  1. Frost - We need May (or someone)
  2. I would hope he does the right thing and retires now 'rp'...it's time. It's not just the poor game, it's the lack of discipline that I can't take from a senior player. It happens too often, he set a really poor tone in the first quarter when he should have been rallying the boys. ...as I say, I reckon he's been invaluable around the club for the couple of years we've had him but time is up now.
  3. Thanks for the couple of years mate... The experience you have brought to the club has been invaluable but now is the time. ...we need to move on and develop the list now.
  4. Not really 'Norm', the times he has been hard tagged this year he's really struggled. The problem is most coaches like Hardwick last night haven't given him the respect of playing a hard tag. No one should be getting 40+ touches in a prelim... If we make it Melcham wouldn't be the option, he's better suited to dealing with Howe...if not Harmes it's more likely to be ANB who has the running power to go with him & Harmes with Pendles.
  5. Nup. We were also criticised for not having beaten anyone until recently but I always thought we were better than those results. They are a good team, you could see it if you really looked. Some peoples opinion was predicated on hatred of the black & white rather than a more objective analysis. They were very impressive against us earlier in the year & tonights game from them was a facsimile. Here's a prime example. There is no logical reason why Bucks can't take them to a flag.
  6. The result didn't surprise me tonight. Despite denials by a few on here Collingwood are a good team and started to show it towards the end of last year. The Tiges have had a good run without a true forward structure and it caught them out. They're a good unit but if their champs don't fire they're in trouble. Reiwoldt was the only one to fire a shot tonight, the house of cards crumbled. There is a reason they went all out to get Lynch, it's the same reason we should keep Hogan. As much a the game changes, tall forwards who kick goals are worth their weight in gold. Always have been, always will be... Great to see Storm into another GF....
  7. Storm 20 - 0 HT.... Go Storm
  8. If he doesn't get caught in one on ones with Kennedy in the air Frosty will be ok. Kennedy has the body and smarts to move him off the ball. On the lead, particularly with the leg injury I think Frost will have him covered and should also give us some rebound. Just don't want him body to body...
  9. I think it will be something along these lines. I do worry about Frost on Kennedy though, he (Kennedy) is a very smart footballer and that's not one of Frosty's strengths. If he can get the ball to ground he will expose Kennedy, but that's the if...
  10. Yes, Kennedy is on one leg but it's a pretty good leg and he's a very smart footballer. It's only because it's finals that he's playing... If Frost is his match up he needs to run off him at every opportunity and make things hard.
  11. I think this is an important point 'bin'... Also think someone had to take responsibility for Gunston kicking 3.5 last weekend. Not being at the game I couldn't see the match ups but maybe Bailey was done over by a very good player?
  12. Good Pix... http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-09-19/inside-melbourne-with-michael-willson
  13. Chad Wingard is on his way to Victoria if the rumours are correct. Can play, would be a very handy acquisition. Looking for outside class, this guy has it in spades. ...and the bonus for him is he won't have to play against Viney if he picks us.
  14. I don't care for some of the technicalities in this thread....don't take it too seriously people but you've got to stake your claim. It's our ground...the others can F....off back to Glenferrie Oval, Punt Rd & Victoria Park if they don't like it. ...and don't even think about it Carlton or EFC.
  15. The one good thing about Ray is he's belligerent & more likely to go against the crowd just to prove a point. Jordan Lewis must have known we had Nichols again this week, did some serious sucking up on 360. Thanked """Matty""" for not paying a free when he robbed off. A serious game killer is Nichols.
  16. I thought the umpires we had last game there did a pretty decent job. If they go in with the objective of not being sucked in by the crowd then they are more likely to overcompensate and give us a good run.
  17. I'll kick against the wind here. I don't find anything too similar to '87 at all really apart from the fact that we played finals. Nice to reminisce but that's as far as it goes for me. I'm much more interested in what happens from here on in.
  18. So if Collingwood win or if GWS had have gotten through too the GF they would have the same reward. Is that fair 'PaulRB'? How about WC who finished 2nd having to play Collingwood who finished 3rd. Do Collingwood deserve the reward? The AFL's reasoning in a nonsense. I would think the AFL should be more interested in showcasing the GF and in that case should be looking at putting on the best possible game...not giving a team the advantage.
  19. Stop kicking the ball to Francis and we win this...
  20. Pretty sure Carmody played for them so would be well aware...
  21. Dumb ball use that Q setting it up for Francis to cut off time and again. Rawlings will be p....off with that. On a side note, Bernie protecting his shoulder, going at a lot one sided. Not a knock but to be expected, not ready for AFL this week. Hope he & team get through to the GF and he has a blinder.
  22. I thought that was the funniest moment of the night. When Frosty took the kick out I was yelling NO! at the TV...I could here some of you lot in the crowd yelling no back through the TV. Who would have thought. Seems like it was a pre planned move & it worked.
  23. To be honest I think the value has dropped significantly. Too many members now. I used to like the old pavilion & long room much better. I don't like all the reserved seating...etc.etc.etc....
  24. Lever & Hogan
  25. Personally would prefer the AFL to be trend setters and let the game do the entertaining. Now there's a novel idea...
