  1. Goodwin showed a lack of imagination with Jordon by pigeonholing his role. Longmire saw him in the first scratch match & saw potential as a tagger (ditto Bedford) Trying to rest Grundy & Gawn forward was absurd & doomed to fail as neither has ever been much chop as a forward. Our forward line was mostly dysfunctional with and without them. This was obvious from the start so the plan should have always been to rotate them from the bench. Blind freddy could see this. If they'd done that we might have won the flag & Grundy would still be with us.
  2. Oh dear personal attack instead of arguing your case about the trades. Says it all really.
  3. I don't deal in hypotheticals just facts. You & Ollie should get a room. You're obviously happy with the 5 dud trades (or is it 7).
  4. It's about dealing with the facts not a hypothetical flight of fancy. Fact - we traded in 5 players who are offering nothing and it's had an impact (never mind Grundy & Jordon)
  5. Maybe you should set up a committee to hunt down traitorous supporters ANYHOW the issue is 5 dud trades have cost us big time this year. And that's not counting Goodwin totally stuffing up with Grundy & James Jordon so arguably 7 disastrous trades.
  6. The carping balances out the starry eyed fan boys & girls who see any criticism of the Club or its coaches as disloyalty. The trades go hand in hand with the drafting & so far the last 2 years have been disasters & are part of the reason that we have blown 2024.
  7. I'd thought you might want to comment on the matter of 5 traded players who are delivering SFA to the team. Maybe compare that to some of Hawthorn's traded players - Amon, Meek, Chol, Ginnivan. I look forward to your objective assessment.
  8. Recent trades are looking a bit sick. Hunter, Schache, Billings, McAdam & Fullerton haven’t fired a shot this year. Hawthorn have added Meek, Amon, Chol & Ginnivan who are all contributing. If 2 or 3 of the trades were in the side & playing well it might have been a different story for us.
  9. Were all wondering that. Its an obvious move. Goodie seems obsessed with Petty up forward & blind to the fact it hasn't worked out. Petty has been serviceable at best.
  10. Exactly Hogan is the best key forward going round - May was the obvious match. May was moved after the damage was done. A repeat of the West Coast game when Waterman killed us.
  11. Frost is getting a game in a team playing much better than us at the moment. He'd be well ahead of Lever this year.
  12. Oh dear - Happy hour is it ? I only bag the players & coaches when they deserve it. Maybe if our supporters demanded ex more instead of cheering mediocrity we might have had the success that other clubs have had.
  13. I'm retired but I can imagine us working together at the Human Rights Commission or the ABC where we could be Care Bears together & sort out the evil doers.
  14. Imagine what the Collingwood players cop when they lose.
  15. Has anyone else noticed that we have lost almost all the real speedsters off our list in recent years ? This has happened when genuine leg speed is a very valuable commodity. Jeff Garlett was probably cooked so no great loss. Sam Frost would probably get a game with us today. Oskar Baker - probably Casey material. Toby Bedford- would be very, very useful. Jayden Hunt would also be very handy as a line breaker. Maybe the BT doesn't value speed.
  16. It's called resilience. You can either learn to cope with the difficulties life throws at you or maybe complain about whoever is being mean to you & how unfair the world is. I know what I've found to be more useful.
  17. I'm not suggesting it is right I am simply being practical & realistic. On line comments are a fact of life & are not going away so you either learn to deal with it or let it destroy you.
  18. Welcome to the world of elite sports. These kids are making what - $200,000 a year+ Footy forums are full of frustrated supporters some of whom vent and/or overstep the mark on criticism at times. It can be tough on players but that’s just how it is so they need to learn to deal with it or find something else to do.
  19. Hardly surprising. No player likes to read that they are playing poorly.
  20. You are a dill RJ. SWYL is not the recruiting department. Goodie & his assistants are paid good $ to make sure we have a balanced list. To go into 2024 with only one 32 y old ruckman who is up to standard is a woeful performance. Shame on them.
  21. Petty is playing without confidence & has been no better than Tomlinson this year.
  22. You must be kidding. Petty mostly fell over & fumbled. He seems totally bereft of confidence & form & has barely contributed this year.
  23. Doubt he is going anywhere next year but he would want to improve his form drastically in 2025. Clayton is getting $1m a year + and delivering a $500,000 a year performance on the field so far.
  24. Anyone among the acolytes disagree that he's has the best defence, best midfield & best ruck going round between 2018 & 2023.
  25. Allan Jeans had a theory that Tasmanians generally played better in the wet than other players because they grew up playing in wet conditions more than mainlanders. L
