  1. He's a good player and may well end up being a great player. People can try and convince themselves that he is not that good or not worth the contract numbers that are being put around. None of that matters. If the figures are right then he's gone. All that matters is for us to firstly get the most out of him this season on our way to a [censored], he really needs to stand up now. ...and secondly for us to get the absolute best outcome for our club in the trade. If they are willing to pay him these type of numbers then he's worth the value of at least 2 high first rounders. I don't know how Freo get it done similarly to how we couldn't get the deal done for Cerra last year...it's up to them. It matters not what any of you think he is worth, if the numbers are right then they are saying his value is extremely high.
  2. I think we will probably get an answer in the next week. Pure guess on my behalf. He's home in Perth for the week and will have discussions with management and family. If he's staying the new contract will be announced next week. If we hear nothing then it's a pretty good chance he's gone.
  3. If she brings what Goldy does she will be a great addition.
  4. ...and he's probably in the running for AA honours as a half back this year.
  5. Goodness me, what a miserable post....
  6. ...but that's not under this particular AFL policy. If they were on any of these drugs on match day it comes under WADA and the are s.... for 4 years if they get caught on that one.
  7. It does beg the question. The only answer can be brand protection, it's certainly not working as a deterrent.
  8. We're struggling to keep things in house at the moment also... I remember Eddie demanding that the club (at least the president) be told when a player is on 2 strikes I think it was. Could you imagine how this would be now with us and someone with a lot of inside information from the top leaking like a sieve.
  9. The way the policy has been set up it makes me wonder if the AFL are using mental heath as a smokescreen. They would hardly want players suspended for illicit drug taking. They may have deliberately set the policy up to fail.
  10. Not really, the sexy part of the story has already been told...it all dies down from here and most people won't care about any follow up unless he is caught out again. Tell 'em it's a one off then get on with life.
  11. He attacks the contest hard...apart from Tommy Mac we have no one else that does & he's out for a while.
  12. Maybe 2022 if Brown/sss don't pull the finger.
  13. Wasn't it Dale Lewis who got pilloried by the AFL for saying up to 60% (just read it was 75%) of players were involved in illicit drugs? This was back in the early 2000's and whatever the real figure it would be hard to believe it has has retreated. The problem is society wide, coke is a well known drug of choice in professional circles so we can't just blame young, dumb footballers with too much time and money. My take is different...I know it's good to get us off the front page for a few days but the fact is many of our players will be in the same boat. Most will come through unscathed but others like Fisher and Cousins will have their lives ruined. I think it's a personal issue and really has nothing to do with us. It shouldn't be front page news but I understand why it is. The AFL try to micro manage everything but in the end all they and the clubs should do is provide education and support, the rest is up to the individual. I do find the brand protection stuff amusing though...the lies we get fed.
  14. A mistake... Is the mistake a single use or a multitude of uses creating a single problem?
  15. Mental without the health part...
  16. Really...then it was a great decision by me to switch off at 3Q time. Seems like the only thing I missed was the Voss spray.
  17. I hope so, I'm sick of us being topic of the week this week...
  18. Really poor 'Maldon'...they're getting opened up time and again.
  19. Thanks 'Macca', my thoughts exactly. What a childish, ridiculous comment...what a DH.
  20. I think that's the key 'dazzle', he's just not hitting the packs hard enough and until he does he stays at Casey.
  21. They are a better team this year and I wouldn't undersell them. Very strong at both ends but the weakness is the midfield. If they get through with a fit list they will be dangerous, but that's a big if with the age of the stars and Cameron's dodgy hammy.
  22. Probably ended up costing them the game with that brain fade. ...and on a similar note, the dogs have a couple of players with short arms. Did not commit to contact in marking contests in the 3rd Q. ...and another other note, Weightman. I don't know, the dives, the acting in general play, nearly ending the year of that kid at Geelong by taking his legs out. He needs a good kick up the backside by his coach for a start. At least the umpires have woken up to him. At the moment he's a liability in big games. Koz was the right pick that's for sure. ...and another, other, other note. What was Treloar thinking? If Smith didn't cost them the game, Treloar certainly did.
  23. I'm not particular 'La Dee'... I hate them all.
  24. They forget quickly... There is no game to be played so I think they just forgot.
  25. That looks like a bad error by the boys there. Weitering is a walk up start in this team.
