  1. I reckon we will beat Adelaide in a tight contest and then lose to GC.
  2. We have the ideal run home with only one team out of the hunt for finals being GCS. The other 5 matches will be finals like intensity against the teams we will likely face in September so no point in playing finals if we cannot beat them, with the toughest matches v WCE and GWS to compete for top 4 position. I'll be at GMHBA next weekend to watch what promises to be a great contest.
  3. On current form you would back Brisbane v Cats and probably North.
  4. Id say that is less than what West Coast will offer him and about half what North Melbourne would offer. I think it will cost us $1 million a season on a 4 - 5 year deal.
  5. I think Gaff is exactly what we need. Will be interesting to see how this plays out and if Gaff nominates us what it would take so that West Coast do not match our offer. I'd imagine a club will not want to hold onto a player who wants to play somewhere else but they will expect decent pick via free agency compensation. Assuming they finish in the top 4 this would mean a pick directly after their first round pick, so a pick in the order of 16 - 19 or later if Tom Lynch heads home to Vic. I'm also assuming it will cost $1 million per season on a long term, e.g. 4 year deal, to lure Gaff which I would think West Coast could match. If you were West Coast would you let Gaff go for a late first round pick?
  6. I think Murphy resigned with Carlton a couple of weeks back.
  7. I reckon we will win all of our remaining games. Port are a seriously good side and we have one facet of our game that needs some work, how we bring the ball imto our forward 50. Viney working back to his best, adjusting our backline without Lever, Tom Bugg ramping up in the VFL, important tests v Geelong, Sydney and Westcoast will plant us firmpy in the top 2-3.
  8. Jolimont is the perfect spot. Gregory, my driver, can park and wait at the Sofitel while I have a scotch or two with the lads before travelling home. Swan street is a bit of a cess pool.
  9. What if we were to just start training on it and when the cricket boys turn up tell thm to pi55 off?
  10. Wingard might be worth looking at
  11. I reckon we make a play for Cale Morton via the rookie draft. Has some jets on him, runs all day, is skillful by foot on either boot and while he looks like an altar boy, with the right environment would be a contested beast. #freecale
  12. Straight swap for JKH?
  13. When I heard about the Crows camp and the bus experience I thought there was a bit of Lance Armstrong about it.
  14. I would suggest that McCartney on rhe bench mwans we can sub him into the game for James Harmes. Also why Viney will be on bench. This I know.
  15. We don't want to play games on this one. Hold firm re a first and second round pick and negotiate a swap of late picks and deal will be done. We have a good reputation for being fair and transparent during trade period and if we muck around it could backfire.
  16. I like that intro. AFL should run with it.
  17. I'm all for Hird presenting the Norm Smith medal given he is next in line to award the medal. Time to let it go people.
  18. We don't need Ben Brown. Let's bring back Michael 'Juice' Newton and only play him vs North for the first half only. He would take pack marks and kick 4 goals before we put the sub vest on him.
  19. I'm not a lawyer but so think it's quite simple: 1. Players were given substances in an off site clinic as part of a performance program. 2. They signed waivers which listed vague substances which could be interpreted as either harmless or harmful, which were cleared by football department whom the players relied upon (from duty of care perspective). 3. Players have documented record of soft tissue injuries consistent with unsafe variety of vague substances. 4. Club in effort to mitigate its and AFL culpability claim no records and that all substances given were safe, despite not being able to prove what they were. Surely balance of probabilities would dictate that the substances given were harmful variety and if side effects linked to harmful substance variety include birth and child development issues identified it should be pretty much an open/shut case. Am I missing something?
  20. Can we offer up Dawes and Terlich?
  21. The staging problem could be easily solved by reporting players for staging and ensuring that upon review they are referred directly to the tribunal and if the player is found guilty they miss at least 2 weeks, increasing for repeat offences. The advantages of dealing with this problem via report is that the umpires can focus on the high contact while the tribunal can ensure that players are sanctioned for such behaviour without adding a dimension for umpires to assess during the game.
  22. Could we just put Melksham in Terlichs number and play him as Terlich. Woukd anyone notice?
  23. I reckon people underestimate Melksham because he has a rude head. We are seduced by Howes spekkies. Ill put it to all on demonland that Melksham is worth more than Howe.
  24. A WADA holiday will mean he has a year to get his face sorted.
