Glad to hear Frawley is looking fitter. I think he will have a top year in 2013. -
What we as supporters can do if the MFC is punished?!

Exactly right. I have renewed mine, my husbands (The Collingwood supporter but a Melbourne member as well) and my dogs membership already. We are ready for 2013.- 50 replies

I am more interested in the first question... how is Clint's rehab coming along? He certainly looks fit and ready to fire. I really hope to see him back on the G next season. By the way - you guys all look great - in much better condition than that Collingwood bloke. Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Woey for me. To rub salt into my wound, my husband has a signed Collingwood jumper from Woey that I have to look at everytime I go into the garage. Its still hurts even after all this time.....

I quite liked his form in round 13 when he thumped Fasolo.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRIS DAWES
jane02 replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember Chris Dawes (Toppy as he was known) as an under 12 at the Hampton Rovers. I used to hand out the cut up oranges at half time. He was a solid boy then. -
Easter Sunday - mmm... Will definitely go to church that morning and say a few prayers on the side for the Dees. Gobble down a quick lunch and head off to the G. Easy.

I agree we should have won that game. From memory, that was a cold, wet Friday night and it was the match that supported breast cancer research. I was there, wore my pink poncho, got soaked, couldn't see much due to the heavy rain and to top it all we lost a gamethat we should have won. There were some very poor umpiring decisions that night......

LA had always been my hero and I feel shattered about what has happened. He has betrayed people like me and many others who admired his courage and apparent honesty. I feel like burning all of his books. Watching him sit there and openly lie whilst under oath made me feel sick. I hope his guilt and deceit does not tarnish all those innocent, honest competitive cyclists out there.

I am sorry to lose JR but wish him all the best.

Both of my parents were Melbourne supporters. My great uncle Charlie Barnes, played 33 games for the Dees between 1927 -1929 so my grandparents and aunts and uncles were all supporters. Some of my earliest childhood memories were going to watch the Dees on a Saturday and Oakleigh on a Sunday in the VFA. As the years have passed, nearly all of my older relatives have passed away so apart from my elderly mother, I am the only Dee supporter left in my family )-: -
No I am just basking in it all at the moment and saying very little!
-
I have a soft spot for big backman - If I was a male and played footy, thats where I would want to play. In no particular order I loved watching Nathan Carrol, Rod Grinter, Sean Wight and Matty Whelan. I also enjoyed watching James Frawley in 2011 - last year was not his greatest year but he is still young.
-
I am getting lots of positive feedback from family who support Collingwood, Hawthorn and Carlton. They are all muttering "well done" and admiring how progressive the Dees have been during the trade period - almost in an envious way! . My husband who is a Collingwood supporter has always been a big Dawes fan and didn't want him to go. I am not getting ahead of myself but I am very excited about the future.

I have had such a top week. I cannot remember being so interested in draft week ever. I have always been an optimistic supporter but this week has given me more hope than usual. Let the good times roll......

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
jane02 replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Instead of doing paperwork this morning, I sat glued to my computer waiting for 10am. I was so excited when I read the news - I couldn't be anything but happy all day. Unfortunately I was home alone and didn't have anyone to share the excitement with but I did stop and dream for a few moments about the good times ahead. I was a huge Todd Viney fan and cannot wait to see Jack play in the red and blue next year. -
I couldn't agree more. He is a lovely guy and and I will be gutted if he goes. Please stay Jared.... please.

I am so glad for your posts. We are seeing the show on Saturday night and I had not heard any reviews at all. It sounds great. I love Robbo as well - I am so glad he is making a go of his post footy dream.
