http://m.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-24/lions-consider-challenge-to-zorko-ban They simply HAVE to challenge this. Not only because it's fundamentally wrong in light of recent suspensions...But because it involves the bias Doctors at Carlton again! When will the AFL allow itself the power to challenge that doesn't impact the club? Surely if the MRP is being grossly inconsistent then it shouldn't potentially damage a club, but it certainly damages the long term credibility of the competition. That's in the AFL interests.

I was at home in Perth. WHERE WERE ALL OF YOU AT SUBIACO 3 WEEKS AGO WHEN TOMMY MAC KICKED THE GOAL OF THE SEASON AND I ALMOST GOT KILLED BY 30,000 ANGRY, SUNBURNT BOGANS? I SWEAR SOMEONE TRIED TO THROW A JETSKI AT ME! Pathetic.

I think the million dollar question is why do players keep trying to hit Alex Rance?

This Brisbane Carlton game is bizarre.

Eagles are going down!

I'm proposing an angry ginger haired mascot who runs around the boundary hurling f bombs and death threats at overweight, sad looking opposition supporters.

Post Match Discussion - Round 18
The heart beats true replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That last quarter was brave. The boys refused to get beaten. They make you proud to be a Melbourne supporter this lot. -
We have enough anecdotal evidence to understand how we'd fare at the MRP (and the media narrative about us being undisciplined). It doesn't really matter how just we think it is. It now is, and Bernie knew what to expect. This is on him.
-
Freo have dominated the Eagles but can't kick a goal to save them. West Coast look pretty average to me.
-
We don't know the circumstances. He may have been sitting waiting for an ambulance. I never trust the way things are presented on TV. You can cut to anything and make up a narrative. Cameron Ling is making a career of it.

Is that right? Is it somewhere in our annual report? I'm not asking to be a dick. I actually find that fascinating and would love to see the numbers. Be interesting to see if we make the same profit next year as projected this year if the club would make the NT deal again. Be fascinated to know what they make of it in house. Its pretty clear the supporters hate it. Last nights felt like an Adelaide home game in Darwin.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The heart beats true replied to stevethemanjordan's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lever is a good player no doubt, but he's allowed to read the play and react because of Talia. Im not sure we have a Talia type. I think we have a lot of 'developing' Lever types. Id love to have him, but I'd love a gun outside midfield runner more. GWS have a few, but one of them wouldn't exactly be welcomed back with opened arms. I actually think our defence is looking ok. Our team defence and structure is often the issue. -
We looked tired and very undisciplined with the ball. Really played with very little structure or plan, and their transition from d50 absolutely slaughtered us. I didn't think we really solved this from a coaching perspective all night - which is very unlike us this year. I'd say players didn't execute more then coaches didn't address it as it was very obvious. We miss our 2 best clearance players (Jones and Viney) and our 2 best ball users that can pick through a zone (Salem and Watts). Positives - ANB is going to make it. He's a smart footballer and is a team player. JKH had some moments. Oscar is growing in confidence and reminds me of his brother 4 years ago. He's on the right path. Hunty looks back to his dashing self. Jesse, honestly looks depressed. I feel for the guy immensely. He kept working at it though and I do think that when it comes together for him it's going to help him a lot. The poor guy needs to have some fun on the field and see that life can be great for him. I don't think I've ever wanted to see a player smile as much as I do for Jess right now. Wasnt our night and we looked flat. Need some fresh players back. Kent and Bernie (will get 2 weeks again) will go for Watts and Tys.

Critiquing the content not the person
The heart beats true replied to Engorged Onion's topic in Melbourne Demons
The only thing that frustrates me is when people say things that can't be disproved and offer nothing to the narrative. Statements like 'I know something but can't say', or after something is in the public domain stating 'I knew this in advance'. I don't really get the point of those posts but I suspect those of you who make those posts already knew I was going to say that - because you have magic powers that you can't talk about. -
Geelong annoy the living [censored] out of me. Bog standard team relying on one bloke - and he's that good he gets it done.

Etihad form is like the Christian Brothers who taught me to swim. Not to be trusted.

AFL Scandal: 2 senior executives resign

It's pretty hard. My mates a divorce attorney and I told him he should name his boat 'It Was Only The One Time'. -

I feel like both of these posts are personally aimed at me, and my mum agrees. I expect a full written apology from yourselves, and Josh Mahoney. -
At least the jumper punch is back. Can't wait to watch North Melbourne dish out 4-5 on the weekend, only for Scott to remind everyone in his Presser that the AFL allow it. HOW [censored] DUMB ARE THE AFL? If you're going to get rid of something, get rid of it!

AFLPA what are you doing to earn your money today? A player got touched by a fan and reacted angrily, and you are saying what? What a joke of an organisation.

100% agree. The logical conclusion here is for the AFL to investigate and then warn the fan, and all fans, not to touch players. End of story.
-
The AFLPA need to get involved here and earn their money. Support the player. That's the sole reason they exist. I don't go to the footy to hear a meathead abuse the actual reason I DO go to the games.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 16
The heart beats true replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just watched the replay again. Jetta had 4-5 incredible efforts in the last quarter. Frosty was almost as good. Umpire 22 gave 2 of the softest frees of I've ever seen to keep Carlton in the game. ANB was very strong in the last quarter. But the absolute highlight was BT waffling on as ANB lined up saying 'don't work about the clock, just kicked the goal'. ANB passes the ball off BECAUSE of the clock and seals the win. Classic example of out of touch channel 7 rubbish. -
Eagles are soooooooooft

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 16
The heart beats true replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the Oliver incident is simple. Nicky Winmar proved that players have a right to play without being abused. A ticket to the footy is not a free excuse to abuse people. Especially when the supporter obviously said something that offended Clarry, but then didn't like it when he gave him something back. We all go to the game to see the players at their best, not to listen to Jo Public abuse. The AFL needs to continue to focus on that - especially in a season where we've had multiple players take time out for their mental health.
