  1. He will be well aware of where he stands...
  2. He had a good 2nd half to the season, a year older, much fitter and stronger. When he gets a chance I think he will perform his role well. I think the only reasons he is unlikely to play round 1 are Brown and Tmac, who are both training well. Tommy's form pre injury was average at best last year so maybe something will open up. Brown may be rested at times through the season. I think the forward line will be invigorated this year not by a saviour but by a number of factors, JVR being one.
  3. Some of the more enlightened think they will have a down year and bounce back into contention in 2024...dreamers. To me it looks like they are in for an extended period in the bottom part of the ladder.
  4. There only a few real Hawthorn supporters and I think I know them all personally and can count them on one maybe two hands. The rest are all on the bandwagon, not real, not passionate, just a bunch of DH's.
  5. I hope he's aiming for every game...not that he will get them but you've got to aim high.
  6. I think you are on the money here... A few years back we were at the top end for accuracy. The game plan then was to bring the ball into an area that was easy to kick goals from. Pretty much in front and not too far out.
  7. They're certainly better than they showed last year...how far they rebound I guess is the question. Kennedy is a big loss and they have a few other ageing stars nearer to the end. Going to be an interesting watch.
  8. We're lucky to have Ben...champion player even better bloke.
  9. After all the good will with Alfie the other day then this...
  10. I was thinking a 3rd rounder for Henry...more like it
  11. Was thinking the same 'Dee'...you need these guys around the club.
  12. Just thinking out loud. Wouldn't it be great if this thread was closed down until Kozzy signs on with us. Don't think I could stand another Jacko thread.
  13. Sounds about right... ...and good for him if he can add a few years to his AFL career. Good for us, we get a quality person around the club.
  14. Who is running the show at the AFL since Scott moved on? Seems to be a rudderless ship.
  15. Selwood gone, Hawkins foot surgery, short preseason...the oldies all a year older. They would need a lot to go right from here.
  16. I didn't realise he was that old...the perennial young developing tall forward.
  17. I think Jamie is a bit old for a comeback now...
  18. I think Tommo is the classic almost footballer 'dazz' Hasn't been able to nail down a position but been in the system coming up 11 seasons. Turning 30 later in the season, I guess it's now or never for him.
  19. Sure does, I try to avoid driving during the day unless I absolutely have to.
  20. Jake Lever is the obvious choice. The only issue for me is injury. Seems to get a lot of niggles that mean he is not always in full training.
  21. 3 facepalms to 1 '@Lord Nev'...that's hardly fair.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised to see her move in a different direction... Management role either with the AFL or Football Department at clubland. The Scott/Hocking role would be ideal for her in a few years.
  23. You have consistently said you do...
