  1. I'm not a fan of catch phrases 'Jimmy'...particularly ones that sound like they've come out of the HR department or a script from Utopia, that's all. The list like all lists has some holes. I'm sure our FD know this also as over the last few years we have targeted, but not landed players who would help fix some areas. List management is not static and it will be interesting to see who we are looking at in draft/trade time. ...but I did ask you a question which you seemed to overlook. I'm interested in your take.
  2. Agree with all you say 'bin'...but here lies the problem. I think the umpiring is at it's lowest ebb since I've been watching football, and that's a long time now. I don't blame the umpires, although I did have a shot at Ray the other night for missing the JVR trip. You can see the umps don't have any confidence in their own game and that's due to the AFL. You've got a retired CEO, no football manager and 2 board vacancies. Who is running the place? It's a total shambles.
  3. If you think the list isn't right that's fair. Attribute diversity, give me a break. I know our list has holes, blind Freddy can see that. All AFL lists have holes, it's in the nature of the salary cap. I reckon you have some good points but you often want to couch them in such a smart a...way that you don't get taken seriously. I'll finish with a question. Do you think we can win a flag this season?
  4. I reckon he will struggle getting to 200 but has had a very long career without ever really nailing down a position. Good size, neat skills, good tank... ...but consistency has been an issue. Maybe being adaptable has gone against him, he hasn't been allowed to settle. I'm not knocking him, the almost footballer is probably the wrong term. I would have been happy with 1 AFL game, let alone 175... Maybe he is worth a shot up forward...maybe we have other plans.
  5. Tommo has been a man without a position for most of his AFL football life. Played up forward a bit at GWS without much success, same in defence on the wing, in the ruck... He's an almost footballer. I'm not sure he would give us much as a forward but the cupboard is bare for KPF's...who knows
  6. He really is the Kane Cornes of Demonland...
  7. Come 'Jimmy'...one week we lack talent on the list now we have a plethora. Which is it?
  8. It's never one thing...it really annoys me when people try and make complex things simple and simple things complex. We're a good team, sitting in a good position and as good a chance as any to win a flag. A much better position than last season eve though we were higher on the ladder, we're playing better football. ...but we'll all be more the wiser at 6pm on Sept 30. Until then enjoy the ride, it's been a good one to date.
  9. I thought Ray in particular had a howler in the last Q... It's ok to let the game go in a finals type tight game (maybe). ...but to not pay the sling against Riv (luckily it was picked up by another ump) and JVR having his legs taken out. Please.....
  10. Goldie has been great for us, a real heart and soul type player. Blaithin Mackin was a revelation in her first year as a premiership player last year and her sister Aimee joins us this year. Mick Stinear has been pivotal in making it happen, taking the time to visit the girls and their families in Ireland. I hope the men can follow suit, there's some great talent to tap into. The Stynes legacy must mean something.
  11. Goldie and the Mackin sisters... ...maybe Goody needs to have a good talk with Mick.
  12. If that's the case and WC end up with the 1st pick then it makes more sense for them to trade the pick out for multiples. I'm sure they want Curtin and if they could pick up another one of tow top picks, that could set up their rebuild nicely.
  13. He's building them nicely up to their GF next week...
  14. A bit like Danger but with good foot skills.
  15. Reading between some not too subtle lines I think they're trying to get rid of him 'Mach'... Probably for some of the reasons you've mentioned above. I that case would we be interested, not sure he's a Goody type.
  16. Surely ladder position is an indication of form? I won't be surprised if we drop one but astonished is a bit of a stretch. With 3 minutes to go... You've got a bit of Kane Cornes about you 'Jimmy'...
  17. That's a very odd statement 'Jimmy'. I'm not a gambler but even I know that odds reflect many things, form line being the big one. I mean ladder position is a simple reflection of form line.
  18. It beggars belief... A similar situation last year was ticked off by the AFL. The ground has shifted significantly. I would say the AFL were late to the party last year. ...but Port haven't bothered to show up this time. A massive miscalculation at best.
  19. Thanks 'Jaded', that's my first and only big laugh of the day...
  20. I thought it was a good counter move, well worth a try.
  21. He didn't really have the right match up today with the Tiges set up. A smart move to bring Smith on in the 2nd half.
  22. That's mean...
  23. They pushed him up forward in the 3rd Q 'bin'...it took Hodgey until nearly half way into the last Q to notice it. About the time he kicked his first goal. I've always said our expert comments people are the best in the business and really keep us informed.
  24. The cream on top will be if WC can knock them over...and it is possible. It will be WC's GF.
