  1. Jimmy Toumpas will have had 2 years at senior SANFL level by draft time, one premiership under his belt already.
  2. Can't argue with you much on this, pretty well summed up. With the 2 week break I would almost consider giving Taggert a run as the sub. Some of his kicking and spotting up targets was top class today and do we ever lack that at senior level. Sheahan is another who can really kick a ball and set up a couple of nice goals today. Blease was really good, great to see his hunger to pressure and tackle today as well as his outside skills. He needs to come into the side and be given a good month of football to consolidate. Yes he is a natural right footer. I think we will see Jurrah and Watts, maybe Green and Martin with lack of match fitness being the thing that may hold them back. For all that Green has been through in the last couple of seasons he is keeping his head up, good on him.
  3. This one I agree with you on Big Jim. Why we have a makeshift recruiting head is totally beyond comprehension to me. ...and I think these guys have a lot to answer for too, they are the common thread that runs through the last 4 plus years. The elephant in the room that the board must address. Even the media tip toe around this one, Tim Watson says the fish rots at the head and then goes no further, Greg Denham has little pot shots at CS and goes no further, Gary Lyon won't because they are his mates. At least lets get everything out in the open, let's rebuild properly or we will fall over. What is Brian Cook worth to this club?
  4. We slid back last year, remember 186? I still think the board needs to answer questions about that, clear the air before Neeld can take the blame. I'm really p.....off but not ready to pass judgement on the new coaching group just yet.
  5. The kid is 187 and weighs in at 84, he is a fair size particularly through the lower body. Will gain a lot more strength in the upper body as he has more time in the system.
  6. Taggert will make the grade and the sooner the better. He can get the ball and use it when he gets it.
  7. I like these guys too, and Haynes for real pace, Vlasuin is another. There are plenty of good kids in this draft and we need to clean out and get in as many as we can, a mini GWS, GC but with by then a few good players with experience coming through.
  8. Yeah, he does make some mistakes but he did a good job on Rioli as he has the last few weeks. He is the least of our problems.
  9. Also will should add Blease and Couch and leave these guys in for a good run.
  10. In Watts, Sheahan, Cook, Taggert, Martin, Jurrah. Time for some new blood, I con't care how they play tomorrow. All of them can kick the ball with the exception of Martin who is hit or miss. Out with the guys who continually let us down.
  11. Ricky has been struggling forward all year, his best is as a mid at Casey so maybe give him a run. Can't hurt.
  12. Big Fitz is ok but needs to kick up his 2nd efforts, he goes ball watching. This is not a knock, I just think he has a lot to give if he takes the game on. Take the game on Fitz...
  13. No, just too much ball in their forward half. He is doing ok in the circumstances.
  14. Luke Darcy is a total dick. And Mathews is eating his own words...very, very slowly and only acknowleging Mitch's last 2 weeks.
  15. The bench thing is all about the days when Walls played and they had a 19th and 20th man. In reality these days there is no interchange bench, apart for the sub it is a rotation bench. I initially thought it would have been better to start one of them , probably a bit of me still does (a bit of my older playing day thinking) but really it's hardly a show stopper.
  16. It's really a personal taste thing. I just can't stand that stuff, I'm more the footy purest like "bollocks", so even going back to Rex I just couldn't stand it same with Taylor now and the MMM guys.
  17. Good read, well done Matt and with such discretion...but wouldn't we all like to be a fly on the wall in those meetings and know who and what was being discussed.
  18. Looking at it now maybe but I wouldn't rule out Trengove, Grimes, Gysberts, Taggert, Watts or even Morton just yet. I'm inclined to agree with you, particularly if the price is too high for a Dangerfield (who would be the only one I'm interested in) then lets develop our own. The structure at the club is much better placed for development now.
  19. Well answered. As for Neil Craig, everytime I've been at training he has been working with the players talking with them, firing out handballs, rolling balls doing anything that needed to be done. Plus he has a big role in the development of the leadership group. How often has Walls been down to training this year, how would he know. This is just another example of a topic I started earlier in the week, the longer out of the game and less relevant that an ex player/coach becomes the more prone to making ridiculous comments (think Mathews comment on Clark and Hudson) they are.
  20. I hope Sheahan and Taggert get a run, these guys are the future and with Cook I would like to see how they go.
  21. Cut the effectiveness of their kicking game by playing man on man and push their lefties on to their wrong side (lefties hate that), and try like hell not to get drawn into the contest unless it is your turn to go. If we let them run loose their kicking game will kill us, if we man up we can unbalance their game. So for me it's everyone on everyone.
  22. Not for players I hope, one quality mid if we can if not then top up on picks in this draft.
  23. If we could get that I would encourage him to go.
  24. Let Moloney go...free up some cash and go for Dangerfield.
