I am getting lots of positive feedback from family who support Collingwood, Hawthorn and Carlton. They are all muttering "well done" and admiring how progressive the Dees have been during the trade period - almost in an envious way! . My husband who is a Collingwood supporter has always been a big Dawes fan and didn't want him to go. I am not getting ahead of myself but I am very excited about the future.

I have had such a top week. I cannot remember being so interested in draft week ever. I have always been an optimistic supporter but this week has given me more hope than usual. Let the good times roll......

Instead of doing paperwork this morning, I sat glued to my computer waiting for 10am. I was so excited when I read the news - I couldn't be anything but happy all day. Unfortunately I was home alone and didn't have anyone to share the excitement with but I did stop and dream for a few moments about the good times ahead. I was a huge Todd Viney fan and cannot wait to see Jack play in the red and blue next year.

I couldn't agree more. He is a lovely guy and and I will be gutted if he goes. Please stay Jared.... please.

I am so glad for your posts. We are seeing the show on Saturday night and I had not heard any reviews at all. It sounds great. I love Robbo as well - I am so glad he is making a go of his post footy dream.

I am also a big Clint fan. He goes in very hard and gives it 100%. I have also enjoyed many of his tackles over the season. I was so disappointed for him when I heard about his injury. I sincerely hope this radical treatment works and he is back in the red and blue.

Well done Jeremy - you deserved it. Russell Robertson was one of my favorites because of his great flying marks but I think you are now my new fav.

I would also like to add my thanks to everyone involved in running this site. As a lone Melbourne supporter in my family and having no friends who follow the Dees, I now feel a part of the Demonland family and know I am not alone in my love for this great club. I have just returned from four weeks overseas and thanks to Demonland, I had my finger on the pulse of what was happening at home. Looking forward to a great 2013. Go Dees!

Oh - I have failed miserably as a mother. Both my son and daughter were in baby demon jumpers at about two weeks of age. I signed them both up BUT my son got brainwashed when Wayne Carey visited his school and he promptly came home and told me he was going to support North. My husband bribed my daughter with hot donuts, merchandise and promises of great things if she became a magpie supporter. It was a very sad day in my life when that happened. Both my kids tell me that Melbourne is there second favorite team but thats all. I tried everything possible so I am about to start working on some nieces who are expecting this year. Neither are interested in football so I may stand a chance.

I was only a twinkle in my dad's eye in 1964. I have read so much about that era and heard so much from Dad about what it was like to be a Demon supporter at that time. I long for that experience......

I am on holidays and fully absorbed in Jim's book. I fully agree with you. I have been a Demon supporter all my life - will never waiver my love for the red and blue and always optimistic that next season will be the one. I havent seen a flag in my lifetime but I have faith it is not too far away. Go Dees.

I am overseas at the moment and read online in the Herald Sun that Geelong are after Jared Rivers. Has anyone heard anything else or is it just speculation? Thanks for keeping me informed - these boards are great when you are away from Melbourne. There is so much happening so I rely on Demonland for all the updates.

Thats so sad. Poor little fella.

I have just got home from work to this sad news. Disappointed but not really surprised. However if Jared Rivers goes to Geelong, I would be shattered. I remember seeing him being interviewed on Dee TV (I think) and he spoke of visiting his girlfrinds parents place "up the coast". Maybe Geelong is more appealing - I hope I am wrong.

Oh well - about to watch my last quarter of footy for 2012. I really don't care about the other clubs so I don't care what happens to them from here. I just hope the people who have the power, do the right thing when it comes to recruitment time. I have never seen the Dees win a premiership in my life time. My husband, both my kids, my parents and my closest friends have all experienced what I have been denied. But I am an optimist and will be back there supporting my beloved Dees in 2013. I never tip against them, think each week we are in with a chance and hope that 2013 will be our year.

I agree - I have thought for awhile that NN is very over rated. The commentators drive me crazy with their stupid talk. To compare his so called " brilliance" with Franklin even insults me and I hate Hawthorn. He may eventually become a great player but Im happy with Jack.

OMG - that flying leap when he lands on his head still makes me cringe. Love Mitch - he's a top bloke. Love having him at the Dees.
