  1. Weid I see the future, he's still only 24. Back to Casey to continue his development. His best returns have been as a deep forward converting the upfield work of Brown and Mac in some cases. He can rove around and has been competitive in ruck. He is similar to LJ in stature, mobility and flexibility, but should be developed to replace BB orTMac TMac and Brown is the now. Both roving to the wing to create competition and entry points into the deeper forward position . if one is out the other should be back. They should not be competing together, one takes an opponent out of the contest. Kossie Fritta etc feed off their contests . If BB or TMac is injured or drops form for 3 games Weid straight in otherwise he stays at Casey. He can return for finals to give chop out or different structure if required. Weid gets told he is the future of a premiership winning decade and if he chooses to go to another club he will be replaced to ensure that success is continued. He will move to a club that will not beat a now substantial club. Just as Petty has been promoted from the future, Tomlinson will replace him when fit. May will be replaced Petty, Hore and Casey players will eventually replace him. Casey is the development base for the future to complement the stars recruited and drafted. This adds to the brilliant base we have assembled. There are many routes to success we finally seem to have a greater ability to exploit them.

I would prefer the health experts talking of a health response beyond a lockdown. This has become the go to knee jerk response since the economic response was so successfully introduced because our health system was to be "overwhelmed". This was based on overseas models and our limited availability of respirators. Once our capacity of respirators was improved and our intensive bed numbers including private beds was acknowledged, the Australian health system has not been appropriately recognised or utilised and has certainly not been overwhelmed. i would have preferred our politicians to recognise the pandemic as a health issue not an economic and political issue and acknowledge that our health system can identify, track and trace, treat and monitor those affected. Vaccination in a planned fashion through first responders and most vulnerable with quarantine facilities to contain are the most important feature of the treating of the pandemic. The reality that we have been having large numbers attend football with no recognised spread and yet one person can spread the virus so easily shows the virulence of this variance of the disease. it is why we must take the comments of the experts seriously, but I believe we should give them other tools particularly a capable health quarantine facility and appropriate vaccination, rather than wholesale community disruption of lockdowns

Well not sure it's always so clear cut. My sister believes it's due to difficulty with getting releases signed by medical trustees. As there were supply problems I did not want to get mine until the front line , quarantine, etc staff and the most vulnerable older and disabled etc. had their jab. I also believe incoming from overseas should not just be tested but should have the vaccine. I was under treatment and was concerned about side effects etc, I am now scheduled for mine but still find it crazy that others more vulnerable don't have theirs.

I think very state has had some sort of outbreak. As the largest economy our density and activity levels are higher. We have more reliance on public transport than other capitals. I think we are testing greater numbers and have had more problems with receiving and distribution of vaccines. There seems to be a knee jerk reaction and response system. The lock down has been identified as the best solution. There has never been a recognition that this is a health issue and our health system needed to be adjusted to be fit for the changed demands.

Despite many weeks of thousands of spectators attending games and travelling on public transport to get there we have a lock down due to one person coming in to the country. That this one case has led to multiples cases does show the potential extent of the spread and the virulence of this virus. it would be good if we had an effective quarantine system in place. Our tracking and tracing has improved although we are still only told of cases with no emphasis on severity. The tracking and tracing is supported by an effective vaccination program . It is disappointing there is a case from a Nursing home staff member when this sector including residents are the most vulnerable and should be vaccinated. The vaccination does not stop spread and only decreases the effect of the symptoms therefore helping reduce spread as shown overseas. Our health system should be recognised as having the ability to identify and treat this health problem. Not only tracking and tracing source but treating the severity and increasing vaccination to most vulnerable, not just testing many unaffected. We nowhave capacity deal with intensive cases while also monitoring less severe cases. While lockdowns limit spread, the actions of our population in adhering to separation, registration and sanitation measures, has also shown some effectiveness..
  6. Too many justifiable reasons. We are happy to play any team anywhere any time.
  7. I saw Brown and Weid in Richmond reserves match aand they combined well. Weid plays the deep forward Brown and Tmac are competing for the spot that moves around, creates space, contests and takes two defenders. TMac was so mobile last week and almost every game this year that he was taking the ball on the wing and even in half back. How about we put him on the wing to do that Tomlinson link role and have Bbtake the TMac key CHF role rotating with Weid and LJ. Dont know what I'd do when Lingers returns.
  8. We should definitely refer to the AFL. We are a club that should alert the AFL, other clubs, umpires and supporters that we will not be treated lightly. We will not roll over and continue to accept poor decision making. We will not accept it lightly from our players and will not accept it from others. We will respect and accept rules and practices but always strive for the right and best actions to be taken. We need to be consistent and send this attitude to our players.
  9. Had trans mission issue and could only listen to the game in the car with SA callers. They stated sometime during the coverage that there would need to be police protection for the umpires if decisions were wrong, joked that there should be one for Lever. The crowd noise influences some umpires. The Collingwood cries at Grundy were obvious but he tripped himself up and the Port guy fell on hm when he was tripped by that action .Umpire not game to pay the free for Port perhaps just let it go. our game is a difficult one to umpire and perhaps it is time to increase technology or use boundaries and goal umpires better. Better education and training, make it a full time career. Surely the industry could bear this cost.
  10. Just got the advice from the club. Sent before I had posted. Well done. $130 seems pretty steep I hope it doesn't discourage purchases.
  11. Thanks for that. I just hope it is selling at a price that the whole supporting community can afford. A lower price product sold in greater volume can produce better returns than a higher price product sold at lower price. Lets get the demand for this beautiful jumper up to represent the usually hidden supporters. Most AFL sanctioned and distributed merchandise is provided in very limited distribution compared to other clubs. Lets own this, club make it easily available, I hope they have plenty at the ground when we play doggies.
  12. Looks sensational. is it inspirational. is there a story attached or will this jumper create it's own
  13. Dont think i specified 9-0 as I suggested we win and beat every team in our decade of dominance but certainly said the existing players had depth an flexibility to win multiple games and flags.
  14. Agree that Jackson is still developing. Without doubt most exciting potential I've seen. His injury rest won't be an issue and could be beneficial for a young body. Will be great to see Brown Weid TMac and Fritta working together. Weid and Brown worked well against the Richmond VFL with Weid basically inside 50 while Brown really surprised me with his mobility taking possessions on the wing and in the back pocket at one stage. He pressed up high and often he was the one who delivered it to Weid. TMac also presses up an Fritta can double back to the spaces left through TMacs mobility. TMac said he and Brown got to know each other's game a little better last week.. I just hope they don't all compete against each other but work to complement each other. I would be happy if we beat the blues by two goals each quarter to finish with a comfortable 8 goal win. Really don't want to blow them away and become overconfident and sloppy, they become desperate, or the umpires take sympathy on them. We should win comfortably and also use it as an opportunity to try some different patterns. Wouldn't even mind some different personnel as long as the team is instructed to maintain intensity and scoring outcomes.
  15. I recall seeing that clubs that won grand finals often had the fewest injuries and players who played most games. cohesion and confidence with a consistent squad may well overcome what would appear to be the management option. i should say I have always suggested resting and managing players on the basis of matching up against the opposition. I am obviously confused Perhaps winning has affected me. As Titus O Reilly said Melbourne are in no 1spot "Didn't know the ladder went that high"
  16. Is Andy also a demons fan?
  17. David Birdie should be commissioned to provide our unique anthem. He has an uncanny ability to produce deeply emotional and evocative music to match lyrics.
  18. LOOKED BAD..........May dent look good so it just wasnt shown...MFC really needs some equality with other leading teams. I believe we are on top of the ladder
  19. Petty got banged up last week in VFL?
  20. Surely it's the Tomahawk defence. Just accidental, didn't even fracture the eye socket.

Was this a one off trip or do you go there often? Are you aware of other development or free space? Do you think there is potential for a ground and associated buildings?

There's some great history and great nam s. They may be resistant to any approach which would see them lose their identity but I don't see how an alignment which benefits both could not be achieved. Some sharing of improved facilities, staffing and resources could also mean for nancial economies and sustainability. Supporters could be encouraged to join both clubs with attractive options and a greater penetration to community could be achieved. The history of both local and national teams would be an attractive feature for a new population base which is predicted to move to the area.

If they are anticipating the proposed population need a high school there should be an entertainment precinct . 80,000 population support commercial ventures . This new community could provide a new unaligned supporter group . ive been promoting this area for some time and encourage all readers to go down there and have a look. You will be surprised how much potential there is. Also recommend that demon supporters go and discover the Ron Barassi complex which confirms our connection with that region.
  24. I reckon we had our best side on the feild for our biggest test and we passed with flying colours. And I reckon Fritta and May may have been needled. May be worth resting them now to recover fully from their injuries. Kozzie may have injured his ankle and could be rested. Jones certainly did enough to show he is in our best 22 when the side plays for and with him like they did this week. There really was no one who didn't do their bit and so no obvious change But at Punt Road Brown, Weid, Jetta all showed they are a cut above. Weid still has not got the smarts that the other two have. Bedford has impressed at the lower level and could do with some exposure up a level.Daw was also impressive and could release Jacko the young body if he needs a relief. Petty got a bit banged up and may have been set back. It is a good problem to have, the coaches and selectors are making the right calls and if they continue we can meet my optimistic projections. Play the squad and take the flag. It's a long season so keep em all eager and confident.

Nothing wrong with Barny but it is a little bit shy of close to MCG. And no I'm not a government spin doctor but I'm sure I could develop some more. An ex Public hospital, public servant, private hospital administrative officer who has then run a successful small business I have written many submissions and business and marketing cases. i reckon there's quite a few people who visit this site who could join to make a very powerful case. Perhaps we could meet at the game and put our heads together.
