  1. Whatever they're doing they should keep it up. Going on their last game Hibbo & Melk are in great form and May is a 2nd time AA.

Speak for yourself '58'...I was a pretty good wingman in my day.

They can do what they want... Personally I think a first time coach with experience is what they need. Adem fits the bill. ...but, they must get the off field stuff together. They have started the purge, will they have the fortitude to go all the way. From the outside looking in there are 2 political players that need moving on. Barham is well regarded & might just pull things together. Remember recent history where both Collingwood & Carlton seemed in disarray prior to the start of this season.

For what it's worth I think Lyon will coach EFC... If they get all the housecleaning done in the next few weeks then there could be a good opportunity there. Part of the housekeeping would be to move Sheedy off the board, but maybe that is too big an ask. Adem should have a good look if the opportunity presented for him. ...as much as I would hate to see him coach them.

That's good enough reason for me to turn the show off...

As a side note, I'm not sure if many noticed Melk & May hugging it out after the final siren in the Carlton game.

I think Melk knows he's playing for his sporting life and he 'aint going nowhere without a fight.

As strange as it seems adding Tommy and keeping Melk does make us top heavy...so if he comes in it's to replace a ruck, BB or Melk...can't take out a mid/small. Also you would have to wonder if he would have the endurance to run as he used too...he's been off legs for a fair time and no amount of other cardio can make up for miles in the legs...

Would make us too top heavy and mess with our forward structure plus Tom just doesn't have enough football under his belt so would make it even worse.

Listening to Richo on Saturday morning I got the feeling that Tommy is "break glass in case of emergency"... I doubt we will see him against Sydney but if we lose that game or get a key injury then he will come into the frame.

Agree dazz', I think he's a good kid and would love to keep him. At least he's invested in the now which is great. The rest will sort itself out in time.

As I posted on the trade thread, it's only a fact when he's gone Sam...
  13. It's only a fact when he's actually gone...
  14. Pre injury Howes wasn't looking that great...he was ok at times. Ofter he looked/looks lost out on the park and doesn't appear a natural reader of the play which you have to be to play a wing. If we can get Amon I would be all in. We have a window of opportunity over the next 2 to 3 years and we need to take it. Howes may or may not come on...time will tell.
  15. Wow...I just said exactly the same when I read this a minute ago 'Deenooos'. Sydney, Richmond & Geelong have not really been tested. Nearly forgot Collingwood. Lets see how this pans out for them in the finals
  16. That and a shorter game...

There was a few more problems after that which may be brought up. One when a Carlton player kicked long to an outnumber in the square when McKay was out on the flank 15 metres away. Why kick it long when your best contested mark is not there. Another thing I remember is the red headed wingman (not a bad player) virtually walked the ball out of play on the half forward line with a minute or less to play...it was all or nothing and he showed nothing...needed to dive and knock the ball in board, a Wayne Harmes move but feebly let it go out. Cripps had a great game but tried to win it on his own in the end...it is a team game Patrick. They really didn't deserve the win in the end. Well done Collingwood.
  18. Connor Rose is another, he's had an impressive back half of the season and that was being reflected in the coaches votes. A lock for the 3 votes last night.

Will depend a lot on the next game and of course Tommy playing some decent footy at Casey. If we play like last night there will be no change. Richo kind of hinted at this on SEN today. If we lose the first final and the forward line isn't functioning then the spot opens up.
  20. I think he did well not to knock Zorko's head off. Great restraint & maturity from Harrison... ...what would have happened if he did? The other thing is what part did Harrison play in this, he was a very unwilling participant. ...I think the club and Richo in particular handled this whole situation superbly. It could really have blown up but for calm heads.

Love this commentator... On a par with Brian Taylor as far as doctorship goes...Brisbane player down with what is clearly a knee/leg problem and calls it a shoulder as the runners are dragging him up by the arms.
  22. Surely with that track record they will pick Joey Danniher as next skipper.
  23. That was rather bazar...given that Zorko appeared to be the instigator in most incidents. If they made it to the GF against us (I know they won't), I doubt Zorko would walk off the ground under his own steam carrying on like he did tonight.
  24. ...and it would be pretty hard the see how Petty might have misunderstood him if that's what he said.
  25. Unfortunately with no football the story might have legs this week... ...but the EFC should come to the rescue, nothing like a big club in disarray to hog the headlines.
