  1. Don, I'm with you on this one. The verbal tirade would hurt Witt's confidence. Buckley needs to learn when to use verbal v physical motivation. A headbutt to Witt's forehead would have motivated Witt's to step up a gear, the jumper grab, finger pointed verbal spray only served to dent his already fragile confidence.
  2. As far as I'm concerned there is only one team I care what position it finishes in and that is Melbourne. I want us to smash North by as much as possible.
  3. The team context is quite different though. An 'appropriate sanction' could not be one that causes a club with more than 100 years history to fold and has massive flow on impacts to the league. The impact of Lance's team being banned on cycling is pretty negligible, e.g. another team would simply fill lances reams place, compared to losing a 100 year old team in an 18 team league which requires 18 teams for its primary revenue source.
  4. Given the EFC situation is unprecedented and the flow on impact any player infractions will have on the club I would think ASADA and WADA would largely allow the AFL to apply club sanctions that do not further damage the league. I could not see WADA stepping in to ban the entire club from the competition.
  5. This said im happy to support the cause and not park at the airport
  6. I don't think Saty announces himself as Demonland's rep. He simply takes an interest and lets the players know he posts on supporters forum and asks whether it is ok to post what they say.
  7. He was also crucial when we beat Essendon in 2012 with a nice link up hand pass. Very dependable player who still has some good scope for improvement.
  8. It's unbelievable and quite hilarious how concerned some people on here re Saty's joke to Jesse re 30 pages of nervousness on DL I couldn't imagine Jesse and his Manager at the table finalisig a new contract only to say "There is one matter we'd like to clear up. Apparently some deprived supporters on DL are nervous and have a 30 page thread on Jesse's bake injury. We feel that with the added expectations that come with such a thread that Jesse wishes to return home". FFS relax, we've got this.
  9. Id ask why the "journalist" did not attach a copy of the original agreement to their article. It looks like they cherry picked some words to string together a sentence that makes it look like ASADA did not honour its agreement.
  10. I thinn the previous regime built up our standards from a training perspective but were not able to translate it into the field. Roos has instilled confidence and belief in the group as well as making it clear what each players role is and how the perform it.
  11. Chip has improved with each game as a forward. I reckon its possible he may end up as a permanent fixture in our forward line for the remainder his career.
  12. It will soon be every man for himself at the EFC. When this is all over the Tassie Cannibals will be a suitable name to remember what once was Essendon.
  13. The less media on us the better. For too long we have been propped up during the off season only to fall flat on round 1 and underperform for the remainder of the season. I'd rather us make the finals in a couple of years and have he media say wow where did Melbourne come from.
  14. Surely HH should be commended for offering to sell his soul for a win. Very selfless... let him stay
  15. How would Longmire know what Roos' first priority is?
  16. I hope our crowd treat the Essendon players with respect today. The players, while im not suggesting are innocent, have performed admirally under difficult circumstances over the past 16 months. Little and co on the other hand should be treated with contempt for their bully boy tactics and continuing to drag the game through the mud rather than taking responsibility. The supporters, while being among the worst in the league, I think will be brought back to earth over coming months without us having to remind them. Go Melbourne.
  17. Well said, Essendon's hierarchy which precided over the program betrayed the players. For the good of sport the players must be banned if they breached the WADA code even though they were let down so badly by their club.

Golden Wok dim sims would make a good sponsor
  19. It wouldnt surprise me if the club and Frawley have already agreed to terms to remain a demon, along with confirmation that Roos will stay on as senior coach for a 3rd year, but that the club is focussing on some continued onfield results before making an announcement. The club feels completely different from the outside and I can only imagine how it is inside the club. I'd expect Frawley to sign a long term contract before September.
  20. Spencer was good in his early games this season and had 1 - 2 poor games before Jamar came in which I suspect he was playing with his ankle injury. He is an honest ruckman who is very competitive and should continue to improve. A good signing..
  21. Dunn was one of few players who improved during 2012 and 2013. Full credit to him for stepping up during our darkest years and hopefully becomes a 200+ gamer.
  22. This is great news - Dunn has always been a versatile competitive beast and with his maturity looks set to become the 150+ game clubman that our side a sorely lackes in the past. Love that he believes we will make finals in the coming years.
  23. Mods - Can this thread be locked. The sensitive nature of Mitch's illness and retirement should be respected, as the media have done, and while it is a valid question much of the speculation on here is unhelpful.
