  1. They pushed him up forward in the 3rd Q 'bin'...it took Hodgey until nearly half way into the last Q to notice it. About the time he kicked his first goal. I've always said our expert comments people are the best in the business and really keep us informed.
  2. The cream on top will be if WC can knock them over...and it is possible. It will be WC's GF.
  3. ...be interesting to know who. There is always a lot of media hype around potential number 1 picks, I wonder if real recruiters (the bosses) are this hyped.
  4. It always is...
  5. Maybe, but this is food for thought.... The number 1 pick is not always the best in the year and I would say none of these are generational talents. Hodge for leadership maybe. https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/30390521/ranking-every-no-1-afl-draft-pick-2000
  6. Scully was the best they'd ever seen as well. Martin went at pick 3... Never believe the hype.
  7. He would be the ideal candidate for the Tiges job... If they give him the support Hardwick got then it will be a prime gig. If they revert to the old pre Peggy/Gale Tiges then it will be fraught. Good luck Adem...
  8. David King wrote Geelong off completely early in the season...then he got back on board, now who knows. They were all writing the Tiges on...now saying no chance of a flag. It's the entertainment business any relation to serious analysis is only in passing.
  9. I reckon Spargo has been really poor this season and wouldn't have him back in. His precision kicking is off the boil and that's his only real weapon.
  10. The VFA died the day that the VFL/AFL started to play Sunday footy... There was no longer a point of difference. The current VFL competition is a bit of a dogs breakfast but I guess at least some of the traditional VFA clubs are still able to hang in there. The old VFA was done and dusted.... Local footy clubs were throwing the big $'s around and they couldn't compete. The competition had lost it's shine and it's revenue base. The current VFL is probably the most cost efficient model at the moment being able to piggy back on local club infrastructure... You can't compare WAFL & SANFL competitions as they kept their clubs, there is a strong bond. Our big clubs formed the foundation of the AFL so we're left with what we have... A dogs breakfast yep, but not sure of a what a better solution looks like...
  11. Sub is made for Joel.... He is the perfect sub. Can play forward or back, short or tall. Will make an impact over short periods...
  12. I don't think there is a place for him, form has been average and he gets exposed.
  13. We would be looking for someone like Tomlinson. I think that's why he stays.
  14. A half back called Hardeman... Memories What does the kid play like and is he a relation?
  15. Daisy... Only joking 'Walking'
  16. Averaging 43.5 marks a game...impressive. Expect him to rocket up the rankings.
  17. rjay replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's worth a look of course, but if Freo do the right thing we will pick up as good or more likely better for our needs in the draft. I like him but the cost in draft capital and $'s probably doesn't add up.
  18. A Covid special...there was always going to be a player or two who slipped through. Some good recruiting and a bit of luck see us with a very good player.
  19. Agree 'Macca', neither are on the boil at the moment. ...we're trying to manufacture a forward line and Grundy might be our best bet. He's more physical than the other 2 at this stage and a big part of the role will be to hit the pack and bring the ball to ground if he can't mark it. If Goody can make this work then we are a shot...
  20. I don't think he was ever out of it 'Jimmy'... Would be more than happy to pick him up.
  21. There was also Hale at Hawthorn who was crucial to their premiership as a forward. ...also forgotten is that Grundy did play a bit forward as a junior. I don't expect Damian to know this...
  22. That's really sad 'dazz'... He might not be a great player but he's certainly a good one to have made AFL level. I would guess that none of the supporters getting stuck into him have played an AFL game and probably haven't played at any reasonable level. Haven't met Sam but he seems a good guy from all reports.
  23. Wouldn't bet on it...WC will be aiming for a win before seasons end and this will be the one. They're starting to get some troops back.
