Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Elliot has re-signed so it's certainly not a bidding war for Mihocek if it ever was

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Well we better hit the jackpot in 2026 because the 2027 draft will (with Tasmania entering) be a disaster for clubs such as MFC

THANK YOU FROM DEMONLAND
And a big thanks to Demonland for a great forum

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Tasmanian draft concessions just announced. When combined with Northern academy picks 2027 onwards will be a desert from a draft perspective for clubs such as the MFC. They have been given picks Nos.1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13, and the first selection of each subsequent round in their first draft, which is expected to be in 2027, ahead of their AFL debut in 2028. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/suns-will-seek-info-from-afl-as-they-explore-ugle-hagan-trade-20251001-p5mz7e.html Sure you can trade for some of these picks but it will cost. Expect the likes of Brisbane to become even stronger

Beware of forward loading. Just ask GCS about their experience with GA junior

2026 Rule Changes
I wouldn't back Max for less on ground time. Five on the bench... soon it will be six because when it was four we had to have a "medical back up". Anyone watching VFL knows the bounce had to go. I'm ready for abolition of posters as well.

Training Ground?
Be amazed if it was finished in two years. Four minimum is my guess

Grand Final HT Entertainment
Is there some kind of rule of thumb as to when a band ceases to be "that band" and becomes a cover band. Deep Purple are touring Asia. are there any original members left. Wikipedia says they're up to Version 9 but it was too long an entry for me to trace through. Elton John at the Singapore F1 this weekend. Why not but surely it's time he hung up his Dame Edna like glasses

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
We won't offload his salary and get decent picks. It's one or the other unless we take a hybrid deal. Frankly I think we're just better saying goodbye and unloading that long contract noose

2025 Player Reviews: #21 Matthew Jefferson Â
2025 was his year to show something and arguably he went backwards. Not confident of a turn around Is 2026 his last contract year? (Hope we don't get sucked in like we did with Weideman by a few decent games).

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
Based on form should be a regulation win. Still can't see MFC beating North but on any given Sunday..... Not sure that fixture has done us a favour but hell these wins feel good

Farewell Judd McVee
So.. what will happen if we play the Eagles card. The PSD is very late as I remember so it would leave Freo sweating. Would the Eagles or an intermediary give them the wink. Moreover if the Eagles don't take him would some team between the Eagles and Freo pick him up? (Even MFC) There's some water left to flow is my guess

A little strange we let him go so early given the way the McVee fiasco is developing

2025 Grand Final
Not really The under 21's are on comparatively low money. Neale and Cameron will retire plus they'll keep getting cheap top ups from their Academy.

2025 Player Reviews: #24 Trent Rivers
Yep Sums up the team and makes you wonder if next year will be any different. Ageing backline, non functioning forward line and one dimensional midfield.

2025 Grand Final
Always surprised that France has not pressured the Lions to change their theme song. It's not exactly respectful to an amazing history

2025 Grand Final

2025 Grand Final
Just checking my viewing channel for tomorrow (TNT Sports UK) Geelong Cats v Brisbane Lions (Bounce-up 5.30am). Coverage of the Grand Final at GMHBA Stadium Oh to follow a sport with such wonderful international reach ! It has a "Start time" of one hour before Bounce Up so I might be able to catch the Dogg and others

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast
Now that is what I call a foot to the metal win Looking forward to watching the replay later as I was out and about

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Seems that Elliot is exploring a move from Collingwood to GCS for more money and an extra year. Must be some real salary cap pressure at the magpies Collingwood have only a certain amount to spend under their salary cap, having outlaid more than $850,000 per season on long-term contracts for both Dan Houston and Harry Perryman last year. They have a squad replete with mature players, and relatively few youngsters on the minimum, compared with rivals. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/billy-over-brody-why-the-pies-have-to-make-elliott-their-priority-20250925-p5mxtq.html

2025 Player Reviews: #38 Oliver Sestan
Strange decision given the way the modern game is played. Sometimes you just have to trust Management. Our VFL development plan has not produced many contributors. I think we slavishly mimic the senior team and worry too much about winning than development. At least the years of boundary line play are receding.
