  1. Seriously will be p.....off if North get Cook.
  2. ...and we should have been into him. stupid us.
  3. At Casey, if our recruiting and development have turned the corner.
  4. It screws me with my Richmond mates, I reckon he was the worst player in the comp when he was with them, lots of action for no result. Hope he learnt something at Port.
  5. I think it would be unlikely that GWS would pick him up given they have some really good young KPF's in Cameron and Patton plus the money he wants would screw with their retention of players. The Doggies would seem an obvious choice but I'm not sure they would take the risk, unless he was born near or has family somewhere around the Western oval.
  6. His management are in it up to their teeth. Sydney are getting off lightly, they would have known of the deal otherwise there is no way that they would have thought themselves in the race for Tippett. They knew that the deal was done and they could get him with a 2nd round pick, offering White was a joke and eventually Adelaide had to come clean to pacify their own supporters who were wondering why they were rolling over so easily.
  7. If this is causing hold ups with other trades, and it looks as though it is then the AFL need to look at coming to a quick decision (investigation) which they don't seem to be able to do these days or unfortunately delay the finish of the trade period. This now effects other players futures and will open up a can of worms if not resolved quickly.
  8. Lynch has been liberal with the truth before as we all know.
  9. Anyone thinking of trading pick 24 if we had it for Ray or Pederson would have to have rocks in their head.
  10. As much as I respect Parko, the experts often don't have a good grasp on what's going on at a club, particularly a lowly one like ours and Port. The supporters generally have a better feel for this stuff as we're the ones that suffer week in week out while the experts concentrate on the big games and big name players. I found it frustrating this year when many experts were questioning why Moloney was playing at Casey, when we knew the answer. He wasn't playing good footy.
  11. That's the problem, they don't have the other one.
  12. It's been pretty obvious that there has been some type of agreement in place otherwise it would have made no sense for the Swans to enter the race for his services. Surely they don't have or are not willing to offer enough to Adelaide to facilitate a trade, so in this case they have something else up their sleeve, the Crows agreement with Tippett.
  13. Watching some highlights of Grundy yesterday and he looked a lot like big Mitch in the way he attacks the ball and moves around the ground. He should go to GWS and I know we need mids but would be and interesting discussion if he fell through. MacRae has a lot of what we need, run and carry, spread, a good kick, plays well in big games, playing school footy with Viney I'm sure we would know what he has to offer. Having said that I've been pushing Toumpas up since last year, pity he will probably be gone. Wines looks to be the one.
  14. Mmmm...so Dawes is the new Fev
  15. Not for me, no defensive pressure runs around in circles a lot getting nowhere. Denham would be close to the mark about the Melbourne Bears if we went down this road.
  16. ...and Rory is the one Neeld mentioned at the start of the season that wrote the letter he was impressed with. I would think Neeld had a fair say in us picking him up.
  17. Yep seems to be... but it's about time he cleared the air and explained himself.
  18. Could sell tickets to that one 'WYL'. I'm critical of Schwab on a number of issues which I've aired before on this site. It doesn't colour my view of the how the club is handling the current trade/draft period or the way Neeld and the FD are handling things, for the record I'm happy for them to make their mark at the club and get us heading in the right direction. Denham has a view on our recruiting which as 'Ben' has stated above is based on a false assumption. An argument can be made that Dawes is not worth pick 20 and maybe we could have used it for another kid and have run that one around in my own mind for a while now, we probably got it right. Neelds record with the Clark gives him credits in my view. But as Tony Schibeci said this morning there is something more behind Denhams attacks on Melbourne and maybe it will come to light in the future. So come on Greg grow some balls and tell us what the real issue is. What the problem(s) with CS that colours all of your views re the MFC?
  19. He still struggles with it at times though 'Ben' and it is a way to get him particularly with the angles that will come into play at throw ins and around the ground given there will not (I may be wrong on this) be an imaginary line like at centre bounces. He's a talented kid and I'm sure he will come to terms with it but I don't think it will be the free hit many think. A ruckman will need more than just athletic ability.
  20. Good to see, he looked really strong through the core and lower body in his games at Casey but not so strong in the upper body. He looks to have filled out a bit during his rehab, must be working hard which is a good sign. Really looking forward to seeing this kid develop.
  21. I have a different take on the NicNat thing. He doesn't like physical contact in ruck duals, grappling is safe for him as no one is running at him. This is why opposition rucks have started to get into his body at centre bounces. The rule change to throw ins and around the ground ball ups allows them to do this in any ruck contest now and he will find it uncomfortable. With the new rules a ruck man will need football smarts, strength and timing, this will always beat a pure athletic leaper.
  22. Melbourne Bears sums it up 'BB', he thinks we should be doing what the doggies are doing and recruiting young and not has beens. It was pointed out that Dawes is only 24, you could lay an argument with Byrnes but then he didn't cost us anything. I don't get the love for Collingwood in this trade period though, all they've done really is racked up a few late first round picks where there are no guarantees. Looks like they think they already have a team to make a run at the flag next year and are bringing some kids in for the future. They might be over rating themselves a bit like Carlton, what happens if Jolly goes down? Would have thought they should be looking for some insurance there.
  23. Feel the same 'Ron', looking at some of his AFL highlights something is not right. He really looks the goods. Can't see the problem with him working as a team player, looks to give off to teammates in better position. What gives? I'm pretty sure the way this FD is looking at things they would not entertain him if they thought he had an attitude problem.
  24. I think his kicking has lost a bit since he did the hammy big time against the saints in 2011. He is yet to do a proper pre season so lets not sit in judgement to early but agree 2013 needs is a big one for him.
  25. No, I think you are on the money there 'daisy'. Most seem to have had the bypass but believe otherwise. ...but back on topic, it's interesting to hear all the comments about winners and losers in this draft/trade/fa period when it's far from over. Even then we won't see a true indication of how we have fared until Hogan is a few years into the system.
