  1. Just cannot undertand how Bombers v Crows rates a Friday night. Last roll of the dice perhaps for the Bombers but it's not that enthralling for the neutral supporter.
  2. heard that... they gave a year too.. was it 1979? I started racking my brain because I felt ashamed that I could not place him as a player
  3. It's the style of commentary. Not that many years ago Australian racing commentators were praised for their rapid fire commentary and ability to cover a field multiple times in a race by comparison to the slower style used in other countries. Similarly radio football commentators practised their crescendo style of call and tried to outdo each other on the comparative excitement stakes when describing a mark. Don't get me started on Rex Hunt. The trouble was these styles while great for radio were then taken to television but they forgot we can actually see what is happening and therefore don't need the bledding obvious explained to us. English soccer commentary is more to my style but the game admittedly at most times moves at a different pace. Frankly I'm not sure where the balance is but I know that the "excitement meter" needs to be dialled back a little. Of course in this day and age there is ampletechnological scope for an alternative commentary. As an aside when watching tennis I have the commentary off as they add so little. Would like to hear the "thwack" of the ball though.
  4. I see the ground is a mere stones throw from Aldi. Will they have special cheese platters available? Their 8 year old Scotch is not a bad drop actually. That Geelong road is not the most pleasant drive though these days. Not sure if I'll head along. Weather is looking fine but chilly.
  5. Time now for some serious thinking Top 4 looking strong for us Cats to win and Lions to lose would be a good outcome. A loss by both would be better. A lions win with a Cats loss might not be great in the longer term
  6. Whatever method is being used to practice shots from the pocket..... change it
  7. starting to feel optimistic...
  8. the first one or two would be nice... goals that is
  9. 19 scoring shots to 12... why o why
  10. 35 minutes in and we give up a goal !!
  11. Agree very much. While fully dosed will become important the more first jabs the better. 60% first dose coverage for 60-70 year olds is pathetic
  12. It's tough Singapore have been trying to wipe it out with some rather heavy restrictions for well over a month now. It's improving and they're now down from 30 plus cases a day to single digits and of course they're around 40% vaccinated.
  13. Great to hear. Have my second AZ jab booked for 3 weeks time. Just got notice from the clinic that my appontment had been moved forward by two hours to almost first thing. I suspect that they are getting nowhere near enough bookings to justify a half day or more so they're bunching them first up. Hope that it's not people cancelling their second dose. That would be really dumb.
  14. You would be "mad" to plan to play in Sydney for at least four weeks. Perhaps base them in Wangaratta and Mildura in the meantime. Would be a great boost for regional Victoria. More likely they'll head to Queensland.
  15. Backline emergency is my guess
  16. Could be something in this. Can't recall what time the Adelaide loss was played but our other two losses were during the gloom of the day. Perhaps we have a few vampires on our team.
  17. a drop from 1 to 5 within six days... Wonder if that's a record Only way we win this is if Port kick 6:15
  18. more concerned about the absence of Chandler and Bedford from this evening. They along with Lockhart are perhaps the interviewees for the seniors As to the key forwards.. remember we don't have much midfield at Casey so........
  19. not many understand what the modern VFL is all about It's a training session with simualted match conditions GWS are playing top up players and we are ... well I hope we know what we are doing. On a sunny day it's a lovely watch.. when it's 4 degrees dark and an hour minimum drive home I'll get back to a decent movie
  20. we did give him a five year contract only last year.
  21. Port doing well against Hawks mmmmmmmmmmm
  22. 5 places in one week could be a new record... ? A Hawthorn win would be great
  23. Couldn't find a reference on Casey radio but they may cover it https://www.caseyradio.com.au/
  24. In: Brown and possibly Melksham Out: Don't care we need to score and create forward pressure
  25. Accuracy is rarely our strong point
