  1. A couple of years ago Roos said noone has ever done what Jessie did in winning the rising star the way he did, and then Mahoney says this. Very Trump like in their language, love it.
  2. An added benefit of May being in his prime is that we have one of Oscar Mc / Frost playing second tall for a couple of seasons before becoming our key defender. It fills a gap and gives us some deoth and scope for development.
  3. Looks fake, photoshop job and a poor one at that, there is noone cheering when he does amazing things its just an empty staduim with bluescreen soecial efdects. Pass.
  4. Cam Cam has been very good for us. A great clubman who was key in some memirable wins.
  5. Is he wearing a Freo scarf?
  6. I have it on good authority that Jesse Hogan will attend the B&F on Monday night and when he gets up to make a speech he will don a Freo scarf and launch into an impassioned plea to his teammates to never give up and never surrender, he will then hold up the Freo scarf before setting it alight and declare 'I am Melbourne' thus ending the Norm Smith curse and speculation re his playing future. Mark my word!
  7. Viney is an absolute bull. Love the unbridled joy on his face belting out the team song.
  8. I feel it too, a stirring in my loins
  9. An absolute Champion who is loved by both clubs he played for and the public in general. My favourite was his job on Danger in hi first game against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
  10. Tom Morris is an attention seeker and average journalist
  11. My wife and I generally have some bedroom action after a W and tonight will be no exception. I reckon I'll ask her to refer to me as Weiderman.
  12. Sounds reasonable
  13. Troy Maclure being clever suggesting he'd best not bite the hand that feeds him if he not want to sleep with the fishies.
  14. I feel sympathy for Gaff while at the same time believe a significant penalty is in order if the AFL is serious about head injuries and assault. What I think should happen: 1. Gaff should be suspended for a minimum 12 games, on the basis that he can demonstrate that he intended to hit AB in the body and not the head. If the Tribunal rules it was intentional then I think 12 month ban is appropriate. Saying this I dont view Gaff as a coward or gutless or any of these things, but rather a good player with a solid reputation who did something really silly that he would massively regret. 2. AFL must suspend any player who punches another player deliberately whether clenched fist or open palm and to the head, chest, stomach etc for at least 1 game. This action should have no place on the football field, can result in incidents like the Houli, Bugg and Gaff hits, and sets a terrible example to juniors. Hearing about people whos lives have been affected by being hit in the head has toughened my stance on this and its not to punish Gaff but to use this as an opportunity to change atitudes re head injuries caused by assaults. Football is dangerous enough without players punching each other off the ball.
  15. Gaff a star and polling well in Brownlow should reduce penalty by 1/3
  16. They would be furious
  17. Gut punches and open palm hits should be stamped out, hand out 1 week suspensions for the most mild impact and the hitting motion will cease. FWIW i dont think Gaff, Bugg or Houli meant to hit their opponents in the face but that the line blurs between body hits and head hits. Get rid of the action.
  18. Im going with 5 weeks. He isnt a pest like Bugg (6 weeks) but is not a celebration of multiculturism like Houli (4 weeks), however this is AFL and as a star player he may also conceivably recieve anywhere between a $1,500 fine and 3 weeks.
  19. Boring - I saw Jones should be a 300 game player for Melbourne and hold up the cup before he retires. Once he has retired he can enjoy what he has helped to build, at Melbourne Football Club and not some AFL franchise, which is not even a club.
  20. I might be alone on this, but I like Frost in our side in particular the way he spools up when there is some open paddock up ahead he goes for a run and launches the ball. Granted the ball often comes straight back but he is a sight to behold at full gallop.
  21. Id say that is less than what West Coast will offer him and about half what North Melbourne would offer. I think it will cost us $1 million a season on a 4 - 5 year deal.
  22. I think Gaff is exactly what we need. Will be interesting to see how this plays out and if Gaff nominates us what it would take so that West Coast do not match our offer. I'd imagine a club will not want to hold onto a player who wants to play somewhere else but they will expect decent pick via free agency compensation. Assuming they finish in the top 4 this would mean a pick directly after their first round pick, so a pick in the order of 16 - 19 or later if Tom Lynch heads home to Vic. I'm also assuming it will cost $1 million per season on a long term, e.g. 4 year deal, to lure Gaff which I would think West Coast could match. If you were West Coast would you let Gaff go for a late first round pick?
  23. I think Murphy resigned with Carlton a couple of weeks back.
  24. Jolimont is the perfect spot. Gregory, my driver, can park and wait at the Sofitel while I have a scotch or two with the lads before travelling home. Swan street is a bit of a cess pool.
  25. What if we were to just start training on it and when the cricket boys turn up tell thm to pi55 off?
