  1. Sponsorship contracts are usually full of multiple exposure kickers. Unfortunately I doubt we hit any of them for 2020. Will be interesting to see how much red ink there is in the annual report. A repeat of poor on field performances (especially in the first 5-6 games of the season), lower memberships and compromised crowds due to covid will test us severely in 2021.
  2. When this is all over there will hopefully be a rational consideration of the world's reaction. Unfortunately this relatively mild pandemic has shown us that the world does not act rationally. As an avid student of alternative histories who will write the history of 2020? Could it be Asia?
  3. There really should be a pre game disclosure on this point.
  4. The Giants were built on the model of skilled corridor attack. Zoned ultra defences killed the beautiful beast
  5. Agree... that's why it is a mid level team at best plenty of time to discuss in the off season which I think will start in about 24-48 hours
  6. And another door closes
  7. Just has the look of a mid table team I can count 7 players that you can argue should/shouldn't be in the team. Bad memories of our loss to their Reserve side
  8. Did those who designed the Vic roadmap design that as well. when can I get the gardener back ?
  9. Players wont be allowed in Qld on that basis.... "There are reports that Queensland is considering changing its requirements for opening the borders to New South Wales. The Chief Health Officer’s current recommendation stipulates that NSW has to go 28 days with no cases of community transmission before we would let them back into Queensland. That clock was reset yesterday, when just one mystery case was recorded over the border. It’s understood Queensland Health is now considering halving the number of days to 14, after South Australia announced similar measures yesterday. They are today opening up to the ACT but will not open to NSW until it’s been two weeks of no new community transmission. Queensland Health maintains that it reviews the border restrictions at the end of every month." https://www.mygc.com.au/queensland-considering-changes-to-border-opening-requirements/ As to games in Vic with those numbers crowds would be limited maybe even as low as 25% and at most 50%
  10. They offered two months this year for $2.50 per month. Problem was there was only one game played https://help.kayosports.com.au/s/article/AFL-Club-Member-Offer
  11. Eagles have no desire to win this one. Plane is probably warming up already
  12. In his defence this is what the Saviour of the AFL aka the Qld Premier demanded... not Dan OTHH no way will full crowds be allowed anywhere before you have well and truly hit that threshold The first hurdle will be the cricket and the tennis both of whom are sweating
  13. Until the AFL releases its financials on this comp the non aligned clubs are really in the dark. Wonder if they were consulted. RIP the Burra Burger ? ?
  14. Mad Monday could be interesting.... "The AFL has threatened fines of up to $10,000 or to send home players who behave poorly while holidaying in Queensland after their season ends." https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/behave-or-you-ll-be-sent-home-the-post-season-message-to-afl-players-20200917-p55wga.html
  15. Full attendances will be July at the absolute earliest certainly in Melbourne. Assuming the vaccine is available in say mid Feb And then there's the border issue Melbourne will never pre vaccine go 30 days without community transmission which is what Anastasia was demanding
  16. Did the emails contain any mention of your generosity for 2020 and/or the possibility of no attendance for all or part of 2021
  17. Agree Daniher took unders from Essendon when he last signed... said to be around $600-650k when he could have demanded $800k at least. Assuming Daniher leaves Bombers would still have to find another half million a year. Just shows how hard it is to accommodate these huge salaries unless you are prepared to mortgage the club on a Franklin type deal.
  18. This has to be combined with his salary ask. (What is he asking?) He will be OOC so if Dons won't agree his terms.. North, Adelaide etc are in a good position to pick him up for nothing Essendon may have to take best offer Assuming Viney and T Mac leave the salary could be manageable but tight given our player mix.
  19. It will certainly be post $600k. He signed at his absolute peak. Couldn't help but chuckle when I saw his name being thrown around in the Saad trade thread. No one will take him unless we underwrite a significant chunk of his salary. Assume some team offers pick 100 and to pay $400k... Do you take it ?
  20. Ticketing for the GF will be fascinating to say the least. As for the other finals in Qld one wonders if they will get many The crowd for Pies v Suns last Monday looked almost non existent
  21. Looking forward to the reasoned post season analysis. My thoughts are we need to divide the season into blocks with the first block being recognition of the 2019 base. Another week to go but my present feeling is that we went forward in 2020 but by nowhere near as much as we should have.
  22. Where two or more Clubs at the completion of the Home and Away Matches have accumulated the same Premiership Points and have the same percentage, the following procedure shall apply: (A) the position of the tied Clubs shall be adjusted by accumulating the Premiership Points awarded to the relevant Clubs as a result of the Home and Away Matches played between them and placing the Club with the highest accumulated Premiership Points, first as between them; (B) where the Premiership Points accumulated by the relevant Clubs remain equal, the position of the tied Clubs shall be adjusted by calculating each such Club’s percentage based on the proportion of points scored for and against each such Club from the Home and Away Matches between them and placing the Club with the highest percentage, first as between them; (C) where two or more Clubs still remain tied, the position of the Clubs shall be adjusted by lot conducted and drawn by the General Manager - Football Operations so that any Club drawn ahead of any other Club shall be placed ahead of such other Club or Clubs.
  23. do you think we will be required to register for the grand finals ticket quota as in usual years?
  24. Did your friend ever find out more ?
  25. This is like slowly sinking into the primeval mud as each lifeline disappears A microcosm of MFCSS
