  1. Understand what you are saying just not sure it will work plus I think the AFL may not like your logic.
  2. Too many if's and maybe's there Ben, as I say I would be happy with Viney and Toumpas anything else is a bonus and subject to a blind eye from the AFL.
  3. I will be happy if we pick up Viney and Toumpas picks 3 & 4. both kids proven at senior level both proven finals and grand final performers. Ready to go from game one 2013. Anything past that would be an absolute bonus. Not sure that all the brilliant schemes to get Viney in the 2nd round will come to much but of course would love it, just can't see it happening.
  4. So...let me get this right. We give away 2 top 5 picks in this years draft to get 2 top 5 picks in next years draft. Yep, that works for me.
  5. Doesn't work that way, it's tied to their finishing position on the ladder (as were ours, Geelong, Dogs etc.) so the earliest pick they will get will be past our 2 compo picks.
  6. Who cares? we've got enough problems of our own.
  7. Brett Lovett is a part time coach at Casey but one with a really good record in the VFL. Normally I would prefer us to have a full time coach in his position but he brings a lot to the table not the least the respect he seems to get from his players. I'm also a bit biased because he was one of my favourite players, a great reader of the ball and played a big part in our rise in the late 80's. Would love someone like Ling at the club, who wouldn't? because he has tagged or played with all of the modern great midfielders he knows the tricks that each use. If you get a great midfielder as coach in most cases he would know his tricks but may not be as aware of the others at least in the detail that someone like Ling is.
  8. Actually I thought the knowledgable ones idea of playing Dawes in the 2's this week to freshen up was a good one considering the VFL season is over for Collingwood and they don't play again until 2013. Then again a week is a long time in football.
  9. It was a totally brainless act from the people responsible and showed a total lack of respect for Brad, I think the Crows players were also embarrassed by it. I intend to ring the MCC about it today and suggest others do the same, they do owe a public apology to Brad.
  10. Judge him on next year, he showed plenty in his first couple of seasons to say he will be a player. I don't think it's the captaincy that's responsible for him struggling to kick a ball 30 or so metres or to keep up with the play. He was a good kick, a very good kick and had good run, not blistering but good run in his legs. You don't loose this without a reason, injury? training loads? He is one that I'm not worried about, there are many others on the list that I am.
  11. Well that's what you you are saying and that's what you get. Many think the NRL situation is a more grown up way of doing business, I think it goes against the grain of the way we have been brought up, mateship and playing for the team and many in the NRL are starting to think the same way. Even in a professional environment these things should still hold true. It's not immature at all, it all depends on the position of the club. For a club like Geelong who were a legitimate premiership chance when the Ablett saga was in play then of course he is a big part of the team success and you play him, I mean you don't cut of your nose... A club like Melbourne when the Scully thing panned out was no threat to win a premiership and in a re build, so why help develop talent for a rival club and hinder the development of players committed to your future. It would be totally incompetent. The Cloke thing is different again, he is seen by the players as holding the club to ransom, fair or not fair it is having not only a negative effect on him but also on the club. The club are pretty sure he is gone but need him to win a premiership so they play him but does it destabilise the club? Is it counterproductive? I like the way we do things in Australia and it's about us all being in it together, as a team. I don't want the American it's all about me approach in our football code and it doesn't sit well with many supporters of the NRL either. You think St George played for their coach last year when he signed on for mega bucks to Newcastle for the next year? As for Scully, well he lied and he has to live with that, he is one of the highest if not the highest paid footballer in the land and if that's what floats his boat the so called professional that he is well good luck to him but at the moment he would be lucky to be in the top 50% of players in the comp.
  12. Like Liam before him, he at least gives some reason to go to the football. The beauty of Jeremy is that he is developing all the time and some of his tackling and work off the ball is also a highlight, kicking and ball use around the ground is improving and if he can just capitalise more with his goal kicking then he can become a genuine star of the game.
  13. The last 5 seasons is my question.

    TIRED

Whoever he is, he has absolutely no feel for the game....very poor performance but then again the same could be said for a lot of our players.
  15. I'm with you Ben, I've not seen a lot of Caddy but from what I have I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Would rather keep pick 13 and use it wisely.
  16. There is a huge upside for this kid, the knock on him was his mental hardness. There was a doubt as to how he would step up in senior company but on the whole he has had a good first year at Casey and with some finals experience this year and a bit of time in the weights room pre season he could well be a player. His loping running stye reminds me a bit of Lucas.
  17. Stability for the sake of stability tends to bring instability. I would trust your gut feel on this Robbie, also I'm not convinced in your using the word appears that you are totally sold. 3 years is a long contract if that's the case. ...but anyway the board obviously think he is doing a good job and I guess only time will tell. Personally I don't think it is a good move and I have given my reasons before in case anyone asks why. No more from me on this now unless (and I truly hope I'm wrong) circumstances require otherwise. Let's get on with it and get the club back to being a force.
  18. I thought the opposite "stuie", it 's no surprise to me that he is playing at Casey. Not sure if I posted it at the time but I did tell some of my supporter friends that I thought he might struggle with a more team oriented style of football that Neeld would bring. He always gave the impression of playing an individual game and Neeld's midfield at Collingwood, whilst having star power worked well as a unit. Interesting that Swan has copped it a bit from teammates recently for stepping out of this mould, raking up possessions at the detriment to team.
  19. His game the week before marked his papers if they weren't already.
  20. Think you are right on both counts "old dee".
  21. Some good points Oucher and I also wonder what they plan to offer Adelaide for Tippett, it will need to be a first rounder.
  22. No, but the quote replied to is "Are you telling me that this hasn't worked?"no one can tell me it's worked yet. It hasn't as this years results show and I have still have reservations with the admin of the club and their ability to see through the changes required. Hope I'm proved wrong but I don't know if the balance sheet is as heathy as we are told. Let's wait and see.
