Time to have a talk about Jayden
why 2 years.... just asking One at most if any was my thinking Have a look at LH's wonderful sticky on contracts. We have lots of dying/dead wood to deal with

Camera confusion
If you want to see how well commentary can be done during covid watch Sky's coverage of Formula 1. While the racing is often predictable the commentary and camera work is first class. The commentators are on course in masks. In this sense they don't try to hide the virus..they embrace it visually which in these times is very important.

Assistant Coaches 2021
Correct...the date was usually in August before the end of the home and away and required a club to inform the assistant coaches if they were being renewed. This year I assume the date has been pushed to now. Traditionally all contracts ran IIRC to end October including for players. Not sure what rules there are for public announcements...

Time to have a talk about Jayden
A real divergence of opinion here. Just one thing to add into the mix. In the year that Hunt had his first long VFL stint... was it 2017?.... I watched him closely and even at that level he could not replicate his run and carry.

Time to have a talk about Jayden
Hunt that is... A favoured player for many of us and a sponsored Demonland player as well. Out of contract at the end of this year. My guess is a low one year contract with match incentives but is he worth that and will he try the trade market. Hard decision which will be influenced by who else we let go but interested to hear if others think there is merit in retaining him. On a side note I see Melksham is contracted until end 2022 which is starting to look like one year too many perhaps.

NON MFC: Round 17
A Suns win is not impossible against the Pies. Big Monday night football coming up. Hopefully no Bruce to commentate

NON MFC: Round 17
Come on a quick 4 or 5 goals from our favourite team would be so welcome
-
NON MFC: Round 17
Highest score this year is 119 points with highest winning margin being 75 points. Something for the Dogs to aim at

Go those brown looking ornithological creatures ?

Oskar Baker 2020
If Baker and Petty can become top 15 players in 2021 we will have a far better team. This years three draft picks plus Langdon gives us 6 good players who were not available in 2019. Some hope for optimism in 2021

Grand Final Eve Public Holiday
Increased public holidays are often the sign of a declining economy desperate to get consumers to spend. Japan is a classic example. This holiday has never really made any sense from a "date marking" viewpoint and this year makes even less sense as there is no GF in Melbourne, it's six weeks late and Melbourne is most likely locked down in a manner that prohibits travel outside the metro area. In the scheme of 2020 though I'm beyond caring

Playing teams into form has always been an MFC specialty

Noticed an ad during last nights match by the Gold Coast Tourist organisation. Ranks up there in the bad taste awards

What they're saying down at Olympic Boulevard
I will never forget the cheer squad consisting of the hired orange bananas. Unfortunately MFC gave GWS their first win at the MCG that day ?

NON MFC: Round 17
mini come back from Geelong saved that game from absolute mediocrity. Time to reduce team sizes to 20 or 21 and reduce rotations. Everyone is sick of 30 players in one eighth of the ground

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
Not quite The FD should have realised we had an issue and elevated it to a club spokesman. Clearly flying in on match day to play an entrenched club was worthy of public comment. Think how McGuire or Kennett would have dealt with it
-
Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
There were certainly rumours post 2018 season that Adelaide would have signed him at the end of 2019. We blinked

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
There was this.... Bartlett extended the coach's contract after the 2018 season until the end of 2022 but the prevailing view is that next year Goodwin must reach certain performance targets to move into his final season, which means the coach would enter 2021 in a similar contractual position to Ken Hinkley this year. May make it harder to sack SG this year if the KPI's don't kick in until next year

NON MFC: Round 17
For those still believing in Santa aka MFC making the finals I think we should be supporting the Cats thus increasing the chance of Richmond being fifth and playing them in Qld in the first final as against Eagles in Perth
