Threat to runners
I seem to be alone in liking that runners are out there and that they are able to do shifty stuff like guard space. It creates a talking point during the week, kind of like holding the ball interpretatioms, the MRO and its various interpretations of similar actions that keep us talking. I also like that suspensions caused by misdemeanours and accidental or careless acts make players ineligible for Brownlows and apply to both regular seasom and finals so that the MRP manufacture a reason why the player should not be suspended, while creating precedents that create talking points for years to come. The AFL media machine is genious.

Mr Jones
We could pull a North and announce his retirement after round 23 on the eve of finals. I reckon Jones has a few years left in him and as others stated will move to the half forward flank.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 17
6. Gawn 5. Brayshaw 4. Hogan 3. Oliver 2. Lewis 1. Petracca Been really impressed with Petracca's lift in intensity the past couple of games, Harmes contest work and reliability when he plays back and Fritch's competitiveness and cleanness. I reckon we are building nicely in run to the finals.

Run home to Finals - 2018
We have the ideal run home with only one team out of the hunt for finals being GCS. The other 5 matches will be finals like intensity against the teams we will likely face in September so no point in playing finals if we cannot beat them, with the toughest matches v WCE and GWS to compete for top 4 position. I'll be at GMHBA next weekend to watch what promises to be a great contest.

Run home to Finals - 2018
On current form you would back Brisbane v Cats and probably North.

Losing Jack Viney
Bb it may appear that im drawing a long bow but hear me out. 1. Viney's toe didn't flare up until after Pert's appointment was announced. 2. He has brought Collingwoods injury woes here with him. 3. The fish rots from the head. 4. Stop the boats. 5. It's the vibe, its Marbo. I hope this clears things up.

Losing Jack Viney
This has Gary Pert's grubby fingers all over it
- Last chance for Kennedy-Harris?

Jared Polec
Polec would be good. He has a bit of a rude head, a bit like Melksham, and you need a couple of these types running around to inject some heat and spite into the match.

Andrew Gaff
Id say that is less than what West Coast will offer him and about half what North Melbourne would offer. I think it will cost us $1 million a season on a 4 - 5 year deal.
-
Andrew Gaff
I think Gaff is exactly what we need. Will be interesting to see how this plays out and if Gaff nominates us what it would take so that West Coast do not match our offer. I'd imagine a club will not want to hold onto a player who wants to play somewhere else but they will expect decent pick via free agency compensation. Assuming they finish in the top 4 this would mean a pick directly after their first round pick, so a pick in the order of 16 - 19 or later if Tom Lynch heads home to Vic. I'm also assuming it will cost $1 million per season on a long term, e.g. 4 year deal, to lure Gaff which I would think West Coast could match. If you were West Coast would you let Gaff go for a late first round pick?

I think Murphy resigned with Carlton a couple of weeks back.

Run home to Finals - 2018
I reckon we will win all of our remaining games. Port are a seriously good side and we have one facet of our game that needs some work, how we bring the ball imto our forward 50. Viney working back to his best, adjusting our backline without Lever, Tom Bugg ramping up in the VFL, important tests v Geelong, Sydney and Westcoast will plant us firmpy in the top 2-3.

Umpire Report
I dont mind that interstate clubs have the Noise of Affirmation as it creates a bit of controversy. It was a cracking game, we fell short largely due to composure with our kicking into 50, have something to work on next week and will play in September if we are good enough. Lets create our own Noise of Affirmation next weekend at the G.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Jolimont is the perfect spot. Gregory, my driver, can park and wait at the Sofitel while I have a scotch or two with the lads before travelling home. Swan street is a bit of a cess pool.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
What if we were to just start training on it and when the cricket boys turn up tell thm to pi55 off?

Andrew Gaff
I reckon we make a play for Cale Morton via the rookie draft. Has some jets on him, runs all day, is skillful by foot on either boot and while he looks like an altar boy, with the right environment would be a contested beast. #freecale

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Straight swap for JKH?

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
When I heard about the Crows camp and the bus experience I thought there was a bit of Lance Armstrong about it.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
I would suggest that McCartney on rhe bench mwans we can sub him into the game for James Harmes. Also why Viney will be on bench. This I know.
- The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
We don't want to play games on this one. Hold firm re a first and second round pick and negotiate a swap of late picks and deal will be done. We have a good reputation for being fair and transparent during trade period and if we muck around it could backfire.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
I like that intro. AFL should run with it.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
