  1. So if Collingwood win or if GWS had have gotten through too the GF they would have the same reward. Is that fair 'PaulRB'? How about WC who finished 2nd having to play Collingwood who finished 3rd. Do Collingwood deserve the reward? The AFL's reasoning in a nonsense. I would think the AFL should be more interested in showcasing the GF and in that case should be looking at putting on the best possible game...not giving a team the advantage.
  2. Stop kicking the ball to Francis and we win this...
  3. Pretty sure Carmody played for them so would be well aware...
  4. Dumb ball use that Q setting it up for Francis to cut off time and again. Rawlings will be p....off with that. On a side note, Bernie protecting his shoulder, going at a lot one sided. Not a knock but to be expected, not ready for AFL this week. Hope he & team get through to the GF and he has a blinder.
  5. I thought that was the funniest moment of the night. When Frosty took the kick out I was yelling NO! at the TV...I could here some of you lot in the crowd yelling no back through the TV. Who would have thought. Seems like it was a pre planned move & it worked.

To be honest I think the value has dropped significantly. Too many members now. I used to like the old pavilion & long room much better. I don't like all the reserved seating...etc.etc.etc....

Personally would prefer the AFL to be trend setters and let the game do the entertaining. Now there's a novel idea...

Don Scott gave him (Harmes) a great wrap this morning. Loved his game against Selwood. Likened him to Michael Tuck the way he can shut a player down, get his own ball and be damaging as an attacking option.
  10. Going to be interesting, he struggled last week and looked his age. Gone one game too many??? ...but you never write off a champion, he might have one punch left. We need to give him the Ablett treatment early and make sure he goes to ground. The older you get the harder it is to get back up.
  11. A handpass... This is stupid.

Agree with 'daisy'. It's not a matter of bias or him having it in for us, I just think he's (Nichols) a pretty crook umpire... Friday night footy, Nichols and Carlton are a bad mix. Surely they can do better.

Nichols has to have photo's, there's no way known he could get a game on merit...

So when did Goodwin say this 'Dr'? ...because he's not getting a game it doesn't necessarily follow. Form and injury are not the only issues kids of his age (any age really) face, there could be a lot going on in his life the we know nothing of.
  15. I don't really listen to much Garry has to say... Roos is a different story and one of the points he made last night is why would you break up this group? There is a real camaraderie within this group of players and Jessie is a big part of that. A club that wanted to tinker with this would be playing with fire, it's a CS type of move, the type of thing people wrongly see as taking the tough decision when in fact it would be a dumb decision with little foresight.
  16. Forgot about Vanders & if Smith has been making a d...target of himself then Vanders is just the man to accommodate him...
  17. Someone has to take Smith... Harmes has the weapons to do it, not sure who else. ...or stop his supply?
  18. Whilst that is true, please understand if I would prefer we don't have Nichols umpiring. I just don't think he's very good at it...

It's not just the foot being raised he's actually kicking out, he got the Sydney player right in the guts. I don't know what the umpire was thinking here. The Dalhaus one was even worse as that wasn't even a marking contest, it should never have escaped suspension...but typical AFL making a rod for their own back.

I know you didn't make the system 'Lucifer' but this doesn't make sense for a couple of reasons. The first is surely the AFL would like to promote the GF as the marquee game of the season and as such every attempt should be made to try & get an even & engaging contest. A handicap based on the top team getting an advantage doesn't really promote this. Secondly, who said Richmond were going to win the Prelim? Do GWS (7th place) deserve the reward if they happen to make it through to the GF.

He's not using the kick to protect himself, he's using it to guard space. He's actually kicking out at an opponent and that's kicking in danger. No need for a rule change. Could also be seen as a kicking report if he makes contact, and he does. Knee up for protection yes, foot up questionable but kicking out most definitely not.

I think the time out has done Jack some good. Putting a positive spin on things. He's still a young player and very much learning the game but showed some real footy smarts on Friday night that the old Jack might not have. Exhibit A: Loved how he ran out to the opposite pocket when he saw Hannan running toward goal down the members flank. Poor old Blicavs didn't have a clue which way to go until it was too late. Hannan nearly fell for it as well, luckily he showed the composure to kick the goal in the end. I reckon the old Viney wouldn't have been so cagey.
  23. Smith is probably their most dangerous ball user and sets up a lot for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see Harmes go to him at stages of the game. Jones has taken Mitchell (not as damaging as Smith but deserves some respect) before so may do it again. They may run a few through Mitchell like Jones, Viney and at times Harmes. Burgoine needs the Ablett treatment, he's starting to look his age and needs to feel it. I can't see either Jones or Tyson running with Smith
  24. He had 12 touches with 100% disposal efficiency 'A F' plus 5 tackles not sure what you are seeing here. Looked very composed and safe with ball in hands to me...
