  1. How about we talk some of the positives 'wayne'??? Laurie was excellent tonight, in trying conditions his ball handling was spot on, used the ball well and applied plenty of pressure. JVR is developing nicely, good grab, nice kick and imposes himself. Chandler can play...

Pro is the word...'willmoy'. A professional sportsperson will give their all in the contest at hand. I would be surprised if it has any effect on his or the teams performance.

I also think the knee injury he picked up in the first practice game has been an issue. A more seasoned player can maybe deal with these things better but his mobility has suffered and along with that so has his form.
  4. There will be others taking votes...Walsh at Carlton for example poles well, not sure how Rowell is going this season at GC. Neale will be the one though, a bit of an umpires pet.

...and that's the one he got a free kick against for shepherding out in the ruck or some such nonsense.
  8. That's just not true, his kicking has been excellent this season and a real improvement in his game. Did have some misses yesterday but on the whole very good. I think sometimes you need to look past your confirmation bias of past seasons.

Yet to be seen if he plays ruck...

    There was nobody else 'mo'...

Tomlinson is the same height, Brown is not a ruck and at his age it's not the time to start so it made sense for JVR to do some ruck time. It's good for his development and it wasn't taking time from anyone else. As others have said it looks like he (JVR) is a bit taller than the 193 he was at draft time. For what it's worth if Jackson misses I think Tommo will probably come in as back up.

I don't see what that has to do with anything. If Jackson is out then Weid will take the ruck role, maybe Tomo to take a relief role possibly even JVR. The Casey decision is based around JVR's development and team development. Brown is a depth forward, Tomo is a depth defender it's where they should be playing their footy...

I haven't seen a lot of him this year but he didn't do much against us and last night he was very average. At this stage of his career with his ability and size he should really be imposing himself on games.

Before his knee he looked ok & seemed to be on track but just seems to wonder around the ground aimlessly now. When the ball falls into his hands he wonders why his opponents are tackling him. Absolutely no intensity in his game at the moment.

In honour of her new number one worldwide hit... ...not quite as long as our flag, only 37 years late.

Gunston can play more than the Fritsch type role...I wish we had him on board this year as he would make our forward half so much more potent. Great player...

Given that Hardie bats about zero for anything coming to pass I would think this is great news...

I mentioned about stats at VFL a while back now...it's been a trend over the last few years. I remember when Grimes and Trengove were playing VFL they were racking up 30 plus every game. When ABN first started he was the same but noticed when he went back down a couple of years back his stats had dropped...Now we're lucky to see anyone getting 20 plus. You would think Dunstan would be a 30 plus player at this level...

Yep, and will be lucky to get away with 4 weeks for that one... should be 6 at least. ...but the AFL don't control the tribunal so it's anyones guess.

Hardeman was a great footballer, McStay is a good honest battler.
