My recollection is that the booing started in May 13 at the Indigenous Round v Collingwood (the 13 yo & Ape incident) & continued throughout AG's career. The situation in Tasmania was that the Palawa fought back against the whites taking their lands & war effectively broke out between them & Tasmanian settlers. Michael Long & Nicki Winmarin both made a stand & were not booed In fact Eddie Betts & Mick O'Louglin would be 2 of the most well liked players of their era.

I've also worked on a number of Indigenous Communities in the NT and am proud to count maybe 20 to 30 Aboriginal people as good friends or at least solid acquaintences so I know very well how racism works.

No I didn't boo Goodes though I didn't like him as a player, but I booed Chris Lewis & Tony Shaw and Linsdsay Thomas & Steve Silvagni and Robbie Muir and Barry Hall so I'm not sure what that makes me. This is the nub of the Goodes issue. My view is that (unfortunately) Goodes was booed because of the way the young girl was treated by AFL security at the game & by the AFL's clumsy efforts after the incident. Others insist Goodes was booed because of his comments on Indigenous matters but how are you going to prove one way or another short of interviewing all the people booing at the game.
