  1. Thought exactly the same thing last night. Some of their players will feel betrayed by this.
  2. Honestly...this is pathetic. Their list isn't up to scratch & that's not Ratten's fault. Scattergun recruiting, a lot of it under their new CEO...I think the blame lies elsewhere. I feel for Ratten
  3. Just checking the calendar... 13th of October. Not April 1?

Agree 'Jimmy'...you have to spread your risk. Anything can happen to derail a players career. Think McCartin and concussion...O'Meara looked was a generational talent when drafted, injury has cut him down to being a good ordinary footballer. Daniher & Hogan, the experts & fans were arguing over who would be the best out of these 2 future greats...Rowell looked like a Brownlow medallist in his first season until injury cut him down...

I did hear it being kicked around in the media last week but seemed nothing serious in it. ...but who would make the decision anyway? The AFL are still without CEO and Head of Football for the coming season.
  6. Great to see this..go Lize. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1236323/aflw-eliza-mcnamara-first-run-back?videoId=1236323&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1665476999001
  7. I hope North take him...I guess it's a bit closer to Geelong. ...can get the train from Spencer Street.

    Who...
  9. Yep, meant to mention something about this. Many years back I was playing footy and we had a new recruit, a big "yank" in the ruck. In his first season he did throw the ball a bit, came from basketball but by the 2nd season he was quite accomplished, well he could and did handball. The umpires were still calling it against him...he was getting so frustrated. "God damn it umpire I handballed it". Maybe time for the FD to have a word to the umpiring department.
  10. Others probably know this, but I heard on SEN today that in Gaelic Football you can't take possession of the ball unless you are on your feet. Mackin was on the ground with a Doggies player, hence her deft tap over to Paxy...very smart football. She's getting better with each game.
  11. That little tap that was missed by the commentators in the first Q. She opened out the space for Paxy to get the handball across to Tay for the goal. When her teammates get more faith to use her she will really take a game apart.
  12. How fast is Bannon...
  13. Yeah, a couple but she makes the game worth watching. Created a bit the other way as well. Love Goldy...just takes it on.
  14. Mackin burnt a couple of times by teammates when she was out in the clear and in best position. Need to fix this up, I hope Mick is on top of it.
  15. Looks nice running in a straight line...
  16. Let me make it easy...he doesn't know the modern game. HIs footy smarts are from a different time and place.
  17. Will want to find the ball a bit more for my liking.
  18. They are; his name is Sam Taylor...unfortunately from WA I think

His highlights are pretty average... That's all I could say. So all those that think we should get him, who has seen him play? ...if not, why the hype.
  20. That's almost become the stuff of urban myth...and before you get on your high horse 'Nev' I know there are figures to back you up. ...but as 'DeeSpencer' said, it was a small sample size and in a winning team. We will never know the answer but I suspect Petty would have taken his position before the end of 2021 even if he wasn't injured. Petty is the better player.
  21. No, he had a few good games but the limitations he has now are nothing to do with his knee. He had them pre knee. His biggest limitation as 'rp' pointed out is Petty. Even with the kneey Petty would have overtaken him not too much further into season 2021.
  22. He would be what he was at GWS, filling gaps until someone better comes along. That's been Tomo's role all his career. A man unable to nail down a permanent position. He's had a lasting career doing just that.
  23. Tomo is an almost footballer. Looks great when allowed to play his game, nice neat kicking action on show at VFL level but not consistent at AFL level. Plus comes unstuck when the pressure is on. He just seems to drift through games, no sense of urgency. I reckon he's done well to last this long at an AFL club and can't see why another club would come knocking. I could never understand our interest. We had shown no interest for a few years there then all of a sudden we had this failed idea of him being a wingman. If he wants to play best 22 then he better start getting down and dirty....looks like it will be with us.
  24. 'Lord Nev' is the King of semantics...
