Yet to be seen if he plays ruck...
-
There was nobody else 'mo'...
-
Tomlinson is the same height, Brown is not a ruck and at his age it's not the time to start so it made sense for JVR to do some ruck time. It's good for his development and it wasn't taking time from anyone else. As others have said it looks like he (JVR) is a bit taller than the 193 he was at draft time. For what it's worth if Jackson misses I think Tommo will probably come in as back up.
-
I don't see what that has to do with anything. If Jackson is out then Weid will take the ruck role, maybe Tomo to take a relief role possibly even JVR. The Casey decision is based around JVR's development and team development. Brown is a depth forward, Tomo is a depth defender it's where they should be playing their footy...

I haven't seen a lot of him this year but he didn't do much against us and last night he was very average. At this stage of his career with his ability and size he should really be imposing himself on games.
-
Before his knee he looked ok & seemed to be on track but just seems to wonder around the ground aimlessly now. When the ball falls into his hands he wonders why his opponents are tackling him. Absolutely no intensity in his game at the moment.

In honour of her new number one worldwide hit... ...not quite as long as our flag, only 37 years late.

Clarry signs on to be a Demon for life

That looks a bit more like it...

Gunston can play more than the Fritsch type role...I wish we had him on board this year as he would make our forward half so much more potent. Great player...
-
Given that Hardie bats about zero for anything coming to pass I would think this is great news...
-
I also loved when Emmylou would do this live with Buddy Miller...

I mentioned about stats at VFL a while back now...it's been a trend over the last few years. I remember when Grimes and Trengove were playing VFL they were racking up 30 plus every game. When ABN first started he was the same but noticed when he went back down a couple of years back his stats had dropped...Now we're lucky to see anyone getting 20 plus. You would think Dunstan would be a 30 plus player at this level...
-
Yep, and will be lucky to get away with 4 weeks for that one... should be 6 at least. ...but the AFL don't control the tribunal so it's anyones guess.

Hardeman was a great footballer, McStay is a good honest battler.

The final series will be more interesting & informative.

McStay is a very handy footballer but he's not the 2nd coming of Tony Lockett....we already have a kid at Casey who will at minimum be the equal of him in the next couple of seasons.
-
He seemed pretty comfortable about the situation 'Nev', I guess we wait and see...

Great story 'bin'...love Zevon, now I'm sorry I missed the gig. As for your mates, how dumb can you be?
-
3 interesting references there 'bin', bringing back many memories.

Funny thing about the apology...am I missing something or can anyone see where he apologises to the girl? “I unreservedly apologise to the Collingwood Football Club, its Members, supporters and the wider community for my conduct in Bali and I accept full responsibility for my actions,” De Goey said. “The actions shown in the video footage are disrespectful and I accept that I have betrayed the trust the Club showed in me by allowing me to take my mid-season break overseas. “I fully accept that as an AFL player, I have a unique leadership role in the community and with that role comes responsibility. “My actions have fallen short of the standards expected of me as a person, as an AFL footballer and as a representative of the Collingwood Football Club. “I had worked hard this year to establish trust and confidence in me to make better decisions and through no one’s fault but my own, I have undone that trust. “Late last year, I was diagnosed with ADHD and I am trying to become more aware of why I make mistakes that I do. I have again made a mistake – this is an ongoing journey for me – and I remain absolutely committed to changing. “I will be seeking further support to take the appropriate and necessary steps to learn and improve as a person. “Again, I apologise for my disrespectful conduct. I understand that I have let many people down and that I have much work to do to again rebuild trust. “I am committed to making myself the best person I can be and I believe that the best chance I have to do that is in an environment where I have the support of my teammates and the Club.”

I understand your point 'Cranky'... Consenting adults should be left to there own devices within reason, so long as they effect no one else. I think the issue was more that she consented after the event, said she didn't have a problem. He was lucky otherwise he might have been a real spot of bother. Still could be if she changes her mind.

Could Josh Frydenberg be the new AFL CEO?
rjay replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
It would be good to get someone from outside of the inside club. ...but as you say it's unlikely to happen. It will go to someone currently working at the AFL after an exhaustive and extensive search. -
DeGoey and Stringer, now there's a match...

That's what I'm thinking 'Nev', I'm saying the value of but don't see them having the currency in picks. ...interesting to see who they will give up and also who would want to leave.
