  1. It's a steep price, but he finded off and flopped to the ground and then held the ball in. Kossie earned the free from his pressure.
  2. How good are Collingwood in discovering Howe as an intercept defender and then trying him as a forward. You never know what you may find playing someone out of position - very brave of them!
  3. In fairness $1 is probably fair value for the product they are selling.
  4. No it wouldn't.

  6. Spot on Mickey, I never used to mind DB when he'd break news or make an observation and ask an analyst what they thought of it but now he is offering up his own analysis. Personally I think he's been salty towards Melbourne ever since Bernie Vince stole his glasses in the urinal at the Brownlow.
  7. While maintaining pressure on the Board and CEO lets them know this is important to us supporters I think putting pressure on State MP's (provided 10's thousands of members do so) is a good way to let our elected officials know this could cost votes in the next election. The challenge would be to have sufficient numbers in a number of electorates that could swing results to an extent the MP's of all parties would support.
  8. Rab D, I agree from a short term perspective but over the medium to longer term the most important figures become how many younger members we sign up, how many of these become rusted on supporters, how many of these rusted on supporters procreate, and how many of their offspring convert to members and supporters. I'd also argue that Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton have more supporters than us because the the cycle from birth to procreation is much shorter among their unwashed masses compared to us and therefore they have a higher effective reproduction rate.
  9. Fox footy think Mark Jamar is Taj's dad 😂
  10. Absolutely Binman. I am all for doing ones research and the best way to diagnose an injury is looking at photos and videos of the players at training. These so called experts with their fancy degrees, x-rays and rehab protocols. I'd much rather listen to the experts who spend large amounts of time in the toilet cubicle at work posting on Demonland.
  11. Settle down Billy, you are being a bit dramatic. Have you considered that Oliver's hamstring injury might be a tendonopathy rather than a muscle strain and that loading it up, as opposed to rest, is the rehab protocol. Sports rehab is an inexact science and our strength and conditioning team have done an excellent job in managing soft tissue injuries over the past few years. While it's frustrating that Oliver has been out for an extended period I think our medicos and strength and conditioning personnel deserve some credit.
  12. Redfox, I find parking a bit of an issue with Marvel and my kids refuse to travel there. Personally I find the place to be lifeless and lacking a soul and would never travel there if not to support my team.
  13. How do we lose access to our main training ground for the last two months of the home and away season. Surely the world cup could be played elsewhere?
  14. Trac is an elite player in every aspect except for kicking goals. He doesn't look comfortable with set shots and when kicking on the run he kicks like he's trying to retain the ball in our F50 rather than kick for goal. A theory I have is that our players in general are being coached to gain territory and retain the ball in our forward 50 to the extent that hitting up targets and finishing is suffering. We have enough talent in our forward half to score heavily but for whatever reason are making a difficult time of it.
  15. On a positive note GWS is now within a game of Freo with better percentage.
  16. It's alot more than $10m. Gillon McLachlan responded to a question in the enquiry where the AFL earns double digit (at least 10%) of its revenue through sports betting. He explained that the AFL earns a % of each bet placed on AFL through one of its betting partners. This means the AFL earns at least $80m from betting and a significant portion of this is subject to how well the AFL is able to promote gambling.

I reckon he would have also moon lighted as a Justice of the Peace, a Marriage Celebrant and ran bus tours.
  18. I'd put Tomlinson on Cameron. He is excellent one on one, has a big tank and will allow May ti play deeper on Hawkins while freeing up Lever to intercept. Hibbo would make sense v Rohan while Lever, Riv and Salo will be able to run off the tip rats.
  19. Rather than spending hundreds of millions of $'s to develop GMHBA stadium for one team the AFL and State Government should have built a new stadium with capacity for at least 70k supporters in the inner West. This would mean Geelong would play its home games there and with an extra game most weeks, compared to Marvel, the NCG tenants would not have to play home games at Marvel. It would also solve the issue of us playing vs Geelong at GMHBA every year not to mention allowing Marvel to be demolished and replaced with a stadium that faces the right way.
  20. I can accept the Mansell suspension noting that in this instance Mansell had no time to do anything other than turn his body away from Aish and the AFL is creating an environment where its more likely for two players to collide head first with each other. Re the Sicily suspension it is the most ridiculous suspension I have ever seen. The fact that Sicily tackled around the waist, that his teammate made heavy contact through the action which impacted how fast McCluggage hit the ground, and that Sicily was upside down during the tackle and so had no ability to slow the force that McCluggage hit the ground should have been enough to avoid suspension. Have a look at Sicily's teammates body contact move McCluggage's torso in one direction while the momentum from the tackle is moving him on the other. Also re Butler I think a 1 week suspension would have been reasonable. Before Blakey was taken to ground it was already holding the ball and Butler didn't need to drive him forward all the way into the ground. In my uneducated view Butler had alot more control in the tackle to bring Blakey down safely than what Sicily did.
  21. I reckon while our approach serves as a template for beating the Pies most teams will struggle to execute this for an entire game. Aside from a couple of costly turnovers early and inaccuracy in front of goal our pressure and ball movement was outstanding across 4 quarters. Most teams might be able to do this for 2 quarters.
  22. Its good to see Jack Viney in the top right quadrant ahead of Petracca and Oliver. Jack's decision making and kicking in our forward half has been outstanding for the past 12 or so months. Would be interesting to see where Fritsch fits in this too as he generally uses the ball really well.
  23. De Goey to go, McStay to stay in the VFL
  24. By blister is it a sun blister or one from a splinter. I'm hoping Maxy hasn't had Clarry in the shop making furniture to keep him busy while he rehabs his hamstring. What a disaster if true.
  25. I cannot see us losing another game this season. Will beat Pies on Monday in a game for the ages and not look back.
