  1. Now now.. they were crucified by that angry Swiss tribunal. They were of course cleared by our independent local mob.
  2. Boy..this is reminiscent of us playing Richmond... stay with them and then they put the foot to the metal. 20 points plus up.... game over. Shame I was enjoying the contest
  3. Do you think they will enforce the follow on if given the opportunity? Hasn't been done for a long time but with the breaks in play yesterday the Australian bowlers will still be reasonably fresh and of course Paine will fear a repeat of the last test.
  4. yes I could have one Gb speed for A$50 but I'm not sure what I would do with it.
  5. did I mention the $40 a month 500Mb fibre internet connection here. Something I can only dream of with my ADSL 2 back in Melbourne
  6. No.. without DeGoey I just don't see them kicking enough goals. They were so much better last year with Cox as their focal point. Can Pendlebury and Sidebottom play blinders again this year as well.
  7. Must say their continual bombing of the ball into the forward line in the first quarter reminded me of something
  8. In Malaysia.. China time so very good for having a sports bonanza 32 degrees and I can hear the waves slowly crashing on the Straits of Malacca. Time for the first G and T of the evening At least I'm getting some use from my Kayo subscription
  9. overseas so I have to change between apps which unfortunately isn't a quick process. And then of course we have qualifying in the Italian GP. A big night
  10. just came back... missed a high tackle and then paid a throw Cricket about to start... channel switching skills required
  11. I think the premiers will come from this side of the draw. WC the only threat on the other side of the draw
  12. Umpiring very disappointing in both games today. If these are our best we have a problem.
  13. Weideman took a few dollars as too did Brayshaw and Tom Mac last year. Add Frost as well. In the case of the last three the problem is that our medium term projections would have had them signing at lower figures but their re-signing co-incided with major form improvements. Lewis and Garlett decreases would have been budgeted for a while. I suspect Jones is one of the first to pay the cost of the unbudgeted increases. Hibberd could be next. The other unknown is the increase in total player payments following the next TV negotiations.
  14. so true we are so often kicking under pressure to a tight contest. If you think about it you only need at most 50% of the team to be good kicks and then the odds favour the lesser kicks giving it to those who can. I believe it's called a gameplan
  15. 19,218 official attendance in a stadium that hold 24k yet so many empty seats..........mmmmmmmmmmm
  16. As an aside these two teams are a perfect example of non clash in their jumpers. So much easier on the eyes
  17. Not sure why they have such problems at the MCG.Their outside run is one of the strongest of any club. A hard ask to beat Tigers or Bears next week. If they get to the GF they will have earned it.
  18. must agree that in the back 15 metres out was laughable
  19. seems like it's continuing... another soft free right in front
  20. I know some of the happy clappers aren't happy when I remind them that many memberships are in fact contras given to sponsors. In our case we have the NT and I'm sure GWS have many if not more. You would like to think that GWS have say 15k paying supporters willing to turn up but obviously not.
  21. would anyone turn up ? Thinking World Aid or the like are you?
  22. noticed a few minutes ago. There is a whole upper section of one of the stands unoccupied
  23. Naughton v Weideman instructive
  24. very disappointing considering their phantom membership of 30,000 The stadium only holds 24,000 according to Wikipedia
  25. this one will work in a fashion but to think you can build cheaply etc in such a major location is fools gold. For those loooking for firm announcements don't hold your breath. There are simply so many stake holders it will be a negotiation minefield. At least the area is empty of residents which is the biggest problem. One example is short/medium term road closures if needed. The Andrews government are particularly sensitive in this area at present and would not allow any medium term road closures in the CBD. (Not saying they are needed in the proposal but it's just an example). Another is the obvious need to redevelop the access to Richmond station from the MCG precinct. The list of peripheral issues goes on. Collingwood will undoubtedly move soon and I am sure they are busy looking at locations now. As we all know these moves are mainly about community alignments etc to garner the federal funding. Then there's the next round of TV rights negotiations..... we may have seen the best of that gravy train.
