  1. Agreed. None of Adel, Syd nor GCS fit the Brand, Big Club, Big Crowds profile the media accused him of seeking last year. So maybe all the click bait hyperbole and trashing of Trac about those being his reasons to move were wrong.
  2. Who uses calendars!
  3. The irony is no-one ever comments on 'brand' Dangerfield (fishing) or 'brand' Smith (himself) and many other players. It is another #TracMyth that has gone out of control.
  4. I appreciate the comparative point you are making and I'm not sure a direct comparison is valid. But that aside, there is a tendency in this thread for posters be selective about info they quote to support their narrative eg someone wrote Trac is over 30 or in his 30's. He is 29 until January to suppor their position he is past it The age per se is no biggy but it has become entrenched as another #TracMyth. My position is that I prefer him to stay but if he goes so be it. Nonetheless, I am a bit pedantic so will try to provide more accurate info when it is available.
  5. Probably because Dangerfield has played an extra 147 games. Their average per game is about the same. It would be handy to quote statistics in context.
  6. Very disappointing how much of the media is treating Howell's win. They are focusing on the games when he 'shouldn't' have received votes based on coaches votes. Yet talking up Naicos's close loss - he lost by 7 votes; that isn't close!! Accept the umpires's verdict. After all they are different umpires each game. Just let the kid enjoy the limelight. I bet if the results were the other way round the euphoria for Naicos would be ๐Ÿคฎ
  7. I go there several times a year to meet demon fans as it is near a station all can get to. It is essentially a sports bar/pub with pokies, has reasonable food, reasonable prices and very convenient for track watchers and players/staff after training.
  8. A mighty effort FnT. thank you. Might just add The Glasshouse is on the edge of the precinct, a few hundred mtrs from the station.
  9. I would've thought 'common sense' and 'biases' are mutually exclusive... I've not seen anything that says Trac wants to explore options or wants out. That aside, I agree with you that Christian has his flaws but still a match winner. tbh I've resigned myself to Trac, if he goes, helping someone else win a premiership before we do. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ˜ญ
  10. I don't know. But if they were 100% on keeping Trac why wouldn't they shut it down and repeat last year's position: He is contracted, he is staying. Full stop. I'm not saying the club does want him gone or that Trac wants to go. My comment was about posters blaming Trac for the silence then connecting dots which simply aren't there to fit their own narrative or biases.
  11. MFC haven't shut it down. Does that mean mfc wants him gone and he is working with them to this end? It has been reported that he is ok to stay. So the silence cuts both ways. But most posters want to blame Trac for the silence on media speculation. Imagine if players or clubs responded to every trade media speculation. There is an 'echo chamber' of biased comments and little rationale in this thread.
  12. And McCrae pampers to the media as he does to pies fans. At the end of his press conf yesterday he thanked all the media there and those that attended during the year for their reporting of Coll (paraphrasing). And producers are wary of non-positive pies news for fear of the avalanche of criticism on the air ways and social media. It is ๐Ÿคฎinducing !!!
  13. Fair enough. Maybe I should amend that to the last 4 years is what a dynasty looks like. Would love it to have been us with their record.
  14. Lions record for the last 7 years 2025 GF 2024 Premiers 2023 GF 2022 SF 2021 SF 2020 PF 2019 SF Haven't been out of finals since 2019. They won at least one final each year. Always in contention. That is what a Dynasty looks like!
  15. I did some further checking and what I wrote may not be correct. The only thing I could find is this from AI: "A sacked AFL coach's remaining contract is often subject to a "duty to mitigate", meaning the coach must actively seek similar employment, and any new income from that job will offset the amount the former club owes them. ... The "Duty to Mitigate" Definition: The sacked coach has an obligation to find another job in the same field (e.g., another coaching position). Impact on Payout: Any salary earned from a new job is used to reduce the amount of money the club is required to pay the coach for the remainder of their contract." I've not found any AFL related correspondence on this so I'm not sure it is all that cut and dried. The word 'often' doesn't indicate 'mandatory' so it depends on the agreement mfc struck with Goodwin. . If the agreement was to offset mfc payout there is a commensurate benefit to our soft cap.
  16. The Sydney position/salary doesn't help us. But hopefully mfc applied to the AFL for approval to spread the payout over two years. The AFL approved it for Clarkson's payout so I'd be surprised if they didn't for us.
  17. That isn't how payouts on termination work. He was entitled to the payout regardless of what happened next.
  18. I've waited a long time. Thank youโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
  19. Hope Barrett reads that. Last week he insultingly said Charlie's transfer didn't warrant any compensation pick.
  20. Just to clarify that. Tom sent his tweet on Monday at 12.05pm which was before or during King's meeting with list management. I'd be shocked if King formed a view before meeeting with Trac. In fact I'd be worried if King formed a view before meeting him. If Trac is hearing via the media that the club is happy to let him go it would be discouraging. Lets wait till King and Trac meet.
  21. Are you saying 4 mfc coaches/voters regularly gave him votes he didn't deserve? Big call. Amazing that fans know more than those that work with players every day. I wonder how long before people say he didn't deserve the NSM.
  22. Another scribe looking for click bait. I can't imagine anyone or any player at the club feeding this tripe to Ralph. A guy who comes 2nd in the BnF isn't just 'going thru the motions' !!!
  23. I reckon Morris is trying to stir up a story. Why would Petracca (or Oliver) want to leave! The protagonists (Roffey, Pert, Goodwin) are gone. New GM FD Strategy that is above Richardson being recruited. So fresh ideas and fresh voices. Listen to this do the rounds of the 'echo chamber' media. And a fresh round of animosity toward Trac will start up among fans. Morris should go away and dig muck up elsewhere!
  24. From the Guerra SEN interview: โ€œWe loved his articulation of the game plan, particularly the contemporary side of it. We love how heโ€™s using technology to inform that as well. I would say Nathan would have been a long way behind on the use of technology. 4-5 years out of the game is an eternity in use of technology, in any field. Especially as Nathan had said on OTC that game plan wasn't that important.
