  1. Hibberd definitely deserves another year. Short of Bowey there's no one really pushing to take his place at present Melksham is more problematic and I'll leave that one to the long term planners
  2. Magical times who can forget being in the dressing rooms pre and post those games. Northey was special in the way he embraced the everyday follower
  3. IF we win and Geelong lose we will go under $2 for the flag
  4. let's say we win on Friday and Melksham has a poor to middling game. T Mac plays VFL the following week and plays a decent but not spectacular game Who gets picked for the PF And just to make it more interesting Smith kicks three and has four goal assists in the VFL game
  5. 42 It was also the number Jackie Robinson wore. The only number in sport to be retired across a whole competition *
  6. And given our gameplan is boundary centric is it any wonder we lose.
  7. Kayo requires a steady internet connection of at most 10-13 mbs so most ISP's should be fine. Because it's live sport there is very little buffering compared to netflix etc. This means that if your connection is flaky although you may never know it during day to day use you can get problems with live sport. That being said 52mbs should be no problem. Is your TV/box connected by ethernet or wireless. Sometimes it can be a wireless issue in your home. I purchased a mesh router last year with a couple of satellites. Improved the home wireless connection enormously
  8. The excuse they gave for the replays a couple of years back is that is how they received the replay from the third party provider. The difference is frames per second. Live games are done at a higher fps rate. Looking forward let's hope that whoever gets the rights improves the picture quality dramatically. Not too much to expect 4k quality
  9. What a strange finals system. Who wins at these levels is irrelevant but I would like to see the losing teams playing for position simply to ensure that all players get equal time to display their skills
  10. Good example for MFC going forward If we can extend the playing careers of Petracca, Oliver, Salem Brayshaw etc we can build continuing success for the next ten years. At say 32 these guys will want good money but it won't be mega money thus allowing a strong cross section of talent. The Geelong lifestyle supports this approach as many have said. The challenge for the MFC is how you keep the players motivated. I wonder if we will see players having a year off or similar in the future around age 30
  11. Cold (7-14) but mostly dry and not too much wind predicted for Friday. Nothing like finals weather in Melbourne Hopefully we can have it a little warmer if we have a Melbourne prelim Wet and windy in Perth for the Dogs v Docker game. (Could be a close one)
  12. Sam has a very long way to go as a ruck not because he can or can't ruck but because he can't impose himself around the ground. He's ok in the handball and follow up area but he just doesn't show that ability to drop back in defence and take a mark or mark the long kick out etc
  13. This is the nub of the issue Standard training facilities are quickly becoming.. Two ovals, gym, pool and large undercover area With co-located admin, video review facilities, medical rooms etc. Just not seeing an MFC plan that will get us anywhere near these levels in the next 20 years
  14. Good to see some debate about where a VFL team fits in. Frankly I wonder myself what is its role
  15. So we could be playing Brisbane in the VFL prelim
  16. Didn't know that the cap for stand alone teams was so low. Goes a way to explain why they aren't the force in Victoria they once were. I assume Southport Sharks have less competition for local talent
  17. Bedford had a "nearly" spectacular game A bounce here, a few more inches there and we would be singing his praises. Aussie Rules can be a tough game Don't think our boundary line game favours his style. Needs more room to use his speed to run onto the ball
  18. South Port Sharks have an old style man mountain as their ruckman. Will be interesting to see Weideman up against him if the teams meet in the GF
  19. Needs to impose a little more around the ground Rucking alone is not enough in the AFL
  20. Great play by Chandler
  21. Strange team Casey 50 point win but once again no one really starring in a pushing for selection sense
  22. Oh Bedford !!
  23. Love Mitch Brown but.... I would like a mark or two from TMac or Smith
  24. JVR !!!!
  25. Clutch reply by Dunstan Mc Donald looking a little lost... perhaps the game is too crowded for his style
