Kate & the Board have been virtually invisible this year. Very disappointing.
  2. Jackson seems to play 2-3 outstanding games each year & can be spectacular but lacks consistency.
  3. The first post didn't age well 😁
  4. Newsflash - a forward is expected to actually kick a goal or 2. A bit like being a great defender but always getting goals kicked on you.
  5. I was there with 4 mates & we all believe that the Brayshaw incident probably cost us the game & the Flag. We'll never know for sure but plenty of people agree.
  6. I recall Goodwin admitting in an interview some years ago being "an [censored]" for wasting Fritsch up the ground for a season & not realising (like most of us had) that Fritsch was a natural forward. Goodie just seems obsessed with the idea that Petty is the next Neitz whereas many commentators, most footy followers & every Dees supporter I know has been calling for Petty to go to defence. The move clearly hasn't worked & in fact has backfired badly & this seems obvious to everyone but our BT.
  7. Pretty sure Engorged Onion can run his own arguments without the support of your highly witty retorts.
  8. Can't help myself. Have to call out people making assertions without the required evidence who proliferate on Demonland.
  9. Uninformed statements is what Demonland is mostly about & you are a prime example.
  10. Good article & agree with most of it. Minor point It's Nakia Cockatoo not Cockatoo Collins & he had talent but was cruelled by injury. The recent trading has been disastrous. Compare our last year with Hawthorn who traded in Meek, Chol, Ginnivan & Amon & who are all playing good football.
  11. I've watched a few VFL games & he has shown SFA

Brayshaw was being a pest & illegally holding onto Gaff & stopping him going past. Not an excuse of course but I can understand Gaff's frustrations. If Brayshaw had done that to Ray Biffin or Ditterich things would have been really ugly.
  13. Tholstrup was very poor v Fremantle & should have gone back to Casey. Last game he seemed to ball watch a bit too much instead of diving in for the it. Just a young player learning the ropes but I thought he should have shown a bit more aggression & desperation for the ball & for opposition players.
  14. Very well researched & well thought out. I've seen some very good signs from Tholstrup & also a few concerns. I sincerely hope he turns pit to be elite.
  15. Pretty nasty comment on Frost. He has been pretty consistent at Hawthorn & on this year's form as a good as anyone we have down back apart from May & McVee.
  16. Love your work & passion WCW but think you lack objectivity. Coaching is not a popularity contest & sometimes requires ruthlessness. Some of the selection decisions in recent years seem based on favouritism not form. I don’t care if the coach is loved or not. He will be judged on his record with the talent he had on the list.
  17. 2017 Failed badly 2018 Coached well 2019 Failed badly 2020 Failed badly 2021 Coached very well 2022 Coached very poorly 2023 Coached well - unlucky 2024 Started well then the wheels fell off Considering over the journey he inherited the best defence, midfield & ruck in the competition this is a pretty sketchy record.
  18. Goodwin is a terrible tactical coach. It was a repeat of the a Freo game where we were monstered by opposition big men. Why on earth wouldn’t you have Fullarton and/or Tomlinson in to counter Lobb, Darcy, English. And letting Bont run rampant most of the night - Oliver or Rivers were the obvious match ups. At least we finally saw Petty & McDonald in their right positions but this was forced on him due to May's injury.
  19. Goodwin showed a lack of imagination with Jordon by pigeonholing his role. Longmire saw him in the first scratch match & saw potential as a tagger (ditto Bedford) Trying to rest Grundy & Gawn forward was absurd & doomed to fail as neither has ever been much chop as a forward. Our forward line was mostly dysfunctional with and without them. This was obvious from the start so the plan should have always been to rotate them from the bench. Blind freddy could see this. If they'd done that we might have won the flag & Grundy would still be with us.
  20. Oh dear personal attack instead of arguing your case about the trades. Says it all really.
  21. I don't deal in hypotheticals just facts. You & Ollie should get a room. You're obviously happy with the 5 dud trades (or is it 7).
  22. It's about dealing with the facts not a hypothetical flight of fancy. Fact - we traded in 5 players who are offering nothing and it's had an impact (never mind Grundy & Jordon)
  23. Maybe you should set up a committee to hunt down traitorous supporters ANYHOW the issue is 5 dud trades have cost us big time this year. And that's not counting Goodwin totally stuffing up with Grundy & James Jordon so arguably 7 disastrous trades.
  24. The carping balances out the starry eyed fan boys & girls who see any criticism of the Club or its coaches as disloyalty. The trades go hand in hand with the drafting & so far the last 2 years have been disasters & are part of the reason that we have blown 2024.
  25. I'd thought you might want to comment on the matter of 5 traded players who are delivering SFA to the team. Maybe compare that to some of Hawthorn's traded players - Amon, Meek, Chol, Ginnivan. I look forward to your objective assessment.
