  1. Is he wearing a Freo scarf?
  2. I have it on good authority that Jesse Hogan will attend the B&F on Monday night and when he gets up to make a speech he will don a Freo scarf and launch into an impassioned plea to his teammates to never give up and never surrender, he will then hold up the Freo scarf before setting it alight and declare 'I am Melbourne' thus ending the Norm Smith curse and speculation re his playing future. Mark my word!
  3. Great news, good work JKH!
  4. What I love most about our team is that the players never winge or complain, they just roll up to the next contest and go harder when it doesnt go their way. In my view Goodwin sets this standard by never complaining about the umpiring which cascades to the playing group. Compare this to Geelong where the coach carries on like a pork chop, Danger flops around and Ablett winges when he cops some contact. To Selwoods credit he doesnt complain much.
  5. I wonder if Jesse Hogan will wear his Freo scarf to the game and he along with Jeff Farmer get the Freo crowd on board.
  6. Draft positions are based on where we finish home and away season. Finals have no bearing.
  7. Thanks, do you know how many priority two members the club has? Im a priority 2 but my three kids are priority 3. Also, if each club has an allocation of 20k each who do the remaining 60k tickets go to? Surely a situation where more than half of the people attending do not support either team is not the ideal atmosphere.
  8. Viney is an absolute bull. Love the unbridled joy on his face belting out the team song.
  9. I feel it too, a stirring in my loins
  10. How do we combat Abblet's persistent wingeing to the umpires every time he cops some physical contact?
  11. An absolute Champion who is loved by both clubs he played for and the public in general. My favourite was his job on Danger in hi first game against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
  12. Tom Morris is an attention seeker and average journalist
  13. My wife and I generally have some bedroom action after a W and tonight will be no exception. I reckon I'll ask her to refer to me as Weiderman.
  14. Sounds reasonable
  15. Troy Maclure being clever suggesting he'd best not bite the hand that feeds him if he not want to sleep with the fishies.
  16. I feel sympathy for Gaff while at the same time believe a significant penalty is in order if the AFL is serious about head injuries and assault. What I think should happen: 1. Gaff should be suspended for a minimum 12 games, on the basis that he can demonstrate that he intended to hit AB in the body and not the head. If the Tribunal rules it was intentional then I think 12 month ban is appropriate. Saying this I dont view Gaff as a coward or gutless or any of these things, but rather a good player with a solid reputation who did something really silly that he would massively regret. 2. AFL must suspend any player who punches another player deliberately whether clenched fist or open palm and to the head, chest, stomach etc for at least 1 game. This action should have no place on the football field, can result in incidents like the Houli, Bugg and Gaff hits, and sets a terrible example to juniors. Hearing about people whos lives have been affected by being hit in the head has toughened my stance on this and its not to punish Gaff but to use this as an opportunity to change atitudes re head injuries caused by assaults. Football is dangerous enough without players punching each other off the ball.
  17. Gaff a star and polling well in Brownlow should reduce penalty by 1/3
  18. They would be furious
  19. Gut punches and open palm hits should be stamped out, hand out 1 week suspensions for the most mild impact and the hitting motion will cease. FWIW i dont think Gaff, Bugg or Houli meant to hit their opponents in the face but that the line blurs between body hits and head hits. Get rid of the action.
  20. Im going with 5 weeks. He isnt a pest like Bugg (6 weeks) but is not a celebration of multiculturism like Houli (4 weeks), however this is AFL and as a star player he may also conceivably recieve anywhere between a $1,500 fine and 3 weeks.
  21. Boring - I saw Jones should be a 300 game player for Melbourne and hold up the cup before he retires. Once he has retired he can enjoy what he has helped to build, at Melbourne Football Club and not some AFL franchise, which is not even a club.
  22. Is one of the proposed rule changes that Carlton is not allowed to pkay on Friday nights?
  23. I might be alone on this, but I like Frost in our side in particular the way he spools up when there is some open paddock up ahead he goes for a run and launches the ball. Granted the ball often comes straight back but he is a sight to behold at full gallop.
  24. I have us losing to GC next week, followed by a win over Sydney, loss to WCE and then losing to GWS in a thriller to miss the finals. Werd up?
  25. What if we went after Zac Jones and offered up Tyson and a player/pick? With Sydney's mature mids in their 30's a player like Tyson would be best 22 and play the next 4-5 years in the middle.
