  1. Forgot about Vanders & if Smith has been making a d...target of himself then Vanders is just the man to accommodate him...
  2. Someone has to take Smith... Harmes has the weapons to do it, not sure who else. ...or stop his supply?
  3. Whilst that is true, please understand if I would prefer we don't have Nichols umpiring. I just don't think he's very good at it...

It's not just the foot being raised he's actually kicking out, he got the Sydney player right in the guts. I don't know what the umpire was thinking here. The Dalhaus one was even worse as that wasn't even a marking contest, it should never have escaped suspension...but typical AFL making a rod for their own back.

I know you didn't make the system 'Lucifer' but this doesn't make sense for a couple of reasons. The first is surely the AFL would like to promote the GF as the marquee game of the season and as such every attempt should be made to try & get an even & engaging contest. A handicap based on the top team getting an advantage doesn't really promote this. Secondly, who said Richmond were going to win the Prelim? Do GWS (7th place) deserve the reward if they happen to make it through to the GF.

He's not using the kick to protect himself, he's using it to guard space. He's actually kicking out at an opponent and that's kicking in danger. No need for a rule change. Could also be seen as a kicking report if he makes contact, and he does. Knee up for protection yes, foot up questionable but kicking out most definitely not.

I think the time out has done Jack some good. Putting a positive spin on things. He's still a young player and very much learning the game but showed some real footy smarts on Friday night that the old Jack might not have. Exhibit A: Loved how he ran out to the opposite pocket when he saw Hannan running toward goal down the members flank. Poor old Blicavs didn't have a clue which way to go until it was too late. Hannan nearly fell for it as well, luckily he showed the composure to kick the goal in the end. I reckon the old Viney wouldn't have been so cagey.
  8. Smith is probably their most dangerous ball user and sets up a lot for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see Harmes go to him at stages of the game. Jones has taken Mitchell (not as damaging as Smith but deserves some respect) before so may do it again. They may run a few through Mitchell like Jones, Viney and at times Harmes. Burgoine needs the Ablett treatment, he's starting to look his age and needs to feel it. I can't see either Jones or Tyson running with Smith
  9. He had 12 touches with 100% disposal efficiency 'A F' plus 5 tackles not sure what you are seeing here. Looked very composed and safe with ball in hands to me...

Nichols up to his usual standard tonight...lol
  11. Spargo showed no signs of being overawed. He didn't fumble and used the ball well when he had it. He's a smart footballer I think his only problem last night was he didn't get a lot of the ball, and lacks penetration in his kicking. That's not being overawed that's just a kid developing.
  12. That does hurt the AFL program, staying in is an advantage no matter how small. Every little bit helps at this stage of the season.
  13. Things are never static 'Bombay'... Think Boyd's finals series a couple of years back, and how is he going now. Not saying Weed will go the same way but you never know. Hogan is a gun...no matter how many try to reinvent history. Also the game will change next year, tall players with a good tank like Hogan will be priceless if the AFL get their way and we see a more free and open game. You don't give away class like Hogan unless he wants to leave.
  14. Yet Roos gave him 2 votes quoting his composure in the back half as being important. ...but what would he know.
  15. Fritsch - some important touches 12 touches 100%DE & 5 tackles.
  16. ANB 20 disposals, 9 tackles, Not bad for a defensive forward.
  17. Not likely 'Lucifer', Smith (206cm) came up against our Smith of the Tim (192cm) variety last week and gave them nothing in a 15 goal loss. Looked like being an absolute champion in the VFL when he played with the Suns as a 17yo before they came into the comp now it looks like he's at the crossroads...struggles with the contest but must be more to it. ...but Scott does like his left of fields...more likely to run Blicavs in the ruck I think.
  18. I suspect that will happen 'Rob' and that Jack will play more forward with a few cameo's in the middle (shake Ablett up a little). I hope so anyway...
  19. Martin certainly had the biggest influence... Interesting to compare with Mitchell who had lot of the ball with limited influence. They certainly didn't cancel each other out. To further prove that point a few Hawk stars had a very average night. I would also say their bottom 6 were poor but that's what happens if your stars are not in the game. Your bottom 6 will always ride the coat-tails of the stars.
  20. It's effecting my preparation & mindset though 'Wise'... These guys just need to zip it now, nothing to be gained except to make themselves look more stupid than they already are. If that's possible. In the immortal words of Kenny Rogers... "You've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em"...

..but you do. Getting multiple tickets is at the heart of scalping. The problem with scalping is that the scalpers do get multiple tickets by use of technology and or influence, the regular person doesn't stand a chance. One of the ticketing operations actually encourages the practice. This is not mum and dad making a couple of bucks on some tickets, it's an organised operation.
  22. Agree 'Colin' but like you I will arc up when someone tries to rewrite history as has been attempted this week. Anyway, I think we are now in good hands and the players seem intent on writing their own history. Richmond still had the crazies trying to take over the place even up to their premiership year. Maybe the Neeld and McLardy stuff is the blow out we fans had to have and we can move on to better days. I sure hope so...unless Mike gets CS on in Grand Final week, whiteboard, desk and all there's no-one else to wheel out is there?
  23. No 'WERRIDEE', not even close. The totally incompetent board we had at the time should take most of the blame. The board that was responsible for the CEO, allowed Lyon to be coopted to a role he had no experience in and didn't take the hard decisions when Jimmy was ailing among other things. The same board that appointed Neeld.
  24. Can't agree with this 'deanox'. In his first few years Roos turned over most of our list. He inherited a disaster. It wasn't repairing, it was a total club rebuild with Jackson at the helm. The blame has to be shared for the mess, no doubt. Neeld played his part but die was cast well before he arrived.
