  1. I reckon May will be fine. That Simon Goodwin commented on it indicates that he has the coaches support, especially given Goodwin generally plays a straight bat on such matters. Lets wait and see what the club does. Also if we do appeal i believe the rules have changed so that May does not risk a longer suspension but instead the club have to pay a fine in the event we are unsuccessful.
  2. Jaded, i dont think May crossed the line. The AFL media machine has what it wants, a controversy on the eve of the season. We will appeal and May will be free to play round one, but not before it sends the fans into raptures and gives the media something to fill the media cycle. Relax, we've got this.
  3. We probably would have paid under the soft cap while Neeld was coach
  4. Scott can carry on as much as he likes along with the holy trinity, we will smash them.
  5. We will easily make 55k and 60k is possible this year. 70k next year if we win flag this year and continue form. Into next year.
  6. Its pure speculation that the faces have bodies, i call fake news
  7. I couldn't disagree more. The AFL cannot take an ethical stance on illicit drugs that only applies to the players. Im fine that PED testing should only apply to players but there is no justification to only subject players to illicit drug testing. Everyone under the AFL banner should be subject to the same cultural standards.
  8. Part of the solution needs to be alchohol and ilicit drug testing not only for players but anyone while working for the AFL or Clubs, including coaching and support staff, back office personnel, media (while working at an AFL event or function) and executive management. As it stands the players would see this inconsistency and game the system, where as if you make sure whats good for the duck is good for mother goose then there is at least some integrity about the policy.
  9. I'm not convinced with this 'new' approach of re-signing players before their contracts expire. It was muxh more entertaining when 'he who shall not be named' kept us guessing before going to GWS. And whats with not pinning our future on the draft. The off season was so boring this offseason. Rant over.
  10. Absolutely agree we are well in it. All we nees to do is win both games and gain percentage on Adelaide and we will finish top two. I reckon we are a good chance for the flag and the ladies will launch from our big win over GWS. Our destiny is in our hands.
  11. I reckon 55k is possible if we come out breathing fire and are top 2 mid season
  12. Helmet looks good but needs a good set of ?
  13. Don't write off Jones yet. It was the Semi final v Geelong when he kicked the sealer and his celebration literally caused the whole stadium to shake.
  14. I see your point. Its horrible the way the AFL have set it up where Carlton could be outside the best four teams from a win and % perspective and play in the GF while three teams above them miss out.
  15. I think Plough is right on this. If you finish third in your conference then you dont deserve the right to think about hypotheticals that you dont get to play a grand final because there are at least two teams that finished the regular season above you in your own conference. The farce we have now is that you could be the second top team in wins and percentage yet miss out on finals to Carlton with a win rate of 1/3 and percentage below 80%. The crossover finap would mean that Carlton would need to beat the second team in Conference A to play GF.
  16. Is it possible that the AFL did this on purpose so as to confuse us re their next move?
  17. There might be correlation between stinginess and wealth
  18. Any MCC member who claims they support Melbourne but won't by a membership is a bum
  19. Why cab it when you can use limo service who will wait for you when game finishes
  20. I met one a few weeks ago for a business venture and asked point blank if he had signed up as an MFC member and he said no. I told him our business interests would only progress if he signed up. He laughed and I asked why he was laughing and that I was serious.
  21. You are a problem, scallywag
  22. Apparently we mighy be looking to trade Hogan who has said he is open to returning home to Perth if a mutually agreeable trade can be facilitated. Word is Freo would be the club but apparently their head of football is looking for featgers rather than improving their average list and being diffficult. My sources suggest a trade will either happen or it wont. Stay tuned.
  23. May simply trying to make sure GCS get value from trading him. Not onlike when Chip went to Hawthorn.
  24. Not sure im sold on KK as I cannot pronounce his name. Suggest we go after a Jack or a Smith.
  25. Mahoney could do the deal, shake Bells hands and say "Belly, go f_$k yourself"
