be too disappointed if it occurred in the 2013 draft (end of next year), but I would be horrified if it occurred in this years draft. I can see a huge up side to having the likes of Viney and Wines in the same team, I would love to see them train hard together, push one another, influence others, and win the contested footy for the next decade together. Whereas 2014 we will have Hogan come through and the core list should be getting closer to their prime football age (24-26). Of course I don't want any picks taken, but if it does happen I hope it makes or helps the club develop that winning culture we keep hearing of. Who knows they may even get good at player recycling.
  18. Depends if pick 4 is taken, I am trying my best not to get my hopes up until Nov. 19th. In regards to this, it's not exactly the case so far it's Scully + 2011 pick 12 for Mitch Clark (freed money in the salary cap) + Dom Barry, Chris Dawes, and Hogan (or more technically pick 4 over Hogan). Without his departure non of these would of been possible.
  19. Mark my words, Wines will be a star! Appears very switched on with a good head on his shoulders, a real blue chip player. If the dees can land him I will be over the moon. His "Pick me" interview via the Hun reminds me of the American NFL draft pick #1 and current quarterback star Peyton Manning. Please note the comparisons. Interviews: Wines via Hun as previously discussed. http://www.heraldsun...f-1226509826657 NFL fraft bust about Ryan Leaf, but see his comparison with Manning (then compare Wines with Manning, very similar attitutes and work ethic). 20. Lets draft skinny bean poles... because ummm they haven't reached their full potential, they are all "class".
  21. Thanks for sharing Norm Smith's Curse, If this eventuates, I hope it is Gysberts + Pick 49 (with or without) FOR Pick 15 + Pedersen, that seems like a fair trade to me. I certainly hope it's not Gysberts FOR Pedersen + Pick 38 or 39. Saying all this, I rate Gysberts and I also want Pedersen. Furthermore, would we be able to land Stringer at 15... I bloody hope so! Although it wouldn't surprise me if he went as early as pick 5 or 6 (the other being Wines or O'Rourke) by the Dogs as he has trained there, it's said they were very impressed with him and they missed out on Hogan (screaming for a ready to go forward target).
  22. Bare minimum I would want 8 wins, more so 10. I see clubs like Port, Dogs, and the Saints going down the ladder, and of course the Suns and Giants to remain down the bottom for the next season or two. So we are easily capable of getting above those. Of course I would love to see us shut down Essendon again (I HATE THEM!), and we could certainly give the Lions, Tigers, and Kangas a run for their money. So yes anymore than 10 wins in 2013 will make me very pleased come 2014.
  23. I agree with this, however I think Williams should be extended, he too works his ass off! So far Sheahan and Lawrence have been cut, and Evans to me is a 50/50.
  24. @maurie, the same person to shoot down Nudge.... i feel sorry for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRSYhLn4RCI
