  1. I reckon the revenue is actually in the visual advertising inside the app itself, where you rebroadcast any content you want. As for the 'next' broadcast deal by then there'll be multiple work arounds for the crap we are served up. Technology is driven by demand that is more conscious then the dumb supply chain we currently have.
  2. Business opportunity for anyone who is smart and tech savvy. Make a digital radio app whose signal you can delay to sync with your TV. Youve just given radio stations massive increases in revenue. Do it.
  3. The commentary is ruining what promises to be a gleeful evening of at least one team I hate being beaten. Ling explains what you just saw with your own eyes with absolutely no insight. It's only 'special' comments because he sounds special when he talks.
  4. Somebody needs to tell Hamish that Hawthorn are crap, that most of their players are shadows of what they were, and that the non-Hawthorn supporting AFL general public hold very little goodwill towards a side that won 3 premierships in a row by exploiting Free Agency. We get it. You support them. The rest of us [censored] hate them, so shut your gob.
  5. Stretch and Gawn in. I actually knew that yesterday, but out of respect for the club I chose not to say anything.
  6. So wait, do you know a girl or not? My cousin said you did.
  7. @akoo welcome to the Red and Blue army. You'll be tasked with taking your new found passion and love for the Demons home and spreading it across your home country. No pressure Go Dees!
  8. Selwoods act is a disgrace. Almost anyone else would have got 2 down to 1. Why can't we adopt a rule that says ANY club not involved directly in a decision may challenge an MRP ruling with all involved parties going to the tribunal? The MRP would automatically look at things from the perspective of the game, because having to publicly defend the Selwood or Rance decision would embarrass everyone. This weeks rulings are nuts, and a multi billion dolllar industry deserves better.
  9. How great is the naming/timing of the James Hird Academy? It's such a perfect metaphor. "Had a huge weekend. Spent the whole time at the James Hird Academy"
  10. I really hate the way Goddard screams at his teammates. It's totally unnecessary, reeks of self preservation, and displays why he'll never be a leader. If I played alongside him i'd tell him to pull his neck in (and he'd probably yell back at me 'What the [censored] are you doing out here! You're an overweight 39 year old with no left foot who only runs one way').
  11. I was very disappointed in our leaders in the first half - simply in terms of composure with ball in hand. But Jones and Lewis were exceptional after half time. They fully deserve the kudos and really stood up when needed. I also just want to acknowledge that Jeffy Garlett is quickly become a leader for our club. He kicks goals he should kick, he chases and does all the hard things. He's been fantastic this year and I'm wrapped for him.
  12. Goodwin needs to tell Lewis he has a half of footy to prove to Melbourne Supporters that Clarko was wrong about him.
  13. I have a sleeve tat and it's not compensating for anything - it's just trying to distract from the horror that is my face.
  14. How bad is a system when a player gets the same penalty for accidentally making contact with an umpire as a bloke who deliberately punches a player in the throat or stomach? That's like fining a jaywalker the same as someone who deliberately hits a pedestrian with their car. Great system. Nailed it.
  15. Scott set the MRP up for this in his post game by saying they had validated punching. Just when you think you can't like a bloke any less. And for the record Cunnington's wasn't a jumper punch. He just punched him. I hope it gets ugly over the next few weeks and they are forced to fix it. It's a bad look.
  16. Demonland the day after a win: The premiership is ours! Demonland the day after a loss: Trade everyone! (Closely followed by 14 pages of arguing with each other about the order in which to trade - and who is the 'softest' of our players)
  17. If May leaves GCS they are going to want either a ridiculous draft hand (which I doubt given their inability to maintain players) or more likely an experienced player in the 23-25 age bracket. I don't see how we get it done without losing something of value. People talking about Watts will then very quickly complain about our lack of tall forwards.
  18. You're technically right on the 195+ KPF, but it's a pretty selective bracket. By 2 cm's your missing Pederson, Tim Smith and Hulett from this years list. Waite or Cam McCarthy isn't in that category either. Frustration with the development of JKH is one thing, but I think we've actually done a really solid job since 2013 with our recruitment. I'll trust Roos' selections. He wasn't alone in not getting Brown.
  19. He's got solid runs on the board over the passed 18 months - and he's missing structure around him that means he's also playing a different role. Ill give him a break and trust him to work back into form. He's proven his worth.
  20. We got Hibberd 100% right and he's been outstanding. Melksham and Lewis I'm really on the fence about. We need them both to step up over the next 2 months when mature bodies really come to the fore and the kids get tired.
  21. Ok, so maybe I missed the point? That we need a lead up full forward? We have one of those and I'd take him over Brown everyday. Prior to the draft Brown was seen as a ruckman and we had Gawn and Spencer in that bucket too. Or was his point that literally every other club let Brown go too because there was concerns over how much work was required to get him to AFL standard as a mature age big man? Hindsight is 20/20, but you have to be a genius passed pick 40 in any draft.
  22. And they took Trent Dumont 27 spots ahead of Jayden Hunt that same day. If you want to look for negatives focus on the 4 quarters. There was enough to be [censored] off about without going back to a draft 4 years ago and arguing about who was taken with pick 47.
  23. I'd argue that we leave too much up to players with less than 30 games experience. Lewis may be a general around the structures but he's just not doing enough with ball in hand for me. Jones turns the ball over too often when under no pressure. Weid isn't ready. He cost us 2-3 goals early by their confidence to mark in defence. I've defended Kent but he was terrible and I think Harmes deserves a crack in his spot. Hannah showed he's capable. We sit exactly where we deserve to, and I think Goodwin has a task ahead of him to figure out why he can't: A) Prepare a team to play B) Get anything from his leaders on the ground when the chips are down.
  24. I've watched a fair bit of footy this year and I reckon we are about a 10-12 team. We simply can't win games when we are expected to, and until that changes we won't play finals.
  25. I think everyone is going WAY too early on McCartin. Given the difficulty of playing forward of the ball in the modern game, and the ability of defenders at AFL standard, it's not like key forwards can just walk into the game and have an awe inspiring impact straight away....
