The pre finals bye to my mind makes it slightly easier for a team to bounce back if they're good enough. The teams that win through get another week off and on this years form most have lost off the bye. Plus we have a nice 8 day break, then if we win probably another 8 day break to the Prelim. At the moment I would still have C/Wood as flag favourites but for us all is not lost. ...but Goody will need to pull a rabbit out the hat to get us a winning score.

It's really not...it's a player issue. The strategy is about making the most of what we have. Only 2 class forwards. You can't put the blame on Stafford for that. To be in the position we are in with a pop gun attack is a credit to the coaching staff.

So, it's Stanford's fault that we don't have a good key forward. ...and the only promising one we had (Petty) got injured. Go figure.

Should have been a premiership player at Geelong last year. The ideal of the one club player is fading fast.

I think we will be in the market for a good young prospect that in time could take Max's position. Forward craft would be a bonus. So, as you say probably not going to be much change left out of the Grundy deal to move a player like this.

I guess the important thing is to get the right understudy to Max now and that will give us some coin to do the job.

Do you get the option on GF day? I haven't payed a lot of attention but it seems most are at minimum using a backing track of some type. It would seem hard to set up and then pack down a live show in the time allocated. Particularly a big show.

Do you think Kiss will play live?

For what it's worth...I'm not the slightest bit interested in GF entertainment. I'm one of those poor souls who believe the game is good enough. If they do need to put something on I guess it's hard to cater for a large demographic and you're never going to please everyone. My earlier comment re Kiss and lip-syncing...it's might be a bit embarrassing if they don't, lets just say that. They definitely don't play, some sing a bit to the track with some reinforcement. Kind of hight tech karaoke I guess.

I think you are reading too much into what I was saying... For your T.Hawkins we've been bitten by Sammy W...always developing but not to get there. There are a couple of things that concern me but next year will tell us a bit.

I think we will have a good idea next year... I'm not expecting him to make the senior team, great if he does but he should show enough at VFL level in 2024 to know if we've made a good investment.

I'm not a win or bust on him yet but next year will be the one. As for the Cook comparison it's that both were selected on needs and both as players are introverted. So, I'm a hold on Jefferson.

The game I'm talking about was in Max's 2nd year and he beat an experienced Ben Hudson... Let's see how Jeffo looks next year but I sense a bit of Lucas Cook about him. Cook showed some nice attributes and does Jeffo but neither seem to take the game on. His selection may well be the same mistake made in drafting for needs rather than best available. We will know a lot more next season.
