  1. Looking at the weather radar that should be the end of the rain Perth. They only had a few mms but it seemed to come at the start of the game. Could be a better second half from the Eagles
  2. do you think he would play better with a haircut like Weid's
  3. 5:2 One was a gimme handball from AVB and he missed one he should have kicked. Weid missed at least 2 if not 3 and had one good snap for a goal
  4. didn't think I'd say it...but in the heat of September there might be a role for the body player like Vandenberg. Very good game today Bradtke down back was interesting. Didn't do too much but didn't make any mistakes. Cannot see any candidate to replace Hibberd next year if needed. May need to trade for that player. Baker is becoming good at this level.
  5. one case in Perth and no crowds at the footy what can one say
  6. no.. injured this game.. he had a shot on goal in the first quarter other than that can't recall many touches
  7. way too slow on transition and going via the boundary line thus letting the backs crowd the Caey forward line. The goal to Brown was the first quick movement this quarter
  8. when are we going to have an easy win Better than a loss though Lots to review from that game
  9. 17-7 inside 50's our way and we're behind
  10. Must agree... Saints rarely had clean possession but they managed to kick some goals. Makes you wonder about the surface. Have not seen so many unpressured fumbles for a while
  11. Meanwhile, Victoria’s public health assessment panel has told the AFL to spread out its fans as sporting crowds grow in the state. Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said the bunching of fans in certain sections, as occurred when Geelong hosted the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium, was not too risky but the league and other sports were told to spread out crowds. Took them a while.... https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/fixture-shuffle-swans-set-to-play-home-game-against-eagles-in-geelong-20210625-p5848h.html
  12. Three infected hairdressers working in a Double Bay salon in Sydney. Around 900 clients impacted. Good luck Sydney
  13. not sure who's kicking the winning score wouldn't have been surprised if they used Mitch Brown to give them some firepower. He did kick a relative bag in the last VFL game against Geelong Anyway fingers crossed the Pies game was an aberration
  14. Agree Hate to say it but a Geelong win would be good for us. A Bulldogs loss is intriguing however.
  15. Essington from Reddit.. Basically when we play really bad footy for a prolonged duration, we are referred to as Essington by our supporters. I believe it was an in joke that started on BomberBlitz during the Knights era.
  16. Nice to see Thursday night football back. That Friday night fixture is underwhelming to say the least. Port v Swans, our game and Eagles v Dogs are all way better
  17. It's increasingly looking like the best mix is one of both so you may both get your wish.
  18. It's been changed Here's the original fixture stating quite clearly it's an Essendon home game. The venue and time may not have been fixed but it has always been an Essendon home game https://www.aflq.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/AM-7554-0221-VFL-Fixture_Full_FA1-1.pdf
  19. good question It's listed as an Essendon home game. Perhaps the issue is security at Windy Hill. When I was there in 2019 it was just walk in as it's a community park. A nice place to watch football but a very strange portable scoreboard. Preuss took them apart as I remember. With the Saturday night game the emergencies will be available and I expect a few senior players will turn up to lend their support. Hopefully Saturday is a big win
  20. Not sure how our guys rate but last week with the Coca Cola incident they revealed that Ronaldo makes more off social media than he does from playing football. In the influencer world you need around 100k followers before you're at first base. Even then you are not a great earner. Of course this can change if you have a specialist following (highest paid youtube ads for example are for financial products). Then there's personal merchandising and cash donations such as Patreon. It's certainly a space to watch. If you were a star player for say the Crows or the Eagles it could be a goer. In Melbourne I would think it much tougher. Perhaps 4 or 5 star players from different clubs doing a Front Bar type show on youtube might sell.
  21. Assuming there's a Casey game you might be right. Playing Mitch Brown is the conservative play or even Bedford. On the other hand Brown has now "been building" for 11-12 weeks so you wonder whether another week makes much difference.
  22. not exactly T Mac, Wedemand and Ben Brown groupings Most if not all of those groupings include a Fritsch like player who we also have.
  23. The issue has always been that you can't have three highly paid forwards on your list. Long term I would prefer Weideman to stay but increasingly it seems he is the one to go. That he is out of contract at year's end makes it relatively easy. He may elect to take a one year deal with us or somewhere else in the hope that he can show his wares and demand the big mid career contract. Doubt that any club would offer him more than $400k per year on his present form. We're probably going to need some spare money to keep Jackson at the club at the end of 2022.
  24. Sorry Kev the earliest for no quarantine from Thailand is April and even that is optimistic. The zero crowd would metaphorically lynch any politician who got in front of the herd. International students in January under some hybrid Hotel quarantine scheme is the best we can hope for. Good luck in the land of smiles. I see the vaccines have just started to be rolled out. Slow I know but at least they have started. Interesting to see how long the Phuket sandbox lasts. (India jabbed 8.5M on Monday... their previous reord was 4.5M. If they can maintain 10M plus per day thorugh July and August that would be great.)
