Farewell Brodie Grundy
There is no way we would hand over a 1st round pick for a 29 year old. I could see us offering $700k x 5 years and a second round pick or player.

Good Year
Definitely an opportunity lost fellow chook. Where this year fits in the grander scheme probably depends on what the next few years look like, e.g. if we can manage another flag or two over the next few years it will be seen much more favourably than if we fail to challenge in this period. It is difficult to tell where we sit a week after being out of finals in straight sets after a mixed regular season.

Selwyn Griffith
Hopefully the media can ask the question and get the answer to this important question. It is good to see the DL'ers are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to our performance. Next time Gary Pert or Alan Richardson are on here we should ask whether Selwyn should be on the bench or somewhere else.

2022 Finals Tickets
Agreed LH. I went last week but am not going tomorrow due to kids sport and that by watching at home I get to enjoy it with the kids who are a bit young to regularly attend late games. My household directly accounts for 6 of the 65,000 and I'm sure there are many others in the same situation. The positive with having alot of new members belonging to young families is that they are of the age to grow our membership base over the next generation.

Dees Inside 50s in QF vs Swans
Kudos to the person who has both the attention span and free time to do this.

Training Ground?
Would an alternative be to build our facilities underground beneath the MCG with a full size underground stadium beneath the G. I appreciate this would cost a bit but how awesome would it be. It would also solve the planning problems instantly. The entrance could be a the gates to hell theme.

Training Ground?
OD you may have misunderstood me, I was putting this idea out there in hope that someone else would drive it 😃.

Training Ground?
I'm wondering if there are any marginal electorates with a strong Melbourne supporter base which we leverage to pressure both major parties to announce/support our preferred option for a home base.
-
Training Ground?
We are at a point in this where unless there is already an agreement with the State Government that we will have our facilities in the MCG precinct, they already have one or two agreed options and are working through the details before making an announcement that we need to drive the campaign publicly. It is a ridiculous situation where we have spent club money to assess and present options, such as the Jolimont train yards, and that we backed off due to opposition from a couple of hundred local residents. While there is a process we need to push this sort of resistance when we have looked at all options and found something that works for the majority of stakeholders. If we launched a PR campaign that we are undertaking a feasibility study of the Jolimont site and the benefits it will bring to our club and the city then we could get on the front foot and gather broad public support that nullifies objections from the locals who oppose any development.

Our forwards have gotta kick straight to win matches!
An old saying goes, you don't need to kick goals if you kick enough points. Setup the wall and launch barrels from outside 50.

CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
I'm going to defend ANB. On many occasions he was surrounded by at least 3 Swans players with no support. He works hard and gets in the right spots to defend, link up or make a contest but he's not the sort of dynamic player to win in these sort of situations. ANB fumbled a bit but he wasn't alone.

Farewell Luke Jackson
I'm not going to divulge my sauce, but I have it on good authority that after our Premiership win Jackson will call Goody over to have a drink from the Premiership Cup which Goody will oblige and when Jackson goes to have a drink Goody will say "Nah Dogga drink from this." before taking off his shoe for Jacko to do a shoey. Jacko will finish the shoey in one big gulp and with a big grin say to a reporter "Hey Brus, pass me that pen." and sign a 10 year deal with Melbourne where he will go on to become one of the best midfielders of all time and win numerous Premierships. Believe.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
It's rotten how much state Government funding Geelong Football Club receives for a city of 250k people while Melbourne, as the oldest football club in the world, is still trying to establish our home base in Melbourne. If an announcement is not made as part of the election campaign this year our club needs to pursue all legal options to make sure we get our home.

What's next for Adem Yze?
Because a coach who's Premierships are plentiful is less likely to want another one than one who's Premiership supplies are low.

Mastering Mindfulness
Thanks OG is it possible to write a shorter version of this. I read the first couple of paragraphs but then got distracted and couldn't finish reading. Anyway I have to head off now and do 3 things.

What's next for Adem Yze?
I reckon Essendon might as well bring Hird back as senior coach and then restructure the rest of the organisation. They will struggle to attract other experienced senior coaches and he will get them playing some good football similar to what Voss is doing at Carlton.

Re loading, my experience is that during the loading phase you feel super fit and strong aerobically, but because of the cumulative fatigue you lose some power/burst speed and sharpness. E.g. you can run all day, get from contest to contest, win contested ball, but can lose half a step of burst speed and pressure and it is more difficult to execute skills. Vs Collingwood we won most of the stats but couldn't clear ball from contest (burst speed/skill execution) or shut down their use of the corridor (pressure). Against Brisbane we were both brutal in contest and obliterated them with spread and ball use. I'd expect that we now have any loading behind us (we may have stopped loading weeks ago) and it will now be about maintaining peak condition through September.

What's next for Adem Yze?
I think the new Essendon President is on record stating they are after an experienced senior coach, so I don't think Yze would be looked at.

Clayton Oliver now 2022 Brownlow favourite?
There was a time after Howe left for Collingwood and I would get annoyed that we no longer feature in MOTY awards - a recent stat showed that How has polled for MOTY more than our entire club (and many other clubs) over the past 20 years, and that includes the years he was polling for us. While the Brownlow is more coveted than such junk awards, I'd rather we have a team that can compete for Premierships over 5+ years than win the odd Brownlow, Coleman etc.

CHANGES: QF vs Sydney
Melksham is the General, no way he will be out of the side. I reckon his role has been pivotal to our forward line structure and the way he's playing I don't even think T-Rex gets a look in. Does Sparrow make way for Salem, e.g. with Harmes back in last week and Brayshaw playing midfield the past few weeks we have plenty of grunt.
-
CHANGES: QF vs Sydney
Wrong, our luck charm stays in. Salem needs to go back to Casey and work on his undefeatedness.

NON-MFC: Round 23, 2022
Carlton v Collingwood will be like watching a rat and a pigeon fighting.

Jake Lever - You've done it again!
I think this is what the club value re Lever, he understands what the moment requires and makes good decisions. Hunt is another player who has on quite a few occassions when we've had to go has won a contest, broken free and hit up the right target in our forward 50. Last year I think he matured alot from decision making perspective and he has been very good since returning to the side.
