  1. Lets not re write history here by saying what a astute judge he is by him seeing what even a blind man could see. Schwab was not only towing the party line with the media but giving Bailey a ringing endorsement saying he was the man to take us to our next flag. If there was a problem with the coach maybe it should have been seen at least a year earlier, maybe a couple and if someone can tell me that Cam Schwab went to the board in 2010 and told them Bailey wasn't the man then I would give him some credit but instead he re appointed him.
  2. By not taking action I think it has left unfinished business that still hangs around the club, it should have been dealt with so we could move on. We haven't. The energywatch deal was of his own doing and I don't give him credit for fixing the mess he created in the first place. After the Geelong debacle it was too convenient to get some good news out on the footy show with the signing of a big new sponsorship deal, smoke and mirrors.
  3. Not sure about Caddy, hasn't really set the game on fire and have to agree with the post about this draft and the available talent at least in the first round. We also have Rory Taggert who is already a bigger body, good pace but yet to play senior football, good skills, elite kick. Would Caddy cost us someone like Stringer? Just thinking aloud with a keyboard, dangerous habit at this time of night.
  4. Played as a pinch hitter in the ruck at Casey with big Max after Spencer went down with a knee but really only a stop gap measure. His best football has been played back and he should be left to develop there for the mo. Not sure if this is right but I think he only came to football in a serious way late so he is very much a work in progress and coming along nicely.
  5. Thanks for this, it was interesting reading. Taggert is an interesting one for me and it's a pity we didn't get to see much of him this year. A great game at Box Hill showed the class he has so lets hope the coaches can push him to be what he has the capability to be. His kicking ability would not go astray at senior level for one thing and he is already a good size to play senior football. Sheahan is another interesting one, we have his junior coach who must have put in a good word and he has stepped up with some really good games in defence at Casey. Can play, can he step up? Big rap on Strauss in the write up and I hope he can deliver the goods in the next few years. He needs to take the game on a bit more and use the kick he has. I've seen him do it at Casey last year before the injury and was starting to show at senior level. Cook, yep it is the mental side. He had a purple patch and was named an emergency, one more good game at Casey and the he must have been so close to a call up but form went out the window from there. Tynan, well he's never going to leave anything on the park. Will be a fan favourite with his attack on the contest, another pre season or 2 and an injury free run and I think we will have a player.
  6. It's the attitude thing with Cook that bothers me and it's one of the big issues holding him back. In an early interview when he first arrived at the club he was saying how he wanted to first establish himself at Casey and learn the game. I don't think Jack Viney will be saying that next year, any player must push for senior selection the minute they walk into the club, I mean look at young Tynan. Seeing him at his first training session I thought he was a few years off, skinny underdeveloped kid, but he just kept on pushing himself up by working his a... off, even strengthened up a bit in the short time he has been with us. He played first game and it's only injury that's kept him from another shot at it.
  7. That's the risk. The word is that money not the lure of home may well be the biggest issue with Tippett so I guess the club will have a good look at it.
  8. Yep, he must come under scrutiny and yes we should have pushed for Rendell, I don't think he has signed on at Collingwood.
  9. Not sure what the point is here but on the injury list we haven't had the soft tissue injuries that a club like Essendon is having, mostly structural which you can't blame the him for. Think we will see the benefits of Misson in the next couple of seasons, as for Casey well I guess with the Dees struggling we put more focus on Casey, at least one of our sides has been winning. In the end game it's really not that important.
  10. I think a club builds a strong culture by supporting its own and not walking away if things get too hard otherwise it's just a bunch of meaningless words. I'm happy for our club to stand with Liam and I hope they continue to do so.
  11. You may be right there, but room does need to be made on the list and he is yet to break into the senior side.
  12. I think Rivers is one senior player we need to keep, one of our best over the last couple of seasons, also think that Davis may well be moved on at the end of the year. He hasn't really come on, can't deny his courage at the contest but has been consistently beaten throughout this season.
  13. They have a kid called Smith who will be a top line ruckman, I wouldn't think it's high on their list and if it is they will have first shot at Grundy.
  14. F/S is done before trade period Pennant, pretty sure another club will bid for Danniher, maybe even us so they will be forced to use their first round pick. We are in the box position for Caddy if we want him.
  15. No, I think you are on the money with Ling. He would be great but on the Ling thread a few others said that his business commitments may be a problem and that is the reason he is doing special comments this year and nothing more. Ling has the inside knowledge of all the mids of the last decade because he has had to stop them, he would bring enormous knowledge of how they go about the craft. Not to mention how respected his is in the football world. If he is a no go then maybe a Simon Black or Lenny Hayes who are both approaching retirement would be good options.
  16. It's not what I've been told and I'm not sure the club has it right.
  17. There is already a thread on this...
  18. ...and I doubt GC would take him with his injury history, they would want someone like Cremeri or Stanton and that's not going to happen. so we are in a good position if we want him.
  19. Thanks Demonoid, I was wondering what Chris' comment was about. Would have been good for Gerard to make the apology. My respect for the Scott boys goes up and for Gerard goes down, the man who never makes a mistake. Maybe he should do a show with KB.
  20. I think he will be at Melbourne if we want him, the Doggies the only other with something to offer. Will Essendon want to go to arbitration again lol.
  21. No they will want a top liner like Crameri or a first round pick and again Essendon won't come to the party. I think he is open to us if we want him.
  22. Not up to his AA year but still our best defender. With the amount of ball coming in and the changes made to personal in our defence he has held up pretty well. The best defences have come unstuck when under pressure this year, even the mighty WC with Glass one game there looked second rate when their mid fielders lost control of the game (not sure which one now). The cats have been shaky at times with their great, experienced defence and look at the Tiges so called much improved defence (never really believed that one), again when their mids lost control the defence fell apart. With what many believe to be the worst mids in the comp I think Frawley does a massive job and it's good to see Tommy Mac stepping up to help.
  23. 2010 wasn't that bad, we also picked up Nicholson and Evans.
  24. Struggled to make an impact so I guess his time was up, probably did what was best for him to get an early start with his life ahead.
