  1. Furthermore this is a "JAY CLARK" article, whenever I see his name above one I consider it just as worthy as the scrunched up pieces of paper in my recycling win.
  2. LOL you lost me when I read your title. This idea would sink quicker than the titanic if executed.
  3. I agree with baysidedave. I think sacking Neeld now will only cause greater problems. The club has already lost $1.5m with the sacking of Schwab if they sack Neeld they will need to pay him out too. Wait to the end of the year. Or a few games from if they can get a decent replacement in so we can retain some of the players.
  4. And rightly so they should be favorites. The suns are in fine form and have Gazza. We on the other hand lack fitness and a decent game plan. I've tipped the suns, the only thing that will make us win will be if Chris Dawes can have a good game and convert the I50s into goals.
  5. Couldn't agree more! It's also a statement to say "we don't believe Trengove can do it". I'm also sick of the bloody fans, 2 years ago everyone was screaming for "Captain Jack [Trengove]" to replace "Green" by which the year before they were screaming his name. So now again when the going gets tough they all change their minds and scream for "Jones". The club needs to stick by their guns, it creates a poor culture if they keep changing this crap around.
  6. Is there any footage of it? I haven't seen it yet.
  7. Sack the bloody lot of them! Put the money into a decent senior coach with the ultimate success to their name (Clarkson, Roos, Mathews), then the three underlining assistants must have some decent credentials and not be first year coaches (e.g. Garry Ayres, knows the AFL system and has done a blo*dy good job in the VFL without any AFL affiliate). Then the supporting coaches of the underlying assistants can be the quality past players new to coaching (like your Ling or Kirk as stated previously). So in saying all this obviously there is the problem of getting that decent senior coach, but I think the basic plan is to rid the rookie coaches and get seasoned coaches with experience and decent credentials to fill the gaps. We can then have faith the the coaching staff is getting the job done. Also I don't mind Dave Misson and Craig in their current positions (on the basis the new coach is comfortable with that).
  8. I like this one from Kern Hinkely (@Kernpls) off Twitter: https://twitter.com/Kernpls/status/328810718998700034/photo/1
  9. I read this earlier today in the websites article, does anyone know anymore to this and what kind of injury he suffered? "Youngster Jesse Hogan went off early with an injury and did not return." http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-04-27/casey-claims-top-spot I hope all is fine and he is up and running again next week!
  10. I just hope this bloke can return to his all Australian form and fast!
  11. Your on a forum old cobba consisting of passionate supporters, get use to it. I must apologies that my 145 odd posts limits the strength of my views, if only I had 915 people might actually listen to me.
  12. WOWZA this is the first I've heard of this, where did this rumour originate. I guess Greene never struck me as that kind of bloke. GOOD NEWS for us then I guess lol
  13. All I know is we are in dire need of some quality mids. People are getting their undies in a twist because we got Toumpas over Wines. Mitchell will solve that issue with he and Viney as the in and under hard ball getters, a pair that will be able to stand up and challenge the so called "GWS juggernaut" and GC Suns teams in years to come. With Hogan coming in we will have a very nice forward line set up. I think the odds are significantly against us trying to recruit a STAR for our mid, so the club needs to think outside the box (like they did to get Clark) and from a risk/ benefit perspective Mitchell is a real go-er. As for doing harm poaching from a premiership side it doesn't worry me at all. If the club wants to be strong they need to do it and not shy away. They need to set the structures in place to poach other teams and back themselves in to retain players that want to stay (obviously a few wins will help that).
  14. I believe both will most likely be delisted or traded by the end of the year.
  15. They weren't touted as good picks. Only the club said that like every club does about their picks. It was a horribly weak draft and I was informed that pretty much after 15 clubs were guessing (for potential AFL classed players). Tynan himself was alright but my scout friend told me that Taggert was a horrible pick, he thought he should have been selected in the rookies. Although the club he works for is not much better.
  16. Yes he was - but Garry Ablett was also a F/S for Geelong, and Dale Thomas has also stated ultimately he wants to stay at the Pies although due to cap pressure if the right deal can't be struck he'll walk (and he is more likely to join the likes of Malthouse at the Blues than us). So going back to Tom Mitchell my point being is he is available and as a previous F/S doesn't mean he is now off limits, so he should be considered. YES he did knock back a decent deal from GWS as a potential U17 recruit, but now that the Sydney salary cap is stretched to the limits we can throw an offer at him that they can't match. His father himself wasn't a one club player, and his family currently reside around Melbourne, he played under 16's footy with Viney so that too could help sway him. Like the vast majority of trades clubs discuss they never eventuate. But this is definitely worth consideration, especially due to the fact that your high end clubs with tight salaries can't scoop us on this one due to their recent on field success.
  17. I would rate him in the same light as your O'Meara, Coniglio and Viney. U18 footage. A nice article from last year: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/sydney-swans-ball-magnet-tom-mitchell-just-warming-up/story-e6frf9jf-1226366961316
  18. Hi all, I know it's early in the season but I am curious what everyone thinks of Tom Mitchell as trade in target? Obviously he has suffered from some injuries however from what I have seen and read this young man is phenomenal. He grew up playing U16s with Viney, an absolute ball magnet and already well built. His father Barry still works in Melbourne and a decent offer from the Dees just might tear him away from the Swans already tight salary cap. So what are your thoughts? We are in need of some gun midfielders still with plenty of years left in them to match our list, yes there is D.Thomas but every club will chase him and Melbourne's recent track record might not exactly enthuse him. So thinking outside the box I think Mitchell could be a real go-er (Owww yeah he should be out of contract at the end of this year unless if he initially signed a 3 year one). Thoughts? Discuss, post the videos if people please.
  19. Yeah I agree, I think Eddie is a bit of a w**ker but my gosh i wish he was a Melbourne supporter. I think he does a bloody great job for his club.
  20. From what I can tell if Trengove has either intravenously or orally taken the AOD9604 synthetic peptide he will be in big trouble. IF he has used it in the form of a cream as licensed by Phosphagenics and sold as "BodyShaper" in such outlets like Myers, David Jones, Pulse Pharmacies, Priceline, Terry White Chemists, he has nothing to fear. My take on the text messages is that it's the later of the two.
  21. I'm for it, the Irish experiment worked - even though their game was a little more similar to AFL. North are trying it with Eric Wallace (a no namer in the states), I believe the first team to "crack" the US market will be smothered in riches, if this guy already has that much publicity I say do it, and if the AFL want to cover his wage DO IT! Nothing to loose really, employ someone to help guide him.
  22. We need an experienced midfield coach that can build a good rapport with his players. Gary Ayres would be ideal for that job.
  23. I think Xavier Ellis is worth a crack - Should come cheap and starved of opportunity. I have seen a couple of his good games and he's bottom aged FA. Of course this is aside from your big names like Thomas, Franklin, LeCrae, Hodge, and Mitchell.
  24. DUDE you must be high! Perfectly fine handball. All I can say is Bruce shits me to tears.
  25. What really annoys me is that he came second in the Larke Medal behind Whitfield and averaged 24+ disposal in the championships. I find it frustrating how media outlets and recruiters overate the likes of speed, for example I rated Wines far higher than O'Rourke pre-draft. As Shifter Sheahan say you draft the players with runs on the board, e.g. The basics and stats. Look at Lenny Hayes he was never the fastest bloke, but he knew how to get the ball, how to tackle and how to use it under pressure. Wines is similar in that contest just not as nimble but more bash. With all that said I rated Toumpas higher than Wines at the time (I had 1. Whitfield, 2. Toumpas, 3. Wines, and 4. Stringer (although was unsure really as I think he in the long run will turn out to be the No.1 of that draft). I thought we were lucky to get him at pick 4 and not to mention Viney was already good friends with him from his days in Adelaide. So it's a shame to see him killing it, prior to the season start I was hoping and think PA would spend the next two years on the bottom of the ladder and hoping we could recruit Wines at the end of his contract. I'm sure the Melbourne boys probably thought a similar thing.
